So it's still these shysters who are sponsoring the competition. So expect botched draws and fixed draws for Qtr finals onwards (like last season)... all conducted behind closed doors in feckin Thailand. Jeez I hate some aspects of modern football

The top teams are inside round balls and the rest are inside cubes,so it can't be fixed.

Will be held this Friday ( 15th) in Vietnam, mainly due to the sponsors again being an Asian drink called Carabao. We get a bye into the second round, as do Swansea, but WBA don't. Round 1 is 22 from The Championship, plus 24 each from D1 & 2. The second round is the 35 teams from round 1, plus us and Swansea, plus 13 teams from the Prem not in Europe. With 25 winners + seven teams from The Prem making it the round of 32. This season there is no extra time, except for the final, instead it goes straight to penalties. And the " ABBA" system has being scrapped, in favour of the old ABAB. The 1st and 2nd rounds are split into 2 regions. Seeding only comes into the 3rd Round, I presume the 16th highest placed teams from last season that make it through will be the seeds, so if there are a few round 2 Prem casualties we could well be seeded, if of course we are still in... And VAR will only be used where the home team is a Prem club, presumably as the rest do not have the technology...

There is not much chance of upsets because nearly all the lower league teams are out by the time the big guns enter.....What kind of competition is that???

Just West Brom in this round as they finished 20th Nice to know the win at Swansea actually provided a real benefit beyond the extra money for being one place higher.

I probably made that point at least 5-6 times when posters in here and elsewhere said we should just roll over and try to lose 5-0 in conjunction with So'ton falling by that same margin to send Hughes down.

I had no idea of that rule at the time. Kudos to you for actually being aware of it!
