It's a shit appointment, no one is debating that, but protesting mid season when we are in the relegation zone will get us nowhere. They're not going to appoint another manager before the summer so there's no point giving Lambert grief yet and they aren't going to put the club up for sale before the summer because that would really be waving the championship white flag.
What we need is everyone to get behind the team, give the Brit a real atmosphere again, and pray by some fucking miracle we stay in the Premier League. Protest in the summer, stop buying club merchandise, don't renew your season ticket for 2018/19 but don't boo the team and don't protest a manager who hasn't even had his first game in charge yet.
We're not finished yet.

No. I just cant do it. If the board wanted to get the 12th man behind the team, they should not have inflicted this on the team and fans. They did this knowing it was going to be unpopular and did it anyway. Complete disregard for the club and the fans. The board deserve everything they will get which will possibly be the Championship football and a massive fall off in season ticket sales (even if we stay up). Not a good business decision, in fact it is madness. Ambition!!!!

Exactly the same as when they appointed Pulis for a second stint and Hughes - both were universally unpopular decisions, and with hindsight both were initially successful.

Why, why support something that you know is wrong just not to rock the boat, It's not a question of rocking the boat. If we are negative towards his appointment in the stands, will it encourage the players to perform any better? No. If we're positive in the stands and get behind the team instead of engaging in protests, will it encourage the players to perform any better? Maybe. We need 6 wins, we can't afford any bullshit or side shows - 100% support until we're either safe or down, then do what the fuck you like.

The owners are loaded, they should prove they are fans and got someone who will inspire the team, players will want to sign for, someone who can attract the players we need. We will get what we paid, then listen to the board complain.

Hang on a minute- "they should prove they are fans and got someone who will inspire the team"- as far as I can work out anyone who has been approached has pretty much given us the finger. So it would appear that "PL jobs are coveted throughout the world" is just bullshit. I'd rather somebody like Lambert than a foreign mercenary who really doesn't give a flying fart what happens to us and doesn't necessarily know the ins and outs of the premier league. If you provide me with a list of top quality managers which were banging down the door when Hughes went then I will stand corrected. Let's get behind him and see what happens!

I have no idea if it will stop us from going down, but we are where we are and fans protesting about a manager who they wouldn't have chosen, before he's even taken his first game, is plain fucking stupidity. We might go on to get dicked 6-0 every game. We might win enough games to stay up. But negativity won't change his appointment or make the team perform better. Right now the ONLY thing we need is points, not side show bullshit.

It's not the appointment that any of us would have chosen but it's what we've got. Ball aching about it now isn't going to help when we're fighting for our lives is it? It's not going to magically send us back in time to when we should have sacked Hughes at the end of the season. Give the guy a chance.

You cant support this shit. Incompetance from top to bottom. A manager nobody wants does not galavanise a club it makes it weaker. Lose to Huddersfield and hes going to get slaughtered every game. Not his fault the boards fault. Why don't they get it? If potter game and we went down theres some slack as we gave youth a chance but not this failed idiot.

What is plain stupidity is going for the cheapest easiest option. This is like appointing Bruce, McClaren etc, sheer desperation.

Everybody at games would get behind the team at the start, but we're still entitled to give our opinions on forums.
The fact is Paul Lambert looks to be a shite appointment, and probably will be.
This has stemmed from things that the board are to blame for.

Kept Villa in the league with a spending budget from a chairman that wanted out that was so low you wouldn't keep a team in the Championship with it. He failed at Blackburn? He kept them in the Championship. Relegated after he left - basket case club that have been dropping like a stone since the Venkys took over. I think his record is more positive than negative and I'm pretty sure he can organise a defence better than Hughes's feeble attempts. Give the guy a chance.

Mr Frog perhaps you could enlighten us why you believe that Paul Lambert is unable to inspire the team ? I wonder if there was a reason he was out of work for so long, he's probably been inundated with job offers at clubs and he's like, nah I know Hughes is going, I'm waiting for that.

I'll still go down to watch my team, no matter which division we're in. We should get behind the team now, and the new appointment too. Too many so called fans on here are wetting their panties and making themselves sound ridiculous with shouts for protests etc.. But, that's their choice.

Many club's have had their best years under a man like Lambert. Some fans fail to enjoy them fully because they paint themselves into a fucking corner as soon as they are appointed. For your own sake give the fella a month or two's support.
