In heartbeat! I would like this to happen! Get in a young hungry manager with fresh ideas and a fresh attitude. Plus if we do go down he has the capacity to rebuild us from scratch. Look what he did at Birmingham before getting wrongly sacked and what he is doing currently at Derby!
I would welcome this appointment with open arms!

It would take some convincing for him to swap Derby for Stoke at the moment. I mean realistically which of the two is most likely to be in the Premier next year ? I’d put it at 50/50

Rowett wouldn't come - Derby are going up. I wouldn't leave them if I were him. Look a right Bozo if we went down and they went up and he'd jumped ship!

Not so sure he'd see it as a step up at the moment. If he'd back himself to keep us up, then he'd be backing himself to clinch promotion with Derby.

We needed yet another thread on this? Why? Gouranga. How many Gary Rowett threads were there before I started this one?

Have a look, his name is mentioned in almost every thread that names a potential manager, there's even one from the Sentinel. Gouranga.

I’d put it at 50/50 If he sees a nucleus of players (which we have) who he believes he can motivate plus a decent budget i feel sure he would come, we are IN the premier league Derby may get promoted i think he would come.

Whether Rowett could keep us up I don't know, but if we did go down I think he would stand a good chance of getting us back up.

I wouldn’t be opposed to Rowett and think he could be a great appointment, but we need to stop with this nonsense that we’re already down. We’re a couple of wins away from the top half of the table, and if he doesn’t see that as a bigger opportunity than what he’s currently got at Derby, than he’s not the right man for us anyway.
We need somebody who’s going to inject some positivity and confidence into the club. With the right appointment and a couple of shrewd additions in the window, we should have more than enough about us to stay up and we can build from there.
We’ve got a chance at a fresh start and this defeatist “we’re already down” bollocks is helping nobody.

Like I’ve said for a while a lot of Derby fans are not happy with his style of football and haven’t enjoyed this season especially at home. The only way I can see him jumping ship and coming here is the fact that Mel Morris has said he’ll have to generate his own money for signings by selling the top earners because of the £35 million wage bill

No way we'd pay the required compo, is there? (even if we were still convinced he was the man, which could well be doubtful)

He's an absolute hoofer.
Man alive he's shite. His Derby side were diabolical in the play offs.
20 odd percent possession in a must win game. Launching the ball into the channels.

Keep well clear of him. Derby were abysmal in the playoffs and he's a bit of a hoof it merchant.
