Fleetwood - When Joey Barton inevitably gets the boot for poor results/poor man management/stubbing a fag out in the chairman's eye/all of the above

It had to be done - PL tried, but has proven himself to be what we suspected - that is, tactically and motivationally limited. A fresh start is best for all concerned without the lingering stench of failure and relegation hanging over the managers head.
Thanks Paul, but bye bye

Mid-June for the whole lot? I'd like to see Ireland given a chance for the next year. I'd keep Johnson if we lose Bauer and Edwards, which seems unlikely. Adam also, but he isn't out of contract. How did Haugaard do at Wigan? I think for me, they ALL have to go - Haugaard hasnt done anything in his loan spell (or his handful of games in the first team) to convince he is up to the standard required, Adam and Johnson are both liabilities whose legs have gone and Ireland did not contribute anything for a whole season before he broke his leg..

Johnson, Ireland, Adam, Haugaard - when are we going to hear that they are (hopefully) going?

Thought he did well, played the ball around well after a nervy start, got himself about and obviously got himself an assist. Very raw, but someone i would definetly have in my plans for next season.

They were dogshit. Terrible. Anti football. And some fuckwits want him back here. Say what you like about Pulis he was the reason we got in the prem in the first place yes he plays shit football but it worked for us. Kept us up and to a FA cup final Whats more, we were effective under TP - everyone knew their jobs, where they had to be and how to play it. Yes, it might have been 'reductive' football in the eyes of purists, but it allowed us to punch well above our weight for a good 3 seasons in the prem and keep our noses generally clear of danger when, on paper, we were probably the weakest side in there.

Decent manager in my opinion - his stocks taken a bashing since the Utd job, but hes the kind of manager who would suit this club down to the ground.

Retiring after Sundays game Vs Arsenal. Not the greatest player technically, but a good servant for this club, did the dirty work in midfield under TP and came up with a few big goals too if I remember correctly.
Good luck Deano - here's to a happy and successful retirement.

There seems to be some good British managers in the Football League such as Paul Cook, Paul Hurst, Lee Johnson, Gary Rowett and Dean Smith but I can't see any of them getting a chance in the PL unless they take a team up themselves. I hope we are talking to at least 1 or 2 of the above - we need fresh impetus next season, not the same stale ideas coming from a yesterday's man

Could be a canny appointment actually - to his credit he did a reasonable job with Derby both times he was there. Don't rate the guy myself, but his record isn't as bad as some would have you believe....
Boro Won League Cup Finished 7th in prem Uefa Cup finalists
Twente Won Eredivisie
Derby Play off finalists and would have won the league the following season if they hadn't downed tools when his head was turned by Newcastle.
Of course he's had his failures - England, Notts Forest and Newcastle being 3, but hes had some success too.

Happy with this statement but reserve judgement until I see it actioned Sacking Lambert would mean paying compensation for the remainder of the contract, activating the break clause in June doesn't Just tell him we are going to activate the clause - then pay him up till the expiry of the clause. Simples.

I know this has been done to death and I really don't give a shit but just got home and waited to post this 1) Mr Dog, spot on in your article 2) Mr Goulding. So are you . Now bearing in mind I didn't go home or away for most of the season, although a few, I have the following observations Palace second goal goes in . you leave, in droves, Really really really . Fucks sake I'm Stoke till I die at the end. Yes we are . Not halfway down the fucking road Guess what lots of Stokies were doing in the the afternoon . Drinking meeting up, being stokies and being pragmatic. The match is just a part of being a Stokie Relegation is a part of the wonderful highs/lows of being a stokie . it's shit, it happens and it will again . as will promotion As much as it pains me I've been watching Stoke for over 43 years (first match against palace as it happens) Its mainly shit. always has been We are stoke GD That's the joy of being a Stoke fan. I've been going since 95-96, so seen promotion and now relegation twice. How would I sum it up? Pain and heartache, illuminated by brief moments of intense joy. I'll still be here next season and beyond as this is my club.

It depends what team we put out - Swansea will put out their strongest side as, even if they beat Soton midweek, their goal difference is worse.

Who else can see the following scenario: 1.Lambert gets given the job. 2.We're midtable or worse after 20 games. 3.Lambert is sacked 4.The recently-sacked Neil Warnock is hired in his place. Nailed. On. Warnock has got 8 teams promoted to the premier league, would be a great manager for us He's had 8 promotions but not all to the prem. I believe he's had 3 - Sheffield Utd, QPR and now the Blooturds.

I will be 50 then....
I think this - I don't feel that we are going to be in a position to come straight back up next season if we keep the golden oldies - NOW is the time for a rebuild with the parachute payments. If we keep faith with those who have let us down this season, we are more likely to go down again next season. We are rotten to the core at the moment - let's use this as an opportunity to clear the dead-wood on and off the pitch, build a youngish hungry squad with and look to develop that way, getting the fans inside in the process. If we do it right, I think we could be back in 2 or 3 seasons. If we don't, or, worse, take the championship for granted (ie - think that the likes of Fletcher will be a world beaters) the consequences could be disastrous and take a generation or more to negate...

I think we blood a team with one eye on next season - bring in the young lads who have been out on loan if that is allowed and give them an audition for places for next season go with the following in a 4-5-1/4-3-3- Grant
Ryan Sweeney Edwards Tymon
Badou (hoping one of him and Allen stay) Allen Sorensen
Sobhi Bauer
Campbell
Put a few of the academy kids on the bench as well - if I was in charge, the golden oldies, Wimmer and Berahino would be fucked off immediately

He has to go - Hes failed his remit with flying colours. When he came in, we were only in the relegation places on Goal Difference and now we are almost certainly going to finish stone dead last. 1 win in 14, frozen out certain players with his divisive style instead of uniting us as a group, yet still bottled it by picking the same old dead wood on the bench instead of gambling on the youngsters, who, at the very least, would have a bit of fight in them...
Put it simply, he doesn't have a clue, we don't look a cohesive unit, don't look like scoring from open play and made Crystal Palace (and many other bang-average premier sides) look like fucking Barcelona.
