He is not quick enough and isn’t a particularly good finisher. Afobe’s pace offers more if we could get our act together and provide him with service. The mystery with Berahino of all our signing flops is where we saw him playing? Surely never as a lone striker? Imbula, Wimmer, Afobe all had clear roles but Berahino never did As an Albion fan (who has seen more of him playing than the long suffering Oatcakes) I agree with this assessment. You can add a list of WBA coaches who have failed to unlock the potential he showed as a 19 year old.
He is not a winger. He is not a lone striker. He lacks real pace, although he can move quite dynamically (when he can be arsed). His heading is poor, although if he is presented with enough chances he will eventually score one - as shown by his last goal. Played in midfield he lacks the vision to find a killer pass, does not track runners and lacks the technique to tackle. So, if your new man gets him firing (although in what role would be a puzzle), I for one will be impressed.
Seems like it takes a baggies fan to sum him up perfectly...absolutely spot on in every aspect grassy. And we still have a few posters on here who think he will hit 20 goals....christ on a bike!

Although not hugely excited by Moyes or Allardyce, they are very experienced managers and surely they would take a good look at our recruitment team and its record and find it not fit for purpose even at Champs level. I am sure they would heave Cartwright out of the door or bring in a new head of recruitment. Scholes sadly is almost unsackable, however he needs to be put back in his box marked bean counter and kept away from the playing side and recruitment

Some odd names being suggested. McInnes is often linked with a move down south but never happened and his star is fading, Johnson looks like another Rowett type and we know how that turned out. Huddersfield made a 'left field' appointment in Wagner. I can't really see the SCFC board making a 'left field' appointment but if it was me I would be talking to Marco Rose at Salzburg who is looking like he could be the next Klopp.

He is a sensitive soul isn’t he. No wonder he wins few headers and even fewer tackles. Since the start of our relegation season until today, when BMI plays we concede on average over 1.7 goals per game- worse than Shawcross and much worse than Williams. If I was him I’d concentrate on sorting out his own inadequacy. We need to cut Bruno dome slack here. You try playing footie while you have your hands covering your ears...bet it's not easy.

4 mid-table champ team away to div 1 team a draw is OK. Starting lineup was ok but we missed Allen's energy in midfield. Had no choice with the subs but came a bit late but 13 shots is decent however just 2 on target is dreadful but that's down to the woeful attackers we have. If it's his last game a draw seems appropriate for a manager who knows how to draw but not win a game.

For those looking for a more.. ahem how to say it upmarket venue, try The Boathouse on the river it's less than 10 minutes walk from the station serves shropshire gold and a decent food menu. Or if you fancy something even more upmarket again on the river is the Mytton and Mermaid at Atcham fabulous place with good food and only 3 miles drive from the ground. Wish I could be there

Looking at the possible Prem sackings, we've got to be in with a shot this time. www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1059655/David-Moyes-exclusive-interview-West-Ham-Manchester-UnitedMoyes "mad keen" on return to management
I was surprised he didn't bite in the summer as he's never going to be a sexy pick to sell to anyone but the unfashionable fanbases. Palace (not going to get rid of Roy any time soon. If they did, would definitely not be on the list) Newcastle (no chance of him getting it) Burnley (Dyche going nowhere. If there was a change, you could see it, but no hint of anything at all imminent there and they'd probably keep him if they went down) Cardiff (Warnock going nowhere - but possibly if there was a change) Soton (no chance) Fulham (no chance) Hudders (Wagner going nowhere, would probably even keep him if relegated. If they changed, his appointment showed they're quite imaginative) Surely we're about as good as it'll get for him any time soon? I can't see anything happening to any of them. Burnley, Cardiff, Hudders I think would all keep their manager if they went down. Southampton just had Hassenhutl, Fulham Ranieri, Castle won't get rid of Fat Raff, same for Palace. Someone on Twitter thought he might interest Everton if Silva goes, but I cannot see that happening at all. Again, as you say, Moyes isn't the 'sexy pick', and Everton have clearly tried to move to a sexier brand of football with Silvas appointment. I think Wagner's contract is up in the summer. He would be my choice an nows the time to check him out, but Coates seemingly will only appoint a British manager. It's an odd stance has he ever explained why?

Such has been his influence according to tonight's Evening Standard. That would be an eye watering £50m wouldn't it? Wow happy days we should get a decent few quid from our sell on clause......or maybe not🤔

Can't say I am thrilled at either of them....it's another lazy appointment from a board who seemingly can't look any further than the obvious candidates in the likes of O'Neill Moyes Allardyce. Be surprised if Sam was tempted, think he knows another prem opportunity will come along eventually. As for Moyes and O'Neill unlikely they would get a better option than Stoke if they fancied another crack at management. But things change rapidly in football.

Out of that lot it has to be Jokanovic for me also. Moyes and Allardyce hardly inspire. I posted on another thread maybe Wagner might be available as his contract is up in June. My dream, however would be Marco Rose at Red Bull Salzburg. Seen them a few times this season 18 unbeaten and breezed their Europa league. He's the next Jurgen Klopp

Not read the thread but not sure if Wagner at Huddersfield has been mentioned. Hudders look pretty much like they will drop this season without some drastic action. Will the owners there look for a 'Red Adair' appointment like Allardyce in a bid to keep them up and fire Wagner? Ok they are struggling, but were always destined not to have any longevity in the prem, his contract I think is up next June and if not available now he might be in the summer. He would be my choice before Moyes or Allardyce...but OK he is a Johnny Foreigner so unlikely. The underlying point here is that Huddersfield owners were able to make a realtive 'left field' appointment and went for an unknown managing a reserve team at Borussia. Similar to Wagner there is a rising star at Salzburg in Marco Rose...storming the Austrian Bundesliga unbeaten in 18 and they tore Celtic apart. He's probably destined for big things on the continent and has Champions League next season....but if you don't ask you don't get. Anyhow again he's foreign and I doubt the hierarchy at Stoke have even heard of him.

Christ when you look at the top scorers this season in this league you can see with a bit of smart thinking you can find a decent striker for not much cash... Abraham 16 goals...on loan Sharp 16 goals.....peanuts Maupay 15 goals.... a couple of mill Pukki 15 goals.... Free transfer Grabban 14 goals.... OK a hefty 6m Gayle 13 goals.... Loan Roofe 13 goals.... Around one mill Then we have Afobe 7 goals.....12 mill!!! Berahino 5 goals.....12 mill!!!
Jesus wept even Danny Graham and Frazier Campbell are outscoring them. What the fuck are our Technical Director and scouts seeing out there? This area of our club was never up to Premier League level, but it's obvious it's not even up to Championship level. OK maybe the manager demands these players but we need a strong influence at Technical Director level to say to the manager, whoa hang on a minute.

2 I guess at least we started a bit more on the front foot than usual and the penalty if scored might have made for a different game. I cant recall ever giving such consistently low marks for Lambert and Hughes, posters on here are finally realising it's not the players who are hopeless, they are being shackled by the managers formation and tactics. The players actually look more pissed off than the fans...it will be a welcome relief for everyone if and when he goes. It really isn't going to get any better.

I'm afraid that is bullshit. Jon Coates is best friends with mark Cartwright and has been since their school days. Try again! Your entitled to whatever you think. Try again He is actually 100% correct.

Campbell on the beach ahead of Bojan when we already have two strikers on it is just mental. Well he clearly has erased him from his mind completely and therefore sacrificed some genuine creative variety as bench options. I guess its experience for Campbell but in what parallel universe would see Campbell get on before Afobe and Crouch? It's a wasted option....bizarre.

It's an interesting analysis thanks for posting. It is possible for us to grind our way to the playoffs. Then what? Referred to as a lottery but it's often fortune favours the brave like Fulham last year who turned over Derby with Rowett benching his leading goalscorer for the second leg. The possible opponents for the playoffs are likely to include most of the current top six. Hoping for Derby or boro to be in that mix. Albion Norwich and Leeds at this stage are the stand out teams.

5 At least we won with just 2 shots on target. The starting line-up is now set in stone baring injury or suspension. The quality of football is unlikely to improve. 'Gary Rowett your football is shit......Derby fans are right aren't they?

His son goes to the same school as my friend's daughter so she's regularly at party's with his wife. Apparently they're looking at new schools for their lad as Joe isn't intending on being at Stoke for much longer. Can't blame him really. Pray tell which area?

No coincidence that the fifth round is played around the time of the next round of Champions League matches. It's a change merely to placate the big clubs who would prefer not to be playing too many games in February. Sod any lower league club who make it that far and would have looked forward to a chance of 2 paydays. The top clubs have big enough squads to cope with replays. Do the clubs actually vote to agree these changes? If so why vote yes?

After another good performance this weekend I think we can finally believe that we're as good as any team in the league. So instead of booing and moaning at the players and the manager can we please get on their side so they can get on ours. talking about home games, cause the away support has been brilliant. If we want to be proud of the players we need them to be proud that we're their fans. Just thought I'd put this out there before we get another game like Ipswich where the team put in a decent performance and win but we still leave feeling flat. Ipswich was a pretty poor performance considering we were playing the bottom team at home, the attacking stats were shocking and even GR admitted he wasnt happy with the performance. There has to be a significant improvement in our home form before your call to get behind the team gets much traction

He's a class act. Privilege to see him in the red and white stripes. He provided many of our highlights along with Arnie in the last 3 years. Unlikely to see that quality of player again at scfc.

Support for a club should never include excessive aggression or discrimination towards the opposition. This is the statement from the premier league. Read into whatever funny bone you have. Well support for a club has ALWAYS included excessive aggression or discrimination towards the opposition for many fans, its part of the football fans make up. If folk don't like it go to the ballet! Or if ballet isn't your thing you can go and watch just about any other sport and there are many where aggression and discrimination to the opposition is minimal or barely exists...try it it's quite enjoyable.

Like most pressers it's the same answers to the same questions. But it's often worth a watch to spot the snide little dig, usually at the fans but he got in a cheap shot at the Chief Exec 😀 which was telling. He is awful to watch as he doesn't visually focus on anyone or anything for more than a few seconds. ..very shifty demeanour. Have also sussed out why he blames everyone but himself.... He has incredibly narrow slopey shoulders 😀
