Effortless, what a beautiful sound that word has...  not a lot to say really, Sparky used the game well to keep the wider squad involved but made sure we weren't likely to be troubled, and at this stage of the season with our opening fixture list every chance to build confidence and get some momentum going matters. 8 from me add * if you were there please |

You can only beat whats in front of you and i can`t remember creating so many chances and having so much decent play for years and years.

5 when I saw the team rising to 9.5 at 90 minutes. Very little more you can ask, although it wasn't exactly the sort of game that required much clever managerial input.

Thought berahino would have had an opportunity to get a goal to give him a boost for the weekend.
Good to see sobhi get on the scoresheet too.
Tymon has potential as does verlinden.
Weakest player was bojan. He does look a little bit lost.

we were very good in the first half. and ok in the second. Hats off to Joe Allan who was part of everything good that we did in the first 45. Fair enough to rest him for the second but I didn't think fletcher was needed, would rather have seen Charles drop back and given bera a run.

8 Picked a clever mixture of youth experience and fringe players and resulted in some god play and goals. Drops points for not giving Bera a run out, a goal might have improved his confidence before saturdays game

9 from me. Picked a side to get a result and rest plenty of regulars and it worked. Blooded some youngsters. Inspired choice (risk?) of Pieters at right wing back given lack of alternatives. No one saw that coming but it paid off.
Downside is that I thought Berahino could have been given a start or at least 45 minutes. But, overall a good 9.

10* Sparky sent out a strong team who played well and gave the youngsters some proper minutes. He was off the bench and striding around the technical area as much as a Prem game. 4 nil could have been 7 or 8. Can't fault him. EDIT: Excellent thread by the way  |
