You’re seriously still going on with this Bursik being good nonsense??!! I told you at the time that he was rubbish and would be dropped for Bonham. He was then dropped for Bonham….. You’re claiming that Bonham was worse and that Bursik was in fact dealt with wrongly??? How about you were absolutely wrong about Bursik, he was rubbish, and that’s why he was dropped and replaced by a better keeper in Bonham. That’s called football and being selected on merit. That’s how you are “dealt with” when you throw one in your own goal every other match. No, I haven’t said he’s good 🤣🤣 Bonham is worse though, that’s pretty obvious. Only obvious in your mind, Bayern! Don't forget your opinion isn't the same as the answer, but of course you're entitled to it.

I'd prefer Bonham to Bursik every time to be honest! Still I think we need an upgrade, and from what I've seen of Sarkic so far I really think he is. Hopefully he'll stay fit for the whole season this time though.

Not to say a negative word about Rory, but I honestly think Glen Whelan is a very different character. I see Rory as a very nice bloke, but Glen Whelan is more the kind of guy to demand something from the players. If they aren't trying to improve their weaknesses or don't work hard enough Glen will be in their faces straight away. I really believe Glen Whelan will become a hell of a coach and manager one day! I agree, but could today's pampered delicate players cope with a good old fashioned in yer face rollicking Roy Keane style. If they can't they might not have what it takes?

Not great if true. That said I think it was the fact that we didn’t have a genuine DM that could pass than Pearson was exceptional. Good player though and I’d be happy if we did get him. I think there are plenty of other Pearsons around, especially at this level, he was absolutely shit in the last 4 or 5 games too. I honestly can't see many midfielders who can dictate the play better than Pearson at this level. He'd certainly be my number one target for next season together with a decent target man.

After we started playing with two central defenders I really thought he made big strides forward as a central defender. I was unsure about Wilmot, but think he played ever so well after we went for 4 at the back.

I wouldn’t be surprised if glenn whelan ends up here as a coach I'd really love that, a coach with exactly the right attitude to football!

Baker really should have scored but instead he acted like a turtle to make his neck as short as possible, awful header!

I thought we played quite well for long spells, but again our problems in both boxes let us down.
Sarkic 7
Sterling 6 Jagielka 6 Fox 6 Tymon 5, despite putting some good crosses in I think he should have done better for their first goal.
Thompson 6 Pearson 7 Laurent 6
Smallbone 5 Campbell 5, think he had opportunities to do better several times. Powell 6

Middlesbrough because they will always be up there fighting for promotion. They have more resources too than the other 3 I guess.

If we sign Pearson, a decent targetman and fast tricky winger I guess it will mean 10-15 points more next season. Another central defender, an attacking midfielder and a couple of fullbacks and we will have a chance to reach the playoffs too. Look at the playoff teams, two of them we have beaten with 4 goals away, Luton is really a midget club and Middlesbrough couldn't beat us either. It must be possible to be up there.

From what I've seen of Celina so far I'd rather have kept DWP at the club. Never understood the Celina signing at all, for some reason Neil thought he's a winger but he's not. Could only work with him in an attacking mid position, but I honestly don't think he is good enough.

Bland, more of the same please… Depends on the new signings! We have beaten two of the playoff teams by 4 goals away this season though so there is potential.

What an end to the season! Not winning one of our 7 last games, losing our last 4 home games, ending with our worst total of points since we were relegated and in need of building an almost new team for next season! Well, it can hardly get any worse than this season anyway!

It was a very strange game as we played ever so well for half an hour, then the game became more even but we scored. I really thought we would come out flying in the second half, but we looked totally deflated! It really didn't look the same team and we deservedly lost the game.

Would anyone take Keinan Davis as a target man? Played 33 times for Watford this season, so seemingly over his injury issues. Yes, only 6 goals but his game is perfect for the Championship and I reckon he'd drag more out of Campbell. That is twice as many as Gayle and Davies can even hold the ball up!

We certainly need to look and hard at him before considering signing him which it looks like we did in the last window I would have thought. That was a panic our next CB pairing don’t need to be. I could live with a pool of 2 new starting CBs Tuanzebe Fox Taylor Anything else would be nuts Wilmot will play.

I really like Laurent because of his pace and power. Maybe he would be even better with two more defensive minded midfielders around him. He doesn’t use it though. He plays like a big fanny most of the time, hiding. He has the tools to be really good but just doesn’t use them. He’s been awful for the majority of his time here. I think he has been one of our better players after Christmas, and especially when we had that short good spell in March.

Well I’ll add something to this, I wouldn’t be unhappy with all three of our strikers leaving. Gayle finished, bench for a season on big money. Not a Brown fan at all. Talentless, unintelligent footballer but he runs a lot. ( if Millwall make it up hopefully Rowett comes back in) and we’ve been waiting for Campbell to perform for ages. Maybe a case of he needs a move as it’s not going to happen at Stoke. Good finisher but rest of game is poor. Being honest I’m bored of our front line. It depends on what we can bring in really. Campbell is useful when playing out wide and Brown is also useful if we want to go for high pressure football, which was when we played our best football this season. We have been crying out for a targetman the whole season though, one able to hold the ball up and win headers in the box. We also need a tall and mobile central defender to play alongside Wilmot, Fox and Taylor are decent enough back up as I see it. Jags is OK when the play goes on in front of him, but he struggles when the ball is played into the space behind him and isn't the same in the air any longer either. We certainly need to let him go now. Tuanzebe is a too big risk because of injuries despite being the best in the division when fit.

I want us to go for Pearson, but maybe both? Both would be ideal. Laurent needs to be a bench player. I really like Laurent because of his pace and power. Maybe he would be even better with two more defensive minded midfielders around him.

I keep reading how vital the signing of Pearson is, but if Watford don’t take up their option to buy Hamza Choudry I think he’s be a great signing and he’s 3/4 years younger I’m guessing? I want us to go for Pearson, but maybe both?

Gayle has really just had one good half since he arrived and that was the second half vs. Sunderland.
