those of you thinking we are heading for the drop should take some positivity from the bookies. Our bosses have us at 16/1 to go down others have us 14/1 or 12/1. A tenner punt will get you enough booze to drown your sorrows for a week. warning though...the bookies rarely get things wrong

Just looked, there’s at least a dozen Korean restaurants (inc. takeaways) in Manchester so obvs some sort of community there. You’d hope that someone with half a brain at SCFC would have pointed this out to Junho and arranged visits etc I was in Liverpool recently and I popped into Seoul Plaza supermarket and cafe. It was absolutely packed, Liverpool has a large Korean student population and has some great Korean produce. Surely better than shopping at Tesco in Hanley.

The good news is of course we have moved away from the Manager overseeing everything finally with a Tech Director and head of recruitment. Lets be honest Martin's role is possibly the most important in the club. As yet I am not convinced he is the right man, remembe he was appointed by Neil as they worked together at Norwich. They were both fired after relegation the reason was given that their recruitment was poor. After that he headed up West Ham's academy, hardly a role that prepares him for the big job at Stoke. He should be under pressure if the next two windows are not an improvemnet on the last one. I have said for years now that we need a DOF/Tech Director with European experience and reach to work those contacts. This of course should have been done when we were flying in the Prem and could have recruited the best in Europe, sadly we didnt Happy to give RM a fair go at the job, but to me he sounds a bit lightweight for such a crucial role. Coates should already be planning a succesor.

Got to say he does seem very likeable and this is coming from someone doesnt usually like anyone I too have a good feeling. Having read quite a bit about him there is much to like. I like his ambition, his seeming willingness to learn from others particularly in Europe and the fact he is a Scouser, I know many and they are a good bunch. So I wish him well and hope hs career reaches the top because for a while he will take us with him. Welcome la !

Not since Queen's closed! 😩 I hate to say it but I'm feeling much more positive than when last four came! We're hopefully moving in a new, more modern direction. The pressure, in my mind, is really on Ricky and Jared rather than Steven, over the next couple of months! Ha Ha you must have had some of my sloppy seconds!

Well the board has a pretty woeful record for appointing managers and Pulis and Hughes were the only ones that made sense. So my expectations are very low the guy is about as rookie as they come so it's a bit of a gamble, at least it's not one of the obvious journeyman managers. So I wish him well and I am happy to see the back of the woeful Neil.

Just checked - confirmed at 8.10 on the Saturday evening But think Percy basically confirmed it within an hour of the final whistle Wonderful bit of research. Thank you. And along came Paul Lambert and the rest is history. SCFC board don't like making quick decisions and when they do that's what happens. I shudder to think who comes in next

Well he surely won't survive that shambles. But the board won't have prepared for a sacking. So I am terrified at what appointment they will make....surely not another Paul Lambert moment?

Its a good draw even if we get heavily beaten it's better than the huiliation of the liklihood of going out against a lower league team. Good news for Alex too, he ain't going to have a Mark Hughes moment and should be safe for a few more games.

For christ sakes people HE IS NOT GOING TO BE SACKED NOT NOW, NEXT WEEK OR THE WEEK AFTER. just not going to happen whether we like/or think he should be or not. oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/305392/axe-finally-fallen-on-monPeople were saying the same thing the day before MON went. "It won't be any time soon" was the assumption then too. And Neil is doing far, far worse. He would be sacked at any one of the other 23 clubs, so why not here? I would suspect that the board haven't done their planning on this yet and a quick reaction could lead to another Lambert moment. I really do dread the boards next appointent, they rarely get it right. They need help in finding a genuine seriously good coach probably foreign and Ljinders is a great shout. Sadly Coates jnr won't be looking far from the usual tired out of work suspects. Unless of course his mate at the pub has another Nathan Jones brainwave This season is a write off already and I believe Neil can keep us out of the bottom 3. The board need to do some serious searching for a new manager. first team coach ( ditch the rookie yes man Gallagher) and a top notch Director of Football (not appointed by the manager) in time for the summer transfer window.

Scot Parker knows how to get out of this league and he got the likes of Fulham and Bournemouth promoted which is no mean feat...and he would add a bit of sartorial elogance on the touchline

He is a really poor forward option for any team with ambitions of top half finish. He is heading for Berahino territory of 3 golas in 51 appearances. Currently 3 goals in 42 games. It's a shockingly bad record. We desperately need something better.

I doubt he gave Vale a second thought. He would be focussed on what personal statement he can make during the upcoming armistice day. Maybe he will return to a favourite...arrive on the pitch late and walk around the pitch during the minutes silence.

Too much money in the game for it be real. Managers are aware and players are, why the fook do you layers need hide there mouths as they walk of the pitch. What’s hide what’s not disturbing layer on pitch. I think I’m getting old. Want go back to the days it was carrying a decapitated head across boundaries. I haven't a clue what you are on about, was alcohol involved when posting this ? Chris, think it sounds more like an acid trip! Hope you are well and Barton are flying

I am the last person to get carried away and predict top 6. But looking at the last three teams we have beaten who are all fancied for top six I haven't been impressed by them and if that's our main competition then it shouldn't be fanciful. As many have said consistency and depth of squad are crucial. I think come january we shoe the depth of squad but inconsistency is still an issue. I guess we will find that out over the next few games. just in case there are any gamblers out there. The current betting odds to achieve promotion from the last 3 teams we have played are Leeds 1/1 Middlesborough 6/1 Sunderland 8/1..............and Stoke City 22/1. (generous odds from our friends at Paddypower). Worth a shilling or two?

Probably his 'best day at the office' since he came here. Thats because of the mitigating circumstances.... 3rd very tough match in 7 days Away at a team on a 7 match winning streak Had one less day to prepare and rest than the oppsition
He got the team selection spot on, much against the whining of many when they saw the lineup. Subs were spot on even though I was nervously twitching that he left it late.
So no other mark than a 10 well done Alex and thats from someone who hasn't been a big fan of his

This is such sad news. I have met Bill on a number of occassions when I had involvement in performing arts in Liverpool. He was hugely supposrtive and a lovely chap. His love for his football club never diminished and it was hardly his fault that he wasn't a mega rich chairman with unlimited wealth to pour into Everton. RIP Bill

5 He got a bit of luck today which to be fair has been in short supply for him this season. But he really has to stop picking his favourites when there are better options in the squad.

His obsession with Johnson is fucking odd Not relly managers have favourites no matter how good their form is (see Southgate) but arguably our 3 most effective players at the moment are Haks Junior and Bae.....and none of them start! Mystifying but this is AN to a tee.

Looking at the artist impressions it looks like a bigger version of the below. As long as it's not chucking it down or arctic weather it should get plenty of use, even in the colder months. No different than going the outdoor Christmas markets in somewhere like Manchester and enjoying a drink and food outside, big coat weather etc. Looks like the outdoor picnic area adjacent to the now defunct Little Chef off the A14 near Stowmarket! Not necessarily somewhere one would wish to dwell for any extended period of time 😕 I tend to agree with you so it's probably not for me. But I have longed been baffled as to why football clubs in general haven't shown the initiative to get supporters to the ground earlier and get them to stay longer. So overdue but fair play to the owners, I hope it's a success.

I know this is only a small incident but he took a free kick just inside our half with forward players around the opponents area. He played a simple pass across to the left flank and it was about 10ft behind the player which resulted in the receiving player being closed down and he had to pass back to Travers. A stationary ball and he couldn't make an accurate relatively basic short pass. Quite shocking for a player at this level.

Just out of interest because I didn't hear the commentary, how did he handle quite an iconic moment for the season so far, last minute winner by a rookie to possibly save the manager's job? Over the years Nige has produced some amazing, memorable radio moments, was saturday one of them?
