Pennant was much better. He has to start next game. Walters offers nothing. Disagree. Pennant can't go past anyone, and certainly doesn't offer the same work rate as Walters.

I thought Ireland was far better than Adam but to be honest I'm still to be convinced that any of them are any better than Whelan!! Agreed. Norwich wouldn't have strolled through midfield if Whelan had been on. But then again he's not spectacular enough for some. Whelan does the work others can't be bothered to do.

It would be nice if we did a proper retro range, lot's of clubs have this on the club shop online store we do not have a large selection I would love  Fradley Homes shirt, or a auto windscreens shirt from the stockport game, is there not enough call to do  it? has it ever been mentioned? You can have my Matchwinner Autowindscreens original shirt if you wish. Good condition, 'Ansells' logo on the front. Size 42 / 44. FOC if you want it ?

I suspect that many of the empty seats are due to supporters dissatisfied with the previous regime not renewing during the 'early bird' period (probably as a protest)
now that the managerial situation has been resolved and they are wishing to return to the fold, they are finding individual match prices unaffordable.
There is a way around this situation which is in the best interests of both supporters and the club.
Instead of waiting to offer 'half season tickets' the club could offer 'three quarter season tickets' now (with credit terms etc as per the full season ticket).
I see this as 'Win. Win' for all concerned: bums on seats, happy supporters, full stadium, great atmosphere.

Stoke will probably fill some of those seats after Christmas when the 'half season' tickets are on sale, and that will also give a route to early bird price renewal for next season. Agreed. I've got a season ticket and there was no way that I wasn't going to renew. However, I can see the dilemma for those who haven't got season tickets or those who can't attend every match. I was with one such friend today who paid £50 for a seat in the John Smith's upper. He can't wait to have a 'Half season' ticket. Perhaps the club should recognise the current empty seats situation and react NOW by offering 'three quarter' season tickets. . ....... Win Win for everyone ?

Well we know the character of Sepp Blatter. He thinks that racism should be settled with a handshake & womens footie could be improved with scimpier shorts. Corruption is the elephant in the room, cause it's the only possible reason that Qatar got the world cup, it's glaringly obvious & a shameful stain on our game... Exactly

Can see it now, we don't get our new USA forward cause the FA use it as a first example of the new rules in place and its only stoke, not like its Chelsea or utd Surely new rules cannot be applied retrospectively.

Now that the transfer deadline madness has expired, can we still loan players (out or in) ?
Please excuse my ignorance, but what are the rules.

To be fair, the Stoke supporters on TV on transfer deadline day are generally better behaved than those at other clubs.
Having said that, it is a bit cringeworthy watching the cast of Fraggle Rock standing behind Rob Dorset!

It was good wasnt it. Seems like Hughes is doing exactly the right thing with sensible development of his playing resources. Tweaking things without taking too much away from our established strengths. Perhaps most importantly he and his assistants seem to have maintained and indeed improved the team spirit/ethic that is always going to be vital to a club of our stature in the Premier League. All in all an encouraging start that deserves a little financial backing before Monday night! Well said sir! Bob on

If Stoke paid for Agudelo to come now, then the money spent could be offset by releasing (selling) other players with the certainty that we'd got our replacement already here and available now.

After what happened to Ramsey, I can't believe that Arsenal have been actively pursuing the likes of Ashley Williams, the player who was involved in the 'near death' experience sustained on Robin van Persie.

We aren't going to win the Premier League, so the League Cup is a genuine opportunity to win some silverware. For this reason alone I don't think that we should be making wholesale changes to the team (at least until we are 3 - 0. up).

Nope. You in your car have no right to use a bus lane. You are breaking the law, breaking the highway code and are a piss poor driver if you disobey the rules of the road. Bus lanes are there to give public transport an advantage over other traffic. Do you think you have a right to drive your car down a cycle lane thought the park too then because you pay your road tax? Like it or not those are the rules of the road. If you break them you deserve to be punished. I am a bus driver. And its drivers with attitudes like yours that make my job so much more difficult week in week out because of inconsiderate drivers who have no respect for the rules of the road. I understand what you're saying, but the one by the fire station in Hanley is about six yards long and serves absolutely no purpose apart from to sucker people in as the road inexplicably turns into a bus lane. The bus lane I was referring to outside the Royal Oak pub in Christchurch Street Fenton is also only about 6 yards long. What is the purpose of a bus lane that is shorter than the length of the bus itself? ? ? My reason for mentioning it in the first place is because the traffic enforcers obviously view this as a tidy income stream. I just didn't want any fellow football fans falling into the trap on match days.

Whilst walking home from yesterday's match I saw what appears to be a nice little earner for the traffic enforcers at the expense of unsuspecting fans travelling home from the game.
There was a camera van parked up in Christchurch Street Fenton. It was focused on traffic turning left out of Temple Street into Christchurch Street (which is not an offence in itself). Motorists are then confronted with a very short 'buses only' lane at the junction with City Road (by the Royal Oak pub). In this situation the dilemma for drivers is either to reverse back along Christchurch Street or to take a chance and continue the short distance to the City Road junction. Those who perform the latter are duly caught on camera.
This confusing junction seems to be a nice little income stream for the traffic enforcers on match days when traffic volumes are greater with motorists who might not normally be familiar with the traffic restrictions at this location.
My own view is that if traffic enforcers were really serious about traffic safety at this location they would put more effort into eliminating the confusion, rather than using it as an opportunity to maximise income.

If Defoe signed on loan, then that would presumably overcome the wages issue and also solve the problem of selling on an ageing player at some future stage.
Defoe may be past his best but I think that he is a proven quality striker, just the sort of player we need until One Agudela arrives.
Spurs opportunities must be diminishing for Defoe as they continue to sign even more players (unlike Arsenal).
