If we do have to put up with Hughes for much more can he at least stop persisting with this fucking wing back formation that clearly doesn't suit the personnel that we have.
The bloke has all the tactical nouse of Lord Cardigan!

If the Keane turns up that turned up at Ipswich, I'd rather just have O'Neil. The man that made Jon Walters send him a picture of his own vomit to prove he was actually sick in the lead up to his transfer from Ipswich to Stoke.

Mick spends his days covering Ipswich games these days on BBC Radio Suffolk. Not sure PC could compete financially with the might of BBC local radio.

Agree it's an all round clusterfuck & seems like we're now in survival mode every season. Needs changing starting with Hughes IMO

We need a mixture of all sorts of signings. You shouldn't limit yourself. We need to get players from the Championship, from abroad, from wherever really. More importantly is the type of player they are. We need to get a manager in who knows how he wants to play and buy the players accordingly. We haven't done that. We've chased players and not had back ups. We've signed players because they played against us Ina friendly. We changed our whole philosophy formation wise because Hughes watched Joe Allen in the Euros. And then signed him and based on that. We took 3 months to sign a loan player when we already had a deal to sign him. We've loaned a player who has so many things up with him I can't be arsed to list them. We replaced our best attacker with said loan player. Etc etc There has been no plan. It's been hap hazard at best, a complete cluster fuck at it's worst.

Why on earth would the Bristol City lads come to this club?! They may not but I'm more using these type of players as an example. These are the type of players we should be scouting & bringing in to build the nucleus of the team. Our team is like a patchwork quilt at the moment some down to injury but mainly because of our bullshit transfer policy.

Aden Flint - Centre Half (Bristol City) Tom Cairney - Midfielder (Fulham) Ollie Watkins - Forward (Brentford) Bobby Reid - Midfielder (Bristol City)
These are the type of players that we should be targeting. Top Championship players who would: a) Relish the step up to a club like Stoke b) Give their all as young hungry pro's that want to prove & better themselves
This is the model Burnley predominantly choose to go down & one that Stoke once used when signing the likes of Walters from Ipswich. Obviously these clubs would stick a premium on them as young British players, but I'd rather watch these lads give their all for a club that they would be proud to play for, instead of these shit house mercenaries who represent us at the moment who clearly see us as a safe haven & easy earner (knob jockey Wimmer), or some of the shite that we get linked with every transfer window.
Our Transfer policy needs an utter revamp. If we even have one!

Plus if you want a drink at half time & it's raining you get soaking wet.
The ground has character but let's face it is years out of date for a Premier League ground.

Hughes needs to start trying to blood some of the academy boys.. Can't think of the last home grown player to become a regular fixture in the side.

Can't see how that screen in the new corner will be duel sided.. Those structural members look to be supporting it from the rear in the photo.. Not that it matters to me!

1-0 up against Man Utd... Parks the bus.. Draw 1-0 up against Chelsea... Parks the bus.. Loss 1-0 up against Liverpool... Parks the bus.. Loss
He brought Whelen on to grind out a 1-0 & we immediately lost any impact going forward (our best form of defence) We're then chasing the game with 2 defensive CM's.
Whilst he sets up to stifle teams with this approach instead of attacking, most of our fans will never warm to him.

Ipswich are a shambles under McCarthy. A big club like that doesn't deserve to be run in to the ground the way it has! But harsh that as It's not McCarthys fault it's run like it is ....he's had no funding of any note for players He's just the manager who works under constraint You are right Werrington Evans gives him pennies to spend & he is a decent man who is doing his best. All I will say though is Lincoln showed last night that you don't need millions to play an attractive brand of football. The fans have had enough of paying £35 per ticket to watch what was witnessed last night on a regular basis. Many are refusing to go back until the football improves hence the 17,000 crowds.

Hope they price it well so we can pack the place out & create a din. Can't stand yam yams! £15 a ticket should do it.

Ground only responds to Delilah & when the reds go marching in at present.
To much expectation from fans to turn up & roll the opposition over. Hope the new corner will breath some life in to the place.

I'm an Ipswich fan but am a season ticket holder in the Boothen with my Stokie wife. Whilst I'll never totally give up on the Town I find myself very fond of the potters & spend 90 minutes shouting & singing for them. Not possible to change your team completely imo but I'm definitely a proud adopted Stokie.

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-38090956Looking like quite the well behaved club these days. Well maybe not but some interesting figures there for some teams. No wonder Turf Moor always looks empty when the dingles play.

In a way it's a backhanded compliment. I know at least 15 big teams in the championship who would dream of being 'average' Premier League sides.
Watford have always been a bit precious. Probably their club ambassador rubbing off on them (not literally)

I have for many years sat in the Q-Railing stand but today for the very first time in forty years I watched the game seated in the Boothen End. It certainly gave me an insight to some of the mentalities I witness on the Oatcake Fanzine. The result today made it a doubly disappointing day. Throughout the game I had to endure a cacophony of foul and abusive language directed at ref, linesman and players regardless of whether they were right or wrong eg. How the hell can you know if a player is offside or not when standing at ninety degrees to the offside line? Stoke were forced into making changes and it soon became evident that Bournemouth were the better team in the first half. I was very disappointed with Charlie Adam who was not at the races. Allen worked tirelessly with little support and our two wide football celebrities just did not turn up. The goal we conceded was very poor although it was a great delivery. I think everyone was expecting better in the second half and we immediately got a chance with a penalty. Should Bojan have been taking it. He wanted it but having kept hold of the ball he did not look confident. It was a major disappointment for him to miss as I think we could have gone on to win but heads really dropped with the miss. For thirty minutes we showed little resolve and very little width. I could understand Crouch coming on for Bony. A major disappointment! BUT Walters? Shaqiri should have taken Bojans central role leaving a wide spot for Sobhi. Judgement is affected when clouded with disappointed and poor result but Stoke City will not move on until players such as Walters, Crouch and Adam are heroes of our past. Shaqiri and Arnautovic finally came alive in the last ten minutes. They need to realise that that effort and determination is needed over the whole 90 minutes. I was hurting inside this afternoon but at no time would I ever have taken my feelings out on my fellow supporters. I've seen and experienced foul and abusive behaviour from my own supporters far too regularly this year. I have no doubt there are some great people in the Boothen End but unfortunately the few are making it a cess pit. I will not be going there again in a hurry. I shall return to the Q-Railing. I think it's always been a common theme among football fans to appeal for everything, even knowing that what they are appealing for is incorrect. I was as guilty as the next man on Saturday, & do it in the hope that it will influence the officials. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I just wish that the crowd put as much effort in to actually creating a positive atmosphere & singing some songs, as this season has been nothing short of flat.

I thought that the atmosphere was reasonably flat as well. To much moaning & groaning when the ball was played along the back 4.
Although Delilah was very loud until we got cut off due to nearly scoring a 4th goal.

Ipswich should be in there really. Won the League, won the FA cup, won the UEFA cup & produced England's finest 2 managers (Ramsey & Robson)

Hello to all. New here & just introducing myself to the board.
With the proposed plan to fill in the scoreboard corner next summer, does anyone think that it might be a good place to put the away fans? Personally I feel they get it too cushy at the moment having nearly the whole stand & being next to the tunnel possibly motivating their team. I'd love to cram them in that corner & have our lot screaming at them from both sides. There's no doubt that our ground is one of the best grounds in the League for intimidating away teams, but I think that the sight of our fans on both sides when coming out of the tunnel could add a psychological edge.
Anyone actually care or have any thoughts on the matter?
