Just after the announcer awarded Stephen Ireland the Man of the match over the tannoy, Ireland went over to Arnie (just in front of the away technical area). Obviously, I couldn't tell what words were spoken, but the body language & hand gestures seemed to indicate that Ireland was saying that 'I've been voted Man of the match, but it should have been you'
Quite a lot of team spirit and togetherness today amongst the players, especially the full time celebrations.

I was hoping Arnie would get MOTM to be honest he is the sort of player getting that would give him a shot of confidence I reckon. Not sure if he has been given it since he has been here.
I know there was 1 maybe 2 people who deserved it more but I reckon would of been a good idea to give it to him

After it got announced the boothen end erupted into Arnie...Arnie...Arnie, which he held his hand up and acknowledged it. He knows that we thought he was mint today, I'd hope that would also boost the lads confidence.

Well yeah, I fully endorse that this could have upset Ireland. I have no real counter argument for your post. Arnie strikes me very much as the type of guy who needs an arm around his shoulder from time to time. If his best efforts go I rewarded I just don't want his head to drop. I suppose we can only hope Ireland took it well as somebody said above, just after it got announced Ireland wandered across to Marko and perhaps gestured that he thought Arnie had done enough to win it. Let's take nowt away from Ireland, he did play really well... To be fair they all did, mostly.
