I've just googled Stiffy but there is no such player! If there was we'd 've been linked with him. Not to be out done by Stoke, I've heard that Sunderland are chasing Juan Kerr

I would want Sidwell, but not to replace Whelan, Whelan's game is solid and allowed our more creative players the chance to move forward. Exactly right

Steino at the Vale - what a night, what a season, what an era for us and Stoke-on-Trent football. I wonder what those Vale folk are up to nowadays? And the crowd celebration , ...... both hands in the air and singing '10 points clear, we're only 10 points clear!'

Chelsea must be really fed up of playing against teams in red & white stripes this season:
Lost to Stoke, Sunderland & Athletico Madrid.

Don't know if this helps, but I heard that the Brazilian defender is a player who is currently on loan at Espanyol. As someone mentions above, this kiddie then? Sorry, I'd only scan read this thread. Still a bit jet lagged from an overnight return flight (well that's my excuse, anyway!) ????

To me this question is on a par with 'name your favourite current Arsenal player?' I expected a few people to be completely unable to choose another team haha. It is possible to follow a football team 100% blood and guts without having to completely despise every other team that exists you know! Spit, my previous comment wasn't a dig at you nor your original question. I don't despise other clubs (except Arsenal), it's just that I'm probably a bit 'old school' in thinking that your team picks you, and not the other way around.

For the purpose of this thread you have to choose ONE other team in the premiership that are not Stoke to ever so slightly follow and wish success upon them. I have no idea why but I have an odd slight fondness for Liverpool. I enjoy watching them and I would like to see them beating chelsea/man city to the title. Who would you choose and why? To me this question is on a par with 'name your favourite current Arsenal player?'

Just after the announcer awarded Stephen Ireland the Man of the match over the tannoy, Ireland went over to Arnie (just in front of the away technical area). Obviously, I couldn't tell what words were spoken, but the body language & hand gestures seemed to indicate that Ireland was saying that 'I've been voted Man of the match, but it should have been you'
Quite a lot of team spirit and togetherness today amongst the players, especially the full time celebrations.

It's blindingly obvious that if any of our English players get the chance to play for England they will have to move away from Stoke City FC. We the fans can cry 'fuck em' all we want to, but at the end of the day, if it were you being passed by because of the Club you play for what would you do? I think it's inevitable that Shawcross will have to leave Stoke City to get another sniff at the England squad. Unless Shawcross starts to gain praise from our ' friends' on MotD he will get nowhere. They totally ignored his diagonal pass to Arnie on saturday, they showed Arnie receiving the ball and the shot afterwards, the only other pass they showed the commentator described it as a long ball, we all know if it had been any of the media dahlings favourite players it would have been a measured pass and the commentator and pundits alike would have been queuing up to lavish praise. Shawcross will have to put several games like saturdays performance together and consistently to PERHAPS get a mention. It would help if the England manager knew where the Brit is, not one England manager has been to Stoke since promotion!! I thought that Stuart Pearce visited The Brit during his short tenure as England manager. Hodgson seems to have no intention of watching a match at Stoke. Even Maradonna visited The Brit as Argentina manager.

Yeah, Arsenal ran riot didn't they. Bar the odd brain freeze he's been very good since stepping in for Huth. Further proof that statistics can be made to say any old bollocks 87.2% of all statistics are made up on the spot! ????

Conclusive proof of Arsenal's influence on the media ?

Very disappointing and somewhat unprofessional to criticise a fellow referee in this way. Had the same comments been made by a manager, then no doubt they would have been fined OK it's an opinion, the referees report hasn't been made public as far as I know, so it is totally unacceptable to air his views immediately Surely the FA DO have to ask the referee / linesman if he saw the incident. To be fair I think the contact did deserve a booking which may indicate that both officials missed it, but intent is very difficult to assess, indeed there were several robust challenges from each team. This seems to be trial by media and the FA should stick to the laws of the game. Well said sir !

From what I saw, Giroud asked for what he got. Another cheat of the highest order! Every time a challenge went in, he hit the floor. Mardarse! To be fair to Giroud, I thought that on one occasion when he went down, that Arsenal were going to have to send on the emergency hairdresser.
