I don't think the starting line up needs changing after the Wednesday performance.
Having said that, Allen has looked the weak link in our shoddy system (UP TO NOW!). I'd hazard a guess with Woods now in the roll we've needed since N'Zonzi left, that releases Joe to run around like a man possessed and do what he does best.
Allen was one of our best performers for the last couple of years, a shaky start in a team that needs time to gel isn't going to mean he gets dropped. I genuinely think he'll flourish (for want of a better word) with Woods holding.
On the other hand, Etebo looks absolutely immense and is in my opinion, undroppable. So dependent on which system Rowett wants to play, there's gonna be some serious competition when everyones fit.

Anybody fancy cracking an hilarious one-liner about this? A chair is much worse than a pie, let's be honest. That's pure hooliganism. Granted, a chair is worse than a hot pie, but it's not the point. Why in the fuck would you throw anything from chairs, coins, food, drink over A. Your fellow fans and B. Strangers that are there for the same reason as you... to watch a game of football ?

It's wank as Bauer is Premier league quality, he's probably in the top bracket of earners at the club as he signed his new deal to get him off the relegation clause, but this is solely down to politics.
Scholes told Rowett to play Bauer. Bauer was then totally dropped.
I'd hazard an educated guess that Rowett is simply proving a point that HE IS THE Manager and nobody else picks the team regardless of how much you earn or who gave who a new contract.
My take on it is, Scholes has so much power and has his feet under Coates table, that he can get away with shit like that.
Rowett won't have it, and hopefully continues his clear dislike for Scholes and Co.
Yes we've had a bad start but I'm convinced we'll get going. With or without Bauer!

Ahh. This has made me smile.
"All pre-season was effectively wasted by playing 3 centre backs, a system which was dropped 70 mins into the first game. He seems to have no plan of action, no system awareness, no tactical nous, baffling selections and substitutions. Will give him a few more games in the hope he can change things around though"
Sound familiar?
Hahaha!

I've had the PM and can confirm, Scholes tried to insist Bauer played. End of thread. Was there proof or just a message as someone disnt want ti suggest it publicy ? I'd say the proof may be in Bauer's omission from the squad. Although they claimed he was injured on Wednesday. Tomorrow may give us some further answers I guess

On paper we should beat Hull but I noticed they won on Tues away at Rotherham. I’d love to know what the board are thinking right now. I’d make the Huddersfield match free for season ticket holders and a £10/£5 kids for non holders they need to try to keep fans on board. If we draw or lose to Hull and lose to Huddersfield I think we are in serious trouble and they will have to take a serious look at the situation regarding Rowett What situation regarding Rowett? Stevie Wonder could see that the issue isn't the new manager and his staff, it's the club that's absolutely rotten and to many people are coasting on lovely fat wages stealing a living. Rowett will be the one that faces the music ultimately but how many managers to you throw at a job like this before you realise it's not the manager(s) that are the problem its the clown behind the scenes pulling strings and leaving us with a huge wage bill and millions upon millions of pounds of transfers on shite.

Hughes and his holiday camp. That doesn't surprise me one single bit. All his interviews he was so cocky with the "we'll turn it around" "it'll be alright". His attitude clearly sank into that squad, and once the clueless morons in power sacked him with no back up plan, it went from up shit creek with a paper paddle, to up shit creek without a paddle in a matter of hours. Whether or not QSF did that u turn or not, it doesn't defeat the fact that the club SHOULD have got that replacement lined up WELL before Hughes was given the bullet. Hughes had to go, but we needed a plan and in hindsight, to let his coaching staff carry on was nothing short of criminal, they were all part of Hughes team, this holiday camp that's been talked about. I hope Rowett sorts it out himself, and we can only pray that the ultimate power John / Peter give Scholes and Cartwright an AK47 style bulleting and get this shower behind the scenes sorted before we end up like Sunderland And let's face it re: QSF. He almost certainly made the correct decision given the state we were in. Yup. He must have been tipped off about it all then. Spanish lads perhaps?

And I dont think it was Bauer who walked out on training, he was at the game last night. He's injured.
I'd imagine it was Choupo / Imbula / one of the outcasts that we can't give away!!

Looks like he was an ex coach.
Over 20 years experience in Professional Football Coaching (ex Stoke City) ranging from Youth Development/Coaching/Management/Operations from Mass Participation to Elite & Professional level activity.
But he's bound to have knowledge to some extent, and the comment "he's not in charge" worries me.

There's only so many managers you can sack.
When things dont go right under 3 different managers, then you have to start looking abit deeper into it.
Coates and co promised us changes didn't they? An overhaul? Where is it? What happened to that?

I think Rowett has realised that half of the lads that have 'stayed on' and all the hype about the key players staying, is essentially hype.
Allen has been hopeless, Bauer (strangely, considering how good he was last season?!) Shawcross as we've already mentioned.
Thing is with Ryan, the ridiculous clip over the top he constantly does. I got it under Pulis, when we had Mama up top. But Afobe? Why?
If we can see it, Rowett can see it. It was no coincidence when Williams came on we started knocking the ball about better.
If its possible i'd have Bruno and Williams against Preston, see how it goes.

Shawcross needs dropping as it is, not just the captaincy taking off him. But unfortunately we're so light in that area we cant.
Williams looked decent on his debut, but he 100% needs to focus on his form after a poor spell at Everton.
Allen is my shout, yes he's been, well... garbage the first couple of games, but he's one to lead and would make a good captain I think.
Don't agree that Jack should be either to be honest, everyone knows he'll be off the moment a real offer comes in, so its pointless.
The actual pot of players that would be in with a shout are essentially:
Jack Ryan (to retain) Bruno Allen Fletcher Allen
Anyway, back to the point of how we snap them out of it... I don't think we can do much. Shouting, booing, tweeting or whatever communication we have with them won't work, it's down to the manager to do it. If he fails then ultimately, Rowett is gonna get the boot.
Horrible to think, but imagine come November / December and we're loitering around that drop zone? It'll be another Hughes scenario, growing calls for his head and a replacement.
I'm convinced Rowett is the man for us, but it seems from the outside looking in, we're an absolute shambles, STILL!

I had to listen to the game on the car radio, it sounded like we barely got a kick of the ball and the outcome was that we got absolutely rinsed. World War 3 breaking out on here kind of gives the same impression. I expected to see this backed up with the numbers but the BBC shows and even-stevens kind of a game ultimately won by our defensive errors and Jack's lunatic decision to push another one in to his own net. Leeds - Stoke Poesssion 52% - 48% Shots 11 - 9 Shots on target 5 - 5 Corners 3 - 3 Fouls 14 - 8 Ordinarily as the away side you hope to get something with stats like that, I have seen teams win with much, much worse. Maybe we should have fouled them a bit more, with some proper concentration we should still have got something out of this game I would suggest. Yes I wasn't there. tin hat on! The BBC didn't include the effort stat then Leeds 100% Stoke 25% (and that's being generous) I look at stats on games that i haven't watched (well I did when we were in the Premier League) just to try and see how games went etc, but the stats for our game don't tell the real story The real story was, we were tactically outclassed, completely and utterly over run, out fought, out battled, and they could have had 5 or 6 goals. We looked MUCH better when Bojan & Crouch came on, and i'd suggest most of our 'stats' were clocked up in that final 10 minutes or so. Make no mistake Gods, we were terrible and if we're going to get promoted, we have to improve 10 fold

How has Badou got in the team yesterday and Imbula didnt?
Presumably Badou is showing the same effort in training as he did yesterday? Imbula has looked decent in pre season, like a point to prove.
So why start with a player (regardless of talent) that doesn't want to be here?
