Personally I'm not too bothered about O'neill turning the Club down. Perhaps giving Potter a go at the job would be the best thing? I'm expecting us to fall out of the Prem by the end of March anyway...

I sort of understand where you're coming from OP, but people are allowed to have a social life outside of 'work'. If you were to look at my social media account, at this time, you probably wouldn't be able to tell at first glance that I'm a Stoke City FC fan.

I certainly understand what you're saying and agree with you. But, we, as fans, and the team to a certain extent need to become the team that everyone hates to regain the bear pit atmosphere we all miss so much. Pretty much, it's only opposing fans and lazy journos' who still regard us as a tough team to beat(possibly) and a team of hackers. The team needs the media 'against' it to re-energise the backs to the wall atmosphere we used to have at nearly every match back then.

It's a shame Adam is overlooked for this position. He was constantly telling the other players where to position themselves against Newcastle. Ryan, for me, is too quiet and doesn't seem to organise the team in any way when they're on the pitch. Perhaps give Fletcher a go if Adam isn't a regular on the pitch, with Allen as his vice..

At least your 'never been relegated status' is still intact. Or, You started off great, but ended up failing. Bye dude and thanks for the experience of watching your team(s).

After listening to the radio commentary on radio stoke yesterday, Liam Lawrence, who was the co-commentator alongside Matt Sandoz(I think) made an interesting comment. He said that of any of the possible replacements, Roy Keane would be his last choice, mainly because he would 'destroy' players in the dressing room if they didn't play the way that he wanted them to, and that he'd seen it happen. His whole statement was made with a tinge of caution in it. Keane could be more of a danger than a rescuer if this is the case.

How about Jaap Stam? Reading are playing some decent stuff. His defender knowledge could come in really handily right about now.

This is pretty much my view too. Except the foreign stuff, way too many divers in those games. No more or less than in England. NSD, I think there are a lot more divers in the game abroad. It can be so stop start it becomes hard to watch at times. I agree with ya the there are a lot within the Prem and the other leagues, but nowhere near as many than abroad.

I'm first and foremost a Stoke fan, but I'll watch any game I can get my hands on really, be it English or foreign. This is pretty much my view too. Except the foreign stuff, way too many divers in those games.

8* from me. I thought Tymon was very unlucky not to score when he chipped the ball over the keeper.

I reckon I spend around £700 to £800 pounds including, fuel, season ticket, bus fares up to the ground from Kings Hall and cups of coffee and burgers etc.. This doesn't include my matchday bets however!!

Born at the Haywood, lived in Handley Street Packmoor until I was 5. Then we moved to Norton, both pretty much Vale hotspots back then. My Dad took me to Stoke vs Leeds, the match where Greenhoff scored the winner in a 3 - 2 victory and I became a Stoke fan. I do admit though that I used to go to Vale one week then Stoke the next when I was 14 or 15. Stopped going to Vale for a reason I can't recall but never stopped attending Stoke games, ever. All of my mates were Vale fans too!

Taking our lack of signings of new players, so far this season. I'm not talking about season long loans, but actual purchases. I'm wondering if there is a league table of Clubs that players are reticent to even look at because of the wages a Club will pay or not. I reckon that if there is such a table that Stoke City FC may be towards the bottom, if not bottom of it. It could explain a lot, if there is indeed such a thing. I've heard, probably off this messageboard, that Stoke don't like to pay a high weekly wage, but will make up for any shortfall in that area by a large signing on fee. How much truth there is in this though I have no idea. Mr. Hughes continues to state in the press that we will be getting new faces in, but there seems to be little or no movement of inbound players yet(apart from Josh Tymon & Kurt Zouma). I'm just a bit concerned that we're getting close to the start of the new season now, and if new players are brought in, that they won't of 'bedded' in together so to speak, except for on the training field. We'll never know what, if anything is going on behind the front door of the Club, but I would like to see at least two signings, possibly three. Those being a striker who knows where the goal is, an attacking midfielder and another defender.

I think keeping Hughes would be the correct decision for the Club, at the moment. There appear to be no better replacements to move us forward that I can see. Yes, some of his substitutions have been mind boggling just lately, but hardly worth him being sacked in my opinion.

I've never really realised just how biased those supposed footballing experts are on that show. But to totally ignore key moments in the first half, after saying that we dominated it, yet showing precious little of it, proved it to me last night. Footballing experts like Jenas<facepalm>, who, the way they talk about the game should go into football management, it would be a breeze for them.

It could make more sense to make the new seats into the family area. It's possibly the only place at the ground that has a guaranteed rotation regarding renewable seating. If this happened it could, potentially, release up to 1,800 new seats that could become pay on the day, or, better than that, an experimental area for the safe standing idea. Standing supporters take up less room than people sitting down after all..
The swap period usually opens about a week or so after the early bird period ends.
I was down at the ticket office on Friday. The bloke behind the counter said that they open the swap period 2 weeks after the early bird closes. The swap period lasts for 3 to 4 weeks afterwards.

I find it hilarious when 'bigger' teams fans whine their collective nuts off when they don't get the result they think should be theirs come what may. They remind me of NUFC fans to be honest.
A few of them are saying we were playing like thugs, I don't recall anything at all like that. Yaya should've had a yellow for the deliberate handball. Aguero was his normal diving self and the rest of them were clueless. I'm so glad we didn't lose, and but for Diouf's miss at the start we could have won it.
I actually couldn't get over how quiet their fans were...
