Saudi were awful, even against what looks like an average Russian team - the centre-halves looked particularly dreadful...

I personally think its a shame that hes gone - his head has obviously been turned by his agent and the lack of game-time he got under both Sparky and Lambert. I honestly think that a season of regular football in the championship would have been the making of him - his work-rate was ideal for the championship, plus, with a decent run in the side, his end product would have improved considerably.

Should be the joint bid, but it will probably be Morocco...

Another solid signing - has a proven track record at this level, still young, strong, quick and can play as part of a 2 or as a focal point up top. The loan is only a formality as you cannot transfer twice in the same window. Welcome Benik!!!

Even though we were relegated we don’t come in until Round 2 Let’s hope we get Vale in round 2, settle a few scores Would love that, then fucking turn them over. Not sure if i would want the tie to be behind enemy lines though...

Cant say Im particularly disappointed, especially considering we somehow tied down my personal first choice for the job back in January. Rowetts our man, he is young and enthusiastic (like Potter), but he also has experience of managing at this level. Potter, as bright a prospect as he is, would have been too much of a gamble.

Looks like a very decent signing - has a bit of quality on the ball and is industrious without it. Much needed legs in midfield too

Hes seen about as much action as our oppositions goalkeeper under Lambert..... so... go figure.... Has he tried cattle rustling, maybe a spot of role play? I dont think the sheep likes being called Salah, or, if hes feeling nostalgic, Gerrard....

I once went to see a medium. Would of said she was more a large myself.😁 Most of them are, in my limited experience of them (trying to drag my mother, her brother and my nan from them as a teenager...)

You described your friend as being in his 30s a batchelor and most importantly a native of South Wales, I think he should have a good heart to heart with his SHEEP to see if she finds it has become a problem! Hes seen about as much action as our oppositions goalkeeper under Lambert..... so... go figure....

At what age does it become socially unacceptable to have a bedroom full of your clubs posters, bedsheets, pencil-cases, lunch-boxes. I was having this debate with a guy in my local in south wales who is in his 30s (he lives on his own) and apparently still has Liverpool bedding, pencil cases for work etc...
I must admit that i still own a Stoke City mug (as well as my shirts, programmes and of course, copies of the oatcake) but what do you define as a step too far after after a certain age, and what would that age be?

I think of the subject of depression. It becomes almost a constant companion. I couldn't imagine it not being there somehow; it's like it was always there even before it made itself known, even when i was a kid. I think thats pretty much bang on the money actually. Same for me to be honest - its only something i realised when i got diagnosed with it.

Talking of sheer sauciness and, More to the fucking point.just how the fuck have the clowns involved still got a fucking job? And to compound this, Adam and Haugarrd offered extended contracts ? Charlie was given his new deal in that massive brain fade that is now known in these parts as the summer of 17. Haugaard getting a new deal makes me personally think there won't be the sweeping changes we need, and them upstairs think that a squad with the likes of Fletcher and Adam playing every week will walk this league. Complacency at its finest...

Pickford is pretty awful. Pope has to be the man for the job. Pope isn't as good as Heaton though Wouldnt mind us going in for him - hes out of favour even after he came back from his injury because Pope has done such a good job, so wouldnt cost us the earth either.

Another shocker, some people finish on a wet wipe rather than start with one. Surely the whole process is to get you clean and dry, can't think of much worse than finishing with a wet wipe - asking for an itchy ring. too true that - you need something moist to take the majority away and use the bog roll to wipe up any remainder and, of course, to hoover up excess moisture from the nipsy area

We were lucky to be promoted with 79. It was a strange league that year. West Brom won it with 81! Is the 47.2 the amount gained on average by the team in 21st, or is it 0.1 higher than the average gained by the team in 22nd? The latter would be a truer measure of what’s needed to survive. That was a strange season to be fair - anyone could beat anyone else. Didnt Leicester go down with about 54 points too?

Im guilty of this deadly sin - but the results matter more than the process and, if my nipsy is clean, thats what really matters

I reckon he will do alright there - but the standard of football outside Celtic (and at a push Aberdeen and Rangers) is bottom half of league 2 standard.

I think the OP has jumped the gun. Granted, weve bought in what i think is the correct man to manage this football club who is young and hungry, but also has experience in the championship, but the next job is to cut the dead wood and bring in the right mix of grafters and those with the quality needed in the final third. Im reserving judgment until the end of August, when we will have got half a dozen or so matches under our belts.

Don't Google it folks, you don't know what you'll find But where are we with the aged eight, the 32+ brigade? These are their ages at the start of next season. 37 Peter Crouch 32 Charlie Adam 34 Darren Fletcher 34 Glenn Johnson 32 Ibrahim Affelay 35 Lee Grant 32 Geoff Cameron 32 Stephen Ireland I think Ireland was dispatched by text wasn't he? And Glenn Johnson is out of contract. Affelay ended the season on the naughty step didn't he, not sure if there is any coming back from there. Plainly some experience would be a good thing. What should we do? Out of that lot you can discount Ireland and Johnson - they will be goners as their contracts are up. I'm not sure about Charlie - I can't remember if he got an extension start of last season? Then, realistically, we won't see Afellay or GCam in a Stoke shirt again. They will both go back to their home countries for a last pay-day before jacking it in. Also, Crouch - he will have suitors - it wouldn't surprise me if he ended up either going to one of the newly promoted clubs (I would guess Cardiff) or returned to London. The only ones who will be here next season for definite are Grant and Fletcher.

I love SJW, but its a no from me - we need a young dynamic team, not another squad over run by veterans who are on their last legs.

I can't see us paying a big release fee for Rowett and neither is he worth it. There's not too much of note on his record. I hope we give him a wide berth. I wouldnt mind Rowett actually - look at his record. Burton - took a struggling league 2 team to the play-offs in his first 2 seasons and put the foundations in place for their double promotion winning team. He left them top of league 2 when he went to... Birmingham - Who were in the drop zone in the championship after surviving by the skin of their teeth the previous season. He somehow dragged that squad into the top half, repeated the trick the following season and had them just outside the play-offs when he was somehow sacked... Derby - joined them late in the season when there was no realistic chance of making the play-offs but oversaw an upturn in form. First full season he had them pushing for automatic promotion before they fell away, but still rallied them to the play-offs where they gave a far superior Fulham side a real scare.

Percy.. They have already begun preparations for next season by informing Stephen Ireland his contract will not be renewed in an email on Friday morning. To be fair, we did him a favour by extending his contract not once, but twice when he was in the final stages of his recuperation, even though he was not really part of our plans (he didn't start a prem game for a year before he got injured) at the time of his injury, never mind going forward....
