He's had some good times here but it's time for a change. We need to look to the future as much as we look back. The fact is I do worry about a Mark Hughes led Stoke City next season, as I can't see it improving on this season (which has been pretty dull).

He needs to go to the championship or maybe back to Scotland to continue his career.

I hope their boyfriends/girlfriends/partners/whoever will come with them next season, to show what a welcoming place we are to watch football and how we're in the 21st century...

Can't see Vale getting anything at home to Sheff United today, unless they've been on the piss all week. Gillingham, Shrewsbury & Swindon all have winnable games.

I hear Sheff United's away following today is bigger than Vale's average home crowd...

Yeh we've been playing silky football too, no hoofs up to Crouch and Walters at all No doubt you are one of those who moans when we pass it backwards and sideways referring to it as tippy tappy shit. Now we are too direct. Bojan is lightweight, gutless and crap. That is why he is struggling at both stoke and mainz. He needs to grow some bollocks, knuckle down and get rid of his feelings of "entitlement" and start proving he's good enough to be at our club. Bojan? Entitlement? Lol.

Would be stupid to sell him. He's still one of our better players.
Granted he's had some of his worst games in a Stoke shirt this season, but he's also had some of his best.
And with Bruno not ours yet, Muniesa likely to leave, Sweeney still young it would be reckless to let him leave.

Its the future of football hosts I think. There are only a few countries who could justify hosting it without the cost, USA Germany England. Canada for example has the transport infrastructure but has few stadiums big enough. It'll be 2026 Canada Mexico USA 2030 Argentina Uruguay 2034 England Scotland 2038 China 2042 Australia New Zealand 2046 Eastern Europe Maybe Spain/Portugal in 2034. Might be 2066 before we get a go... Good point, although I reckon we might pull out all the stops to host 2034. Scotland co-hosting might seal it.

After the money spent and period of time at this level, we should be hoping for more than 'we'll be fine'. What, you mean like Aston Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland? It's a tough league that is highly contested and congested by the pack. The top 6 + Everton have all improved their squads. We might just finish ahead of last year's Champions yet. those 3 teams went down/are going down due to mismanagement off the pitch. We're only six points ahead of one of the most mismanaged football clubs ever seen in the premier league, with a poorer squad.

Let's face a few things with Bojan.
He (& Imbula) were both dragged off at half time against Wolves, and are often the two who receive the most blame for that result. Yet the person who was responsible for our other cup exit is rewarded with constant starts & sub appearances (the latter didn't stop him being taken off on saturday)
He is known to have anxiety problems, which are part of the reason he ended up here. A point that many on here probably don't recognize, instead they'll tell him to 'man up' or whatever nonsense. Dropping him after a good game (Leicester at home) really doesn't help.
The idea he has no desire to play football is rubbish. Why would he go to Mainz then?
I hope he gets over his anxiety issues and comes back to Stoke under a new manager and has a great time

One of our best players and should be I the team
Droppig him is absurd and shows how the manager has lost the plot.

Unfortunately he should take whatever permanent move he can as he has little chance of making the 1st team given recent history. How many academy players have actually broken into the 1st team in the past 15 years as a regular? Less than 5 I'd say - I can only think of Wilkinson, Dickinson and Shotton in recent years and the last 2 are a tenuous use of the word "regular". We seem incapable of either producing the players or giving them a chance, not sure which one is right, but either way there's something wrong with our youth policy and has been so for years. At present the Academy is a waste of money and talent. You have to feel sorry for the lads - what aspirations can they have when they never see any of their peers make it into the 1st team, and I don't count a few games as sub in a league cup game as 'making it'. difference being with Sweeney is that no other player has played as well as he has at such a high level. This is different from Lecgyne getting a few minutes at Doncaster, Shenton on loan at Wrexham, whatever. I'd have him in the squad for next season, first half at least.

Manager - either Hughes or a new one. If it Hughes (I hope it's not), he needs a kick up the arse big time
Squad - I think an overhaul would help. Given, Haugaard, Wollscheid, Ireland can go Bachmann, Bardsley, Adam, Crouch can go depending on what happens Muniesa, Imbula, Bojan, Shaqiri, Joselu are likely to go (I want them to stay)
We need a young right back, Bruno signed up, left back, defensive midfielder and maybe another striker (oh and replacements for Shaqiri & Bojan if they leave)
Pre-season - a proper one. Not 4 friendlies and a kick about against Orlando City C or whatever.

He got dropped after a good performance v Leicester. He's a confidence player so no doubt that wouldn't have helped (The 'man up' people on here will disagree)
He & Imbula were dragged off against Wolves at half time in the cup. Yet certain other players in that midfield 2/3 have had worse performances than those two in that game and they start the new game.

He knows the game better than anyone on here. He sure does and knows the game better than any of us that is for sure. Also bang on with playing 100% players, it should be a given that players give there all for the cause, but unfortunately it is not and we can't have ponies like Imbula, Shaq, Imbula, Johnson and even Arnie at the moment poncing around. Old school in until we find some genuine replacements until then let's be grateful we have these type of players still available to us I'm not gonna be grateful that a established Premier League club has championship standard players playing for it just because they're british. And Arnie doesn't ponce around. He's our best player. Infact I'd consider giving him the vice captaincy over Whelan. You've mentioned Imbula twice.

Could be owned by man city's owners... Seriously though we have to look at the here and now. Yes we used to be lower league and shit, but it has no relevance to what we do now. [/quot It had no relevance in the early seventies when we threatened to win the league a few years later it did, enjoy what you have and be grateful And we could be even better... Being mid table in the championship would be better than mid table League One, do I just accept that?

Are you aware of the concept of people being born after 1985? The idea that people weren't born when we lost to market drayton town in front of 342 or whoever Fully aware of the concept, just question if the younger generation are aware of where we could be but for the Coates factor Could be owned by man city's owners... Seriously though we have to look at the here and now. Yes we used to be lower league and shit, but it has no relevance to what we do now.

As a supporter who has lived through the 80`s when i was a regular in the 8.000 or so crowds, when people had something to moan about i think a lot of the "new" support who have got on-board after Peter Coates had returned just don`t know how good it is to be Stokie at this present time, calling for manager`s head on a silver platter etc. take a look down the leagues and you will see many club`s with a much bigger fan-base than ours languishing there with little chance of getting back. Are you aware of the concept of people being born after 1985? The idea that people weren't born when we lost to market drayton town in front of 342 or whoever
