Our fans have been amazing so far. The players need to respond.

Lambert took Norwich from league 1 to the prem. He also nearly relegated wolves with unlimited money What are on about? His win percentage at Wolves is very good. And he wasn't their manager during the summer transfer so he basically spent next to nothing. Don't distort facts.

It is easy to jump to the conclusion that Paul Lambert has very little to offer However,a look back at his record suggests many positives... Lambert was given no money to spend in his last few seasons at Villa, nor at Blackburn or Wolves. I believe he left Blackburn of his own accord at the end of that season His win % at Wolves was very good when he departed at the season end (was there a change of ownership?) His earlier managerial career at Norwich and Villa was superb. He brought in many young faces at Villa in particular And he is only 48 - young but experienced Looking good? I agree he did great with Blackburn and Villa whilst spending peanuts, which is probably what made him an attractive choice to the Stoke board. Lambert could be a surprise. But then again it could just as well be a disaster.

This is an absolutely mental move by the transfer team. Why on earth are we signing players when we don't even have a manager in place. For all we know, the new manager may not want him.

Why would he willingly leave his job? When an employee is not performing the required task, it's up to the employer to take action and find a replacement.

He has just returned from a long injury and the last time he was rushed into the first team at this time last season, he got injured and was out for the rest of the season.

I love how the Welsh bloke that sits in front of me goes mental every time he scores. You wouldn't happen to be sitting in the manager's dugout would you?

He is off form is all but right now there's absolutely no question that we're carrying him. Like most on here, I would agree that we should be looking to partner Zouma and Indi next week.

In no way were Southampton glad to see the back of him. There were a fair few fans who weren't exactly sobbing... If you go by league position and win percentage, he was one of Southampton's most successful managers. But I suspect he won't be interested one bit in managing Stoke.

Balls out for AVB for me. If ever an opportunity presented itself to really have a go he's just walked away from his huge contract in China to go and compete in some shite rally. AVB has made it clear he'll never manage in the premier league ever again.

He’d have gone two months after the Liverpool cup game. Not to get in the way of your agenda or anything but we were 7th in the league in the beginning of April in his 3rd season in charge. But as for the question raised by the OP, no I do not think he would've survived under any other chairman in this league.

The players are putting in a lot of effort but there is absolutely no quality in this team besides shaqiri and west ham have him well covered. Hughes needs to pull out the video footage of the dive and show it to the players at half time. That should get them really fired up.

The question really should be are the Coates family in contact with some other decent managers who can step in immediately. If so, you're right it's a no brainer at this point. But worst case would be if Hughes leaves and this shit shower is inherited by that useless twat Mark Bowen.

People on here need to take their rose-tinted glasses off. It's Shawcross who's at fault for the goal. Say it as it is and don't try to shift blame. Not saying that signing Wimmer hasn't proven to be a colossal fuck up.

The manager is to blame for the overall state of affairs at the club but not for today's defeat. Shawcross and Wimmer were absolute garbage when they scored. Schoolboy stuff.

You're entitled to your opinion but the club is in a worrying state at the moment something needs to change, starting with the manager because the results have just not been good enough. But the club from the top down needs a complete overhaul.

In the end when the dust has settled, he'll be remembered as one of the great managers of Stoke city. At a time when the fans were divided and the club was in financial disarray, he stepped in and guided us to 3 consecutive 9th place finishes whilst playing some of the best football that I've ever witnessed in my life as a Stoke City supporter. There was a period of about 2 months in his 3rd season when we beat City and United at home and won away to Everton and Liverpool where I'd never felt as excited about a Stoke City team as I did then.
And I distinctly remember walking away from Anfield thinking to myself that although we lost, under this manager and with these players, this club is going places. But unfortunately since then, things just haven't worked out for him and on the whole we've been on a downward trajectory. And the manager certainly hasn't helped his cause by making one poor decision after another. But it was because of that promise that I stood behind him all this time until this moment. Now I want him to step down because with every passing moment he's ruining his own legacy and I don't want that. The club needs some fresh ideas and Hughes probably himself feels he could do with a new challenge.

He's a grade A cunt but to be fair, the interviewer was clearly provoking a response from him. It seemed like he wanted to get under his skin from the beginning.

Some people on here need to be injected with a giant dose of realism. Someone of the stature of Laurent Blanc or Luis Enrique is not going to want to inherit this flaming shit shower. Right now, Peter will be looking towards either O'Neill or Pearson.

I wonder if he's at that age where he just doesn't give a fuck anymore. In the past 5 summers, we've had a net spend of about 20 million, which is absolutely shocking. The club shows no ambition whatsoever to progress. Whoever the new manager is, Coates better back him with significant investment. If not, jut sell the club to someone who will not accept this constant mediocrity. That £20m is the absolute reason we are in this mess 4 years ago it started with stagnation and now regression , some. Could see its early signs and complacency , it's now apparent to all but sadly can't be fixed we have to take the pain and start again The problem is some people still think that £20 million is a significant amount of money in this day and age. It's absolute peanuts. A club whose chairman isn't willing to invest is doomed to begin with. We've had decent managers in the past who've been able to make do with the meagre investment but long term, this is a recipe for disaster.
