Has he even flown in for talks? I thought that was done to death yesterday. Why in the digital age do you need to physically travel anywhere to conduct a meeting/interview? People prefer meeting face to face video conferencing isn't the same. For such an important job a real meeting is essential.

Keane is just a one-note shock jock. Would imagine people get tired of the act incredibly quickly. No doubt people are scared of him, and unnerved by him, but I don't see that as a good thing. He's just a bully, and that's always a bad thing. If this is true then would Martin O'Neill who has always come across as quiet and thoughtful manager work with so closely for so long?

Rowett is my number one choice as new manager. But it just isn't going to happen. He's young, ambitious and successful. It would mean so much more to him personally and for his future reputation as a manager to get Derby promoted than to suddenly jump ship to help Stoke stay up. And that's regardless of any compensation package he is offered. If he can get Derby promoted he will surely reap the rewards in the future. Just my tuppence worth. Probably right and definitely right if he isn't our number one target.

yes definitely... actually re Wimmer going to stick my neck out & say that if we get a manager in who can organised a defence we will probably see a competent Wimmer. (not £18m pound worth of defender but solid enough), he certainly can't play any worse A new manager wont be able to improve his tackling, defending, marking, pace, clearing, organizing and heading will it? Well that is the idea behind getting a new manager. If players put more effort in they are generally better.

Far from the worst option but I really hope we can do better. Does have experience of managing a team suffering from long term underinvestment and pisspoor transfer dealings.

Bojan and Muni will end up in the Spanish second and Imbula will be stacking boxes in a warehouse I think you mean living on a yacht in Monte Carlo counting his money.

It will be interesting if in the next 48 hours there is no statement from Rowett or the Derby board stating that he is going nowhere. With a side currently lying in an automatic spot for promotion to the premiership, it's the very least that the Derby supporters deserve if there is no danger of him leaving. The silence is deafening. Our interest in him has clearly been public knowledge since yesterday as most of the papers are carrying stories of our interest this morning. I can't believe they haven't come out first thing this morning to categorically deny he is leaving to quell supporter fears. It would take 2 seconds to bash an email out to the news feeds. I could of course be wrong and they are offering him an alternative to our offer and don't want to disrupt those negotiations by going public. "Gary Rowett sign new 5 year contract with Derby" would put a stop to all the speculation and give him a pay rise.

How interesting Sky Sports News has also been told former Stoke defender Graham Potter is keen to talk with his old club about their managerial vacancy. Now, getting Potter in would be pretty fucking brave but at the same time, I think we'd all be excited by that? Wouldn't we?

Hughes will be sacked by Monday morning! I expect Davesviews to be on here tonight explaining the actions the board are going to take to get him out. No he won't and he won't be after we get hammered by united either.

Mutual agreement to cancel contract at Stoke? Sad really, the way he's going he might be the Barcelona hot dog man before long, someone needs to have a word with him You do realise that if a club cancels a contract it has to be paid in full immediately. Bonuses etc subject to negotiation.

Being honest, it’s already too late. The Board should have done it by now if they were going to make a change. Dithering only reinforces: 1. The Board had NOT considered this may be needed = zero succession planning or foresight. 2. In not suspecting this would happen tells me that they did not recognise the regression that has been blatantly obvious to the masses for some time now. How outnof touch can they be? 3. With no DIRECT statement, the Board are misreading the situation and therefore seem to have no affinity with the fan base, who are genuinely concerned. 4. The Board can only do two things. Back him or Sack him. To do NOTHING in the face of the biggest unrest for 20 years does not fill me full of confidence. The above concerns me as the problem could be deep rooted. If we somehow scrape survival I think Coates Snr will step aside with a massive sigh of relief. Back Him = Say so and ship £50m in a January. Sack Him = Do it and ship £50m in January. Compensation to a potential club, if we take a manager in employment + The New Manager and their team’s wage is the ONLY difference in outlay. Keep him and spend nothing in January and cash Butland, Allen and Shaq in the summer. Kerching

What are the board playing at... No suitable alternatives? Are you kidding me! OK... We keep hughes and continue in poor form. 1.Who Is going to sign for hughes in the window knowing he is on borrowed time and may not be favoured by any potential new manager. 2.how is the attitude of the current players going to change if hughes is still here. 3.if Hughes was able/knew how to turn this around it would have been done a while back. 4.hughes knows he's only here because there's "no suitable alternative". How bothered is he now in his role? 5.The vast majority of fans have turned and will be on his back at every false move. 6.The fans are losing patience with the board. Seriously what are the positives of keeping him on at this stage? Cheaper?

Not going to happen.
The crowd might get behind a new manager but they will only get behind Hughes to shove him out the door.

Not when you know the team haven't got a single pair of bollocks between them and a manager that couldn't motivate a raver on Ecstacy. Yep that's about it. This won't be a relegation battle it will be a surrender without any fight. The trick will be not to copy Sunderland and do the double.

With Coventry going for promotion from division 2 this season they'll most probably play a weakened team giving us the opportunity to topple the former cup winners. Their under 18s should beat us comfortably

If he was going to turn things around he would have done so by now.
I don't think the squad is incapable of avoiding relegation, they just need a plan and a a bit of confidence.
Only a change of leadership will bring these things.

We need to concentrate on the league Correct, but I'm not too sure if you have realised, our next game is coventry. Hughes also rested players vs chelsea and look what difference that made... NO FUCKING DIFFERENCE Third in league two won four out of the last five. Only conceded 18 goals this season. They will beat us.

Remember seeing him come on against Rochdale i think was not impressed to be honest one of there forwards went past him as if he was not there. He looked the part but he was very slow to react & was turned to easily. Might seem critical as nerves could have played a part but it was only rochdale & the game was won so he should have been relaxed & ready to show Hughes what he could do. Playing him against Chelsea could be a disaster. What's the worst that can happen? We get absolutely thrashed? They are 1/6 odds on to win we are 16/1 against.

Deciding he was staying on for a 5th season. Yes I think managers just get stale and loose their way after a few years, only Ferguson has ever spent many years at a club and not seen performances decline.
