The problem with being a clear favourite is that everybody will be up for having a go at us. It seems to be a very British thing but the underdogs will turn on there best performances of the season against us. Not to mention a few cloggers who will look forward to some juicy tackles.I agree with this completely especially the last sentence. Shaq would have been a 'marked' man if he'd stayed here, I reckon he would've lasted two matches then been out injured for 8 weeks after that! Some spicy tackles will still be coming our way I expect, and I expect Bauer to be 'welcomed' to the Championship by defenders with gusto! Why is this week taking so bloody long?!!

Can we be as one? You ask. I think it'll take a while if the game against Wolves is anything to go by. I don't know the exact number of us Stoke fans that were there, but, even with that small amount there were still audible boo's when McClean was on the ball. When the ground will be at its most full for the first game the boo's will be amplified for sure. Whether this is right or wrong is not for me to judge. But for me, while he wears a Stoke City FC top I'll be behind him.

Good luck to the bloke, when he played well we all loved him, when he didn't play so well he frustrated us all. I'm glad that we've had players like him and a few others at our Club, for the goals and the skill and the recognition they bought to Stoke City FC. Sad, mostly, to see him go. But in my opinion it was inevitable.

Bit of a daft question with 6 weeks still to go before the season kicks off. It seems none of our rivals in the Champs have made any signings or departures other than Forest who have spent 15m on a Portuguese guy who has played a couple of games for Benfica. So how can anyone make predictions at this stage. The only thing that's apparent is that there are 3 rookie managers in teams expected to be in the top half who could be great or simply hopeless. I think this is pretty spot on.

It'll be more interesting to see which fixtures have been arranged for the so called 'Elite' top 6 Clubs to have a(relatively) easier start to their new campaigns..

Hi everyone, does anyone have a good downloadable wallchart for the upcoming World Cup? I've had a look online, but I thought that one of you fine Ladies or Gents would have a link to one.
Also, I was thinking of this for a bet; Ronaldo to be the top scorer and Russia or Germany to win the compo.

Yup, agree lakeland. A new manager with a whole Summer to bring in and train the players into how he wants things done. It will be a really interesting summer for us now, first Stoke will be more busy than I expected them to be, and second, the World Cup!.

Although I consider this to be good news I think that us, as fans now have to calm down and let the new manager, whoever that might be, a chance to prove himself. Personally I hope we get Graham Potter.

I don't think there will be any chance he will stick around. However, if he does, I don't think he could cope with the Championship. As we know, this league is a lot more competitive than the Prem because of the prize at the end of it if you're lucky enough to be promoted. Shaq, could and would be a targeted player, he would be tackled aggressively from day one. I think he would play a couple of matches and then be injured for weeks on end.

Us fans have guessed/accused the FA of this for years. How, as fans can we do anything about it though? To me this proves corruption and an organised plan to keep the so called elite Clubs on top, when in fact if the fixtures were as random as we'd like to hope they are would produce a different looking league table every year, probably. I wouldn't be surprised if this happens throughout each league too. I have to admit that I don't read through the Premier leagues rules as to how the fixtures are arranged, but the last paragraph in this report proves that there is a certain amount of favouritism toward the so called elite Clubs.
"The Premier League openly acknowledges on its own website that the fixture list is “no random draw”, with numerous factors influencing when teams play."
This is surely as unfair and biased as things can be..

I don't think anyone really knows the contract situation between Lambert and Stoke City FC. I've heard that he's on a 6 month contract with a view to it being extended if he kept the Club in the Prem. Then I read, on here I think, that he has a straight 2 and a half year contract. The thing is, I don't ever recall the board ever acting quickly where the manager situation is concerned. If, and in my opinion, it's a big if, he does indeed get rid of Lambert should we lose against the Swans then the managerial position will be very attractive I would've thought, especially if a new incumbent has a whole Summer to build a replacement team for the one that has let us all down. My answer to the OP would be, I don't know who I would go for, but I would give Potter a once over. With what he's done abroad he could be, just could be, a decent acquisition.

In retrospect, we should never have gone for him in the first place. He had too much mental baggage going on whilst his son was critically ill in hospital. I doubt playing for Stoke while his lad was ill in bed over a thousand miles away ever let him play at his best.

Butland - Nope, will go to Arsenal or Liverpool Zouma - Nope, apparently he's going abroad, but we'd lose him anyway as he's a loaner. Shawcross - yep, possible sale to Wolves. BMI - Nope. Pieters - My only maybe.. Allen - Nope, he'll be sold to Wolves or Swansea. Ndiaye - Nope, will move to foreign shores I reckon. Bauer - Yep, I think he'll stay here. Shaq - Nope, I think he will be sold to Burnley or another Prem Club. Diouf - Yep, sadly. Crouch - Nope, I think he will leave, perhaps Wolves will come calling. I think he'll be an impact sub for them, or another team.
I might be wrong, I was wrong once before!

Presumably the PFA player of the year is above punishment? Virtually any player, that's a MOTD or Sky Sports dahling will/would get away with it. Especially if it's against a 'lower' team. It will never change unless it's absolutely blatant and the expert pundits comment on it.

I don't think we will, but, even if we do I still think it's inevitable that there will be a mass exodus from the Club. Butland, Shaq, Shawcross, Allen, Ramadan and others will depart I reckon. Shawcross will stay whatever happens. Aren't there reports around the meeja that Pulis & Hughes are sniffing(!) around him though?

The 'experts' in the studio defo are their usual lick arses and saying it wasn't a red. I wonder how they would've been if it had been a Wigan player on a City player.

I thought Watford played out their game plan perfectly. Assassinate the match, they started even before the kick off with their huddle. Quite possibly the worst 'team' I've seen down at the Bet365 ever. Fantastic at going down for non-fouls and squealing like SJW's who spot something offensive. And Mr. Moss, the so called referee fell for these tactics every single time. With Watford crowding any and every official when one of their 'players' ended up on the floor, which was usually about every 3 minutes. If that's how Watford play when they're 'fully committed' then I would like to see them when they really put their efforts into time wasting. As I said above, they played out their game plan excellently, never allowing Stoke to get into any sort of rhythm and when they did, a squeal and fall to the floor alerted the ref to which he dutifully stopped the game right away.

I was hoping they would add the whole ground singing Delilah aswell. I thought the coverage may have done us a favour actually, considering how short they showed us for. It keeps us under the radar again.. I was surprised that they showed the three goals against us at Old Trafford though, so soon after showing our victory. I thought that was a bit anti stoke. I loved the passion shown by Lambert, bloody brilliant.

It's a shit appointment, no one is debating that, but protesting mid season when we are in the relegation zone will get us nowhere. They're not going to appoint another manager before the summer so there's no point giving Lambert grief yet and they aren't going to put the club up for sale before the summer because that would really be waving the championship white flag. What we need is everyone to get behind the team, give the Brit a real atmosphere again, and pray by some fucking miracle we stay in the Premier League. Protest in the summer, stop buying club merchandise, don't renew your season ticket for 2018/19 but don't boo the team and don't protest a manager who hasn't even had his first game in charge yet. We're not finished yet. Although I agree with you I don't agree with you regarding the section I've highlighted. I'm a Stoke City FC fan, not a Stoke City 'in the Premier league' FC fan. I'll still go down to watch my team, no matter which division we're in. We should get behind the team now, and the new appointment too. Too many so called fans on here are wetting their panties and making themselves sound ridiculous with shouts for protests etc.. But, that's their choice.
