"“It is with regret that I have decided to leave Stoke City Ladies. There are a number of reasons for my decision, the main reason being wanting to spend more quality time with my family" Yes, I had read the story. It just strikes me as very unfortunate that this came to a head at the end of the summer close season. It would surely have suited the club much better had the decision come at the end of last season. I just wondered if anyone knew a little more about the back story - especially the timing of the decision.

Andrew Frost who was the previous manager is the son of a couple of people I work with-I will see if I can find anything out John.

Does anyone actually care about ladies football? It is dreadful, although slightly better than Scottish football

Did we miss a trick by not investing properly in the ladies team when we had the Premiership riches?
We could have had a Super League team for a decade for the cost of an Imbula or Wimmer.
It's not only the Man City's and Chelsea's and Liverpool's and Arsenal's that have had the foresight to do this but also the Brighton's and Birmingham's and Reading's.
The women's game clearly has a bright future, you'd have to be some kind of rabid misogynist or stuck in a 1980's time warp to think otherwise.

I like seeing what they are up to (from afar unfortunately!) and they seem to be doing really well and improving all the time. It just got a little dirty for me when Manchester City ladies literally bought their way into the WSL without even having to start from the bottom and work their way up... almost Arsenal-esque in the man’s game.

Anyone see the football report on the Man Utd Women’s team.... another one ‚voted‘ into the lucrative WSL club rather than playing their way up and applying in due course...
Sunderland got kicked out (as did Palace I think) because of „financial concerns“....Mmmmmm it stinks to high heaven. I mean, the Donacaster Belles used to be one of the top teams but they don’t seem to have the right name....

The PL is uncompetitive and predictable due to a few teams having far too much money so what do the aurhorities in the women’s game choose to do ......imitate it. It deserves to fail.
