In the local paper - comments suggesting we could be in for a shock when we see the state of their pitch (the ground is shared with Wasps Rugby club so does take a hammering)
Please no "Bojan moments " tomorrow
Comments also suggesting to get around this we will go long ball, and have Peter Crouch who can be very effective in these situations - in fact we will start with a strong line up
I don't think that their CBs are too tall
Interestingly the Coventry manager, Mark Robins has played alongside Mark Hughes for Man Utd. Hughes set up Robins to score the winner against Nottingham Forrest back in 1990
Coventry have hit some good form of late and despite the ongoing problems regarding having the Ricoh as their base, they are hopeful of at least a draw

Well our tactic to hoof it up to Crouch is perfectly suited to a muddy pitch

It is in a bad way. Not quite 'Baseball Ground' levels but very cut up.

Hope we play the youth & first teamers that have been struggling to get game time, they have an incentive to impress.
Get n'goy up front with Berahino in a 442

Hughes set up Robins to score the winner against Nottingham Forrest back in 1990 Isn't that a play on twisted fate? Hughes set up Robins in a Cup match to save Fergie's job... Was only thinking about this game the other day. It was very much a case of "Fergie Out" chants and vitriolic abuse at the time (but no keyboard warriors). He had been manager for just over 3 years and hadn't won anything with expensive player purchases failing to pay off. Good job they held their nerve and stuck with their manager... The pitch tomorrow could well be similar to what it was that day. An interesting chant a minute into this footage... I might well have agreed with it at the time (due to the shirt he wore); but what a class player! The outside of the boot pass for the goal was tremendous. Even Toddy Orlygsson (at the Brit for the West Ham game) played his part just prior!

Don't cov have a player same height as Crouch? Think tallest defender is about 6ft 3 Hopefully we can score without relying on height

Maybe we should just plough up our pitch and give it a '70's feel.
Can't imagine some the top 6 pansies would fancy it

So it doesn’t look like Berahino is going to start tomorrow either? He needs a goal. Give him the full 90 with 2 up top!

They certainly couldn’t play on a terrible vale pitch the other week. Young side who try to play football so it might make for an interesting match. My other half’s a Coventry fan so I’ve already started with the excuses this week

You don’t have to lump it.
The 70s videos of the likes of Hudson and Greenhoff show them dribbling by chipping the ball into the next bit of bog, catching up with it and doing the same again. Hudson slaloms through Citeh one time and does a one-two on the way to scoring, when the pitch was mud, sand and puddles.
Does amuse me when I see players passing the ball along the surface when it is not suited for such passes. Guess they’re too used to snooker table perfect pitches.
