He will return Gibby I tell thee! Glory days, mate. I hope so mate! Nothing would make me happier than seeing us take apart the so called "Big Four" on a regular basis like we used to. Fook me, Chelsea were small time in comaprison to us back in the day! Comparison even!

Waddo!! The scary bit is I can remember most of that! Great days, and the like will never be seen again, mainly due to how the money runs the game now. I still think though, that the Tower will fall for a lot of these Clubs who can't pay their way, and then, we really could be in position to reclaim our position at the top of the top table! Maybe Coatesy is a visionary, and this is part of his master plan!

Abdy has ALWAYS fannied about in dangerous areas! The difference was, that in his first year he got away with it nine times out of ten, but last year, he wasn't fit enough to make it work. He is still, imo, the main man at centre half, and it's upto Ryan & Huthy to prove they are better (If Huthy gets the chance of course) It's great to see the big fella getting back to his intimidating best, just ask Parker (I Think) who jibbed on that 50/50 in the second half!

Collins had a good game yesterday! As for our "Midfield Being Wank" Are you including Matty & Pennant in that, because, correct me if I'm wrong, but these guys also play in midfield

Tazi, I think you wildly miss the point in people questioning how we can improve. I have absolutely no fears about us staying in the league as TP simply won't let that happen. It doesn't mean we should stay silent on making salient points though such as the one about Ric starting. I haven't seen many worrying, I've just seen people asking good questions about how we can improve. I think thats pretty fair Jamo! The problem a lot of people on here, is that with us bringing in "Top Marque" signings like Eider, then they are expecting us to be nailed on top 10. The biggest problem we will have, is that if the Players start acting like Billy Big Bollocks, and lose that Passion and aggression that has carried us so far, then we are still not good enough as a Team to rely totally on Out Playing other Teams, so we need to strike a balance. And then If we can harness our Agression and Passion with the better Players who are coming in, then we have a chance of doing well, but this will be a transitional season for us, while we do this, so I guess we all need to be patient.

Agree about Wilson, but not Walters! Wilson looks like he could be a real "Player" given the time, he's got all the attributes of a modern midfielder, and he will get better and better when he's around players like Eider, Ric, Jones Matty etc, who make the kind of runs, that make playing in midfield a lot easier. I was dubious about Walters, but he has not had a poor game yet. He's quick, agressive, got a good touch, and plays with his head up. He'll be a real asset to Stoke, and like Wilson, he will get better and better. We need the mix of Players, Players who can put their foot in, and Players who can use it when we've got it, and now we have a good balance between the two types.

Bit lightweight to be honest guys! We are a physical team who play a physical game, and Tunch isn't upto it, and is just as lightweight as when he came! Great Ability, and could fit in, but I think it will be as a bit part player

I fookin love em slagging us! It's only because they can't handle the fact that Stoke are back!
I was there through the seventies when we were competing, and playing some Football that was the stuff of dreams. But just before all that came, we were a mean horrible side who nobody liked playing against, and guess what, the press slagged us off. Does this sound familiar?
TP is getting us established the right way, Teams don't like us, they fookin hate coming to the Brit, this is down to the way we put them under pressure, and the hostility of the crowd. We WILL play a more expansive game over the next couple of seasons, this is turning into a repeat of the golden era, and imo, the more they hate us, means the more they are afraid! Goaaarrrn Stoke!!!!

I think the back four will stay the same as normal, Huth, Ryan Abdy & DC. Our defensive record last season, taking out the Chelsea & Man Utd games, was as good as any. So whilst I agree that we don't have "Real" Fullbacks, we have an effective defence that must be fookin horrible to play against. Walto should play on the right, he has been arguably our best player since he came. I'd play Wilson & Deano in the center, Ethers on the left, with Ric & Kenwyne upfront. EG & Pennant need to force there way, in, I'm not convinced they are 100% fit yet, and Tunch needs to keep showing the form (Finishing aside) he has done when he comes on. I actually think Tunch will look more impressive when the Team settles down, because at every level of Football, it is always easier to play with better players, and the Turk could yet shine!! Gooooaaarn Stoke!!

I think that Wilson for Whelan, with Walters on the Right in place of Delap, and Ric & Kenwyne up front, Pennant & Eider on Bench

Remember us giving Hart loads of stick at half time in from of the Boothen when he came out early to warm up. We were singing "There's Only One Shay Given" because Man City had either just signed him or were about to. He just turned round and smiled and waved, which I thought was spot on, and showed he'd got a strong personality. Top Keeper, pity he's playing for that Blue Shit!!!

I don't disagree with what you say about LL & Whelan, but Ric is deffo not in that category. He is a maverick, and a one-off, and will always do things his own way. What having the better players now means, is that Ric is under less pressure, and so is Matty. Teams knew if you stopped those two, then set pieces apart, we didn't have much of a threat, but not any more! Ric is still a massive part of what we need to achieve over the next couple of seasons, and even though we have brought in some fantastic Players, there are none of them who could do the "Ric" role. In my opinion of course!

Chill Guys!! You don't seriously think all these Deals have started today? These will have been going on for weeks/months, and Players won't commit, because they will be looking for better offers, it's standard negotiation practice!!! Bastards!!!

From the beeb: Sheikh_Mahand on 606: "Wigan have completed the signing of Tom Cleverley on loan from Man Utd until the end of the season, Di Santo and Jason Roberts will follow him to the DW once Charles N'Zogbia's move to Stoke is confirmed - Stoke are waiting on Gudjohnsen signing the dotted line before sanctioning the transfer as it includes Tuncay going in the opposite direction up the M6."Tuncay out, Gudjohnsen in. Kind of cancel each other out really don't they. I love Tunch, but EG is on a different level, this guy has done it for the Big Boys on a regular basis. And the way he muscled Abdoulaye out of it last year, shows he's got the brawn as well as the brains!! Gooooaaaarn!!

Good point Rob! It's fookin crazy though isn't it? I just hope we get these transfers right this season, the numbers being talked about are the biggest ever for Stoke. We could end up with a really strong squad, if we bring in the Players Dave is talking about, I just how TP can get them working togather quickly, and then we can really be a club that no one wants to come up against (We prob are already!!

Can't disagree with what your sayin mate! Bu I think the figures being speculated on ref Lennies value are way out, then we all expect that sort of a figure. When you see Kenwyne going for £8 mill, is Lennie really going to be worth almost half that? I trust TP to get it right, but I think we are all impatient for things to drop into place, hopefully this time next week, we are all fookin buzzin!

I agree Rob! The thing is, he seems to have lost that instant touch and then be able to wip a cross in. When he's lost that, he's fooked, because though I love him to bits, but he has little or no pace, and rarely beats his man.
I think he shoulod leave with all our best wishes, before we start slating him, and then we forget all the good things he's done for us?

I think Kitson is done for mate! No one wants someone who reacts the way he does when things don't go well. There are more players available than there are Squad positions, so the Clubs can pick and choose, and Kitson won't be near the top of anyone's list.
WE bought hm on the back of one good season in the Championship, and one good one in the Prem, we tried, it didn't work out, so we have to move on, he isn't going to make it! Sad in a way, because he's looked ok in a couple of games, but he is not the answer.

Lenny has run his course! We have to move on, we are all sad to see part of our recent success move on, but you have to be Hard Nosed, it's the only way we progress. I remember all the outcry on here when we signed Lenny, "Slow" "Waste of Money" etc etc, a bit like we posted when Walters signed?

I sit in Block 22 Row 32, and everyone is sound near me. Lots of noise, criticism when it's deserved, and they all REALLY want us to do well. It's a pleasure sitting there, because there is nothing worse than being lumbered next to some Knobhead who is pulling the Lads apart everygame all season!!

No-one should be blamed for Bale's second. It was a great strike, and all credit should be given to the chimp-faced tosser. As usual, it's any excuse to jump on Huth or Collins. Should we also have a go at Ric for a couple of poor shots and messing-up a simple pull-back to Walters at 1-1? Or Faye for putting Lennon clear early in the second half (which would have cost us dear if he hadn't tripped himself up)? Or Ryan for missing the simplest of opportunities? Poor finishing, good goalkeeping, shite refereeing and downright bad luck are what cost us yesterday. Right in every respect!
