Rowett will certainly be here until the end of the season. For me the most sensible strategy would be to decide whether to back the manager with more cash in January. I would only do this is we look like we could make auto promotion, not even if playoffs were possible as thats a huge gamble and Rowett has form for bottling play off games. If we are well off the pace then the message to Rowett should be 'you had the players you wanted get on with the job'. Publicly verbally back him but do some feckin decent due diligence on getting a new gaffer in early summer who can get more out of what is a very decent squad at this level.

I have a theory as to why Rowett has such a hard on for McClean. It's a bit like Pulis and his puppy dog Cresswell hard working but lack any semblance of skill or creativity. Both Rowett and Pulis were very limited almost agricultural footballers, but succeeded by sheer hard work and so they empathise with the hard worker but limited player. Rowett says McClean is a good character, works hard and gives us some width. You can find dozens of such players in div 1 and div 2 who do just that. If a team has aspirations for progress and playing in a higher league hard work simply just isn't enough. I was baffled when we signed him, I am now just pissed off he is one of the first names on the team sheet. As a post script someone earlier mentioned Celtic as the team most suited to him. It would be a perfect fit and in that league hard work and an 'edge' succeeds, the hoops would love him for all sorts of reasons...Jimmy get your agent on the case.....please.

We have nothing to worry about in this division. Boro are on telly and are supposedly one of the best teams in the division. They look terrible. And yet they are cruising at Sheff wed and looking like certain 3pts which we couldn't manage. I am fairly sure that the top two at the end of the season will include Middlesboro and West Brom. Boro are organised and hard to beat and WBA have the most fire power. Must check the odds

For me, the best ever game was the 3-2 victory over West Ham in the 2nd replay of the old League Cup at Old Trafford in 1972. The Guardian's Sports Correspondent at the time, Eric Todd wrote. "Heaven inspire to find new superlatives. If I live to 100 I shall never see a game such as this". The game had everything and was fought out in horrible conditions (horizontal rain). The 2-1 defeat of Chelsea in the Final would not, of course have been possible if we had not managed to defeat West Ham in the Semi. This was really special not only because it was just a sensational game of football which had everything including a Gordon Banks save as good as Pele's but it meant at last for the first time in our history we were at wembley. In those days that was an enormous milestone. sadly every fecker now gets to play at wembley...that's why the stadium is no longer special

We don't look like scoring in a month of Sundays, barring a set piece. Croatia are letting Dier have all the time in the world on the ball because they know he can't do anything with it. Get him off and replace him with Maddison. Apart from hitting the woodwork twice and a miss by Rashford that even I could have finished

What does the phrase 'without a shadow of the day....' mean?? (spouted by the guy with the tits on the right). Maybe it's some sort of weird thing that happens in the strange world that is East Anglia.

If Rowett is going to persist with 4-3-3 they we simply have to have better options out wide than McClean Berahino and Clucas. Another Ince type player would be perfect.

Rate the manager, not the performance and its an 8 from me. I much prefer more creativity and attacking options in our team and he has them at his disposal. However he called it right at Norwich who were on a roll. We were comfortable all game and they never really threatened so the encouraging thing for me were how sterile Norwich were and they are supposedly one of the stronger teams in that league. To be so comfortably against a top half team away is good news. Now if he changes that starting xi with a more attacking formation and includes Bojan for the game against Brum, I might start warming to him....lets see

I really hope we don't see that starting line up too many times during the season. It's sterile and lacks creativity. If Ince has an off day or the opposition contain him there is literally nobody else who can create something from nothing. We have two excellent creative players who are likely to score in Ince and Bojan they should be regular starters. The Birmingham starting xi will be interesting.I have a bad feeling he will go with the same team as it's clearly his favoured line-up.

Come in to a club, do well-to-middling for a bit, fall out with everyone, engineer your own sacking, big fat payoff. What a fucking charlatan. While managing his teams to nearly 20 major honours....yes some charlatan!

Where's his next move? I'm struggling to see anywhere. Sun lounger and beach towel on the beach in algarve for the winter with the twenty million compensation in the bank Jesus on the beach on the Algarve in winter !!! Good look with that. More likely beach villa in Barbados while he negotiates himself a huge mega bucks deal at PSG.

His first full season at Derby was like this: 3 wins in the first 1O games and 15th place. 13 wins in the next 2O games and 2nd place. 2 wins in the next 13 games, and they drop out of the top 6. A recovery in the last 3 games, and they finish 6th with 75 points. A roller coaster ride but a play off position at the end. Derby actually blew their playoff semi final against Fulham. Rowett tried to park the bus after taking a 1-0 lead in the first leg. He left the league's leading scorer Vydra on the bench and managed just one shot on target....let's hope he learn't something from that experience.

The fixture list was reasonably kind to us giving us games against all 3 promoted teams 2 of them being at home and we managed just one point...shocking really. Rowett was installed early as a manager who knew this league and yet we floundered from day one. In stark contrast Swansea and West Brom both with rookie managers at this level have looked more comfortable and achieved 4 and 8 points more than us. I don't really want to hear more slopey shouldered blaming of others for this shambles so I am glad he isnt going to elaborate. Our awful start is Rowett's responsibility and his inability to get us organised and firing has cost us some serious points. Looking at the fixtures we really should be on around 17/18pts.

I guess it will be 4-3-3 for the norwich game in that case it will be McClean for Berahino and I don't really have an issue with that for a tough away game. The second change is likely to be Etebo for Bojan which for me would be very disappointing but again understandable for this fixture and that Etebo should be fresh having had a rest. I just hope the above changes don't become his go to team for less taxing games. We simply have to win lots of games to get even near a play off place. As for the Berahino or Bojan debate. It's a no brainer surely? What does Saido give you that Bojan doesn't? I am strugglng to see what Berahino offers other than hard work(finally). He isn't creative, he isn't an instinctive goalscorer, he isn't a lone striker, he isn't a wide player and he certainly isn't a No10. What am I missing?

Sadly he will be dropped for McClean, just hope it doesn't lower the confidence he seems to have regained. I like having him and Ince in the side.We have to win a lot of games if we are to get anywhere near the top 6, these two are key to achieving that.

I think Geoff wanted to go. Surprised but he didn't fancy hanging around. I suspect Rowett told him he want his kind of player.

In relation to initial question posed, Rowett may have already hinted his intentions regarding this. When Radio Stoke pressed him on Bojan forging his place into the starting line up for Tuesday he didn't deny that he's possibly on the verge of a starting place, but then he also said that James McCLean is due back in the reckoning for a starting place after leaving him out of consideration for today's game on surgeons advice. If it's out of Berahino, Bojan or McClean, I reckon on previous selections he'd go for the latter.. I found the McClean comment most bizarre. The interviewer didn't mention him and GR had no need to, nobody asked about him. It was like some sort of Tourette's, Bojan's been praised so he must mention McClean, weird. He has to cut that shit out, fans aren't stupid (generally speaking anyway...) He is so Pulisesque in so many ways The McClean comment could have been lifted straight from a couple of TP post match interviews where Tuncay had shone and scored and when asked if Tuncay is a big part of his plans he quickly suggested he thought Mama had been special! It's almost like the x-files As for who plays in his front 3 it will be his 3 signings irrespective of form and match fitness.

Dellilah's is a fucking miserable state to be fair, or it was the last time I went in. It's a fine example of the the club doing as bare minimum for the fans as possible. "It's a room, with a bar. That'll do pig. That'll do.. Should we charge an entrance fee? Charge an entrance fee." Tony ScholesLike a few others I haven't set foot in Delilahs since it first opened. I hadn't realised they had done the square root of fuck all to it. Is it busy? If so then I guess financially there is no pressure to improve the facilities. If it's hardly used then the club should rent the space out to a business who know how to run sports bars.

Well it's obvious that Rowett has no time for cup competitions. For once I don't care as we wouldn't progress too far and the competition would be a genuine distraction. All he has done really is picked all the fringe players and tried to fit them into some sort of formation. That's pretty shite in my opinion. But Etebo and Allen need a rest and Woods is cuptied. These players can have absolute blinders tonight and romp home, but only one of this team...BMI or Williams will be in the starting xi. The rest he's pretty much made his mind up about.

I think he'll go: Edwards Martina Williams Pieters Yes this. It's about as radical as he can go. Sadly I think he will find out it's no better than the lineup we have been using. we will simply have to stumble on until January when our crack recruitment team will find the next Sergio Ramos
