Who would want to play for us at the minute?

it will be back him

I'm not sure they will. Mark will demand to be backed, the club will give him a budget and he'll spit his dummy out and he'll then leave by mutual consent when the club have had three days to sort his replacement out. Fingers crossed.

Who would want to play for us at the minute? We probably won't attract any more Barca players, but any young pro footballer on the continent who dreams of a career in the Premier League (not to mention a substantial increased income) will look at the table and think this is a team above the relegation zone that needs me to improve their position, and they would all be correct.

I’m not so sure they would Also Would they get a great deal at stoke? ....peter Coates isn’t going to hand out big contracts at this stage is he? to be stuck with players on long contracts and high wages in the championship

We need a defensive midfielder above anything else. Not getting anyone close to what Nzonzi did is the biggest reason we're in this mess. I'm amazed we still haven't been linked with anyone yet. Sick and tired of watching athletic Kante/ Ndidi/ Diame/ Capoue/ Fernaninho types take the mick of our slow Whelan/ Fletcher/ Adam.

Either way will need a minimum £200m investment in January to stay in this league.

It all brings back memories of Peter Coats last time around, anyone else remember the “Coats out graffit” on the wall next to the A500 where the cut through was to the old Victoria ground? It was there for years.

The Coates family are not gamblers They make their money from those fools They made an astronomical gamble by keeping Hughes in charge in the summer. Probably 10 times as big of a gamble as it is to replace him in the current circumstances. Chris Iwelumo could do a better job!

It's the first time tonight after looking at the tables that i really think we could go down. I always thought we would get through it this season. Got to be sacked as other teams have proved a change brings fight

The worst of this turgid situation for me is that in my honest opinion, we’ve got a squad that could quite easily finish in the top 10 with a manager who had a clue.

The board will end up doing neither now. Giving him the Coventry game will take us to the no man's land that is the middle of the transfer window. It will then be "may as well stick with Sparky". We'll lose to Utd (not a dicking - only 3 or 4 nil), we'll acquire a couple of uninspiring loan signings and then go painfully down the shitter.

Who in our squad would get signed by a top 10 team as it stands to play reguarly in that side - assuming they were free transfers: Butland - yes Grant - no Hauguard - no Pieters - no, lost it. Too much housewives of Cheshire Tymon - no, not ready Johnson - god no Edwards - no, not ready Shawcross - maybe Indi - yes but injured Wimmer - nope Zouma - yep Fletcher - no Adam - no Affelay - no Cameron - nope Allen - yes Sobhi - yes Diouf - nope Shaq - yep Choupo - yeah Jese - hell no NGoy - no Crouch - nope Berahino - no What makes that a top 10 squad 7 players out of the whole fucking team. One of those is injured and one out twat of a manager hardly plays. There has been a criminal penny pinching underinvestment in our whole squad and we reap what we failed to sow.

It’s all relative to how you’re playing, how your manager utilises these players, what system he deploys them in. Our players look wanker than they actually are whilst they don’t want to play for this buffoon. Butland Edwards, Zouma, Bruno, Eric Cameron, Allen Ramadan, Shaqiri, Maxim Diouf That side with a manager that knows what he’s doing would finish in or at the very least around the top 10. But we know football is all about opinions.

That side with a new right back, new left back, new defensive midfielder for Cameron and a new centre forward would finish around the top ten assuming you then also invested to ensure you have suitably quality replacements to cover injuries, suspensions and poor form. You are looking at the best part of 200 million quid if not more.
