Hands up here, I thought he was truly crap when he first arrived. However, once he moved into the centre, we saw what a great player he is. His injury screwed our season up last year, but now he's clearly fit, why is he not in the starting eleven? I'd play Allen or Cameron as the holding midfielder and Afellay as the creative force in the centre. This is a serious mystery to me and I'd appreciate the thoughts of the rest of you.

He has just returned from a long injury and the last time he was rushed into the first team at this time last season, he got injured and was out for the rest of the season.

We need someone with more presence. Affeley has some strengths but his weakness just contribute to the lack of substance we have in the middle of the park. Joe Allen should take us to court for the amount of work we expect of him.

Comical how this has happened several times in two years yet our “management “ hasn’t managed to change that.

Having said that, the midfield (Allen excepted) is really poor- perhaps Affelay may at least pass the ball to a Stoke player even if he is only going to pass it sideways.

The football genius Joe Allen is keeping him out. Once Affellay can run round like a headless chicken and give the ball away 9 out of 10 passes he may stand a chance or it maybe Fletcher,s idea of disappearing without a trace in the centre of the park that is keeping him out.

Oh absolutely and a great assist for the goal.

Would that be the same Joe Allen that created our goal today, wins the ball back more than any other player and runs himself into the ground for our team? You have to have the ball to play pretty passes

Afellay will undoubtedly start against Chelsea, in a match we're undoubtedly going to get dicked in and he'll undoubtedly never start again before undoubtedly being sold for 50p in January.
Undoubtedly.

Are you fucking stupid? Allen scored on sat and set up the equaliser today, he's easily one of our best players.
