Agree that Griff is better than both of them at the moment, Wilko will probably play RB, and Dicko sit out for a while, but they have, and will continue to play a big part this season, and all the time learning from Griff (As long as it's the Griff pre Christmas 2006!)
Both Wilko & Dicko will play a big part in our hopefully bright future, and Griff is the ideal senior pro, I just hope that Andy & Carl, plus the club, look longer term, and are patient.

Great Idea.
Come on Tony, don't miss the chance of some seriously good PR, and also make a statement saying that these lowlife scumbags will be tracked down, prosecuted & banned for life.

Boother If you could guarantee winning the final, then up via the play-off's is the way!! The day out at Cardiff was the best Football day ouy I've ever had. Don't know whether the blood pressure would hold up though

I hope so Sal ;D
I'm really enjoying being a Stokie nowadays, and actually go to most games sober!
We could really do it this year, automatic is there for the taking, but i'd settle for a day out at Wembley and Liam winning it in the 88th with a peno!!

Do you think we are just four years behind Reading in terms of development because of the political bollocks that has gone on?
Coates was never going to invest in the early days like he appears to be doing now, he has seen off the Icelanders, and stepped in. Sign of a good business man, but it has pissed off most of us, because of the shenanigans that have hampered the club throughout this period.
You are spot on about TP bringing in players from the lower leagues, it does appear to be a problem, but I can understand his logic when bringing in tried & proven players. Maybe Demar & De Laet are the start of "Unproven" players coming in, You could argue that Shawcross was/is in this bracket?
It's still Fookin good to actually count the days until the next match though, I've not done that since I was a kid in the 70's ;D

Quite Right RAF ;D (Nail On Head ;D)
Felt like it mattered though!
Getting back to the Reading comparrison, I think this is realistic, and I've been talking to a couple of Stokies I work with and saying this for a while (Probably to Convince Myself that No Players Coming In Was Building For The Long Term ;D)
Now players are arriving, and I think they are improving us once they have settled in, andwe seem to have a real momentum building.

Sal I think we are bringing more & more flair players in, and there will be more to come We are building up at a similar pace to Reading, and I am convinced this is the way, we are not over commiting with payments, and even though we all get frustrated by a pecieved lack of progress, we are a hundred times better club than the one Ade saved with that header (Against Reading!) Goaaaarn Stoke ;D

I don't thinks it's just a question of the Board going for it. It's now time that everybody connected with the club, the Board, Manager, Players, and all the other people who can influence things at the club, should really go for the big push to get us promotion. This isn't just about more signings and more money. it's also about improving systems, procedures and peoples perception of the club, this WILL help to attract better players to the club.
It also applies to us the Fans, we should get right behind the Team (The Support Has Been Magnificient Recently!!) We can make the Brit a place to be feared! We can encourage the "Floaters" to attend, we all know some people who follow from afar, so lets persuade them to get down the Brit more often.
Remember how many went to Cardiff, if we could attract 10% of the extra fans who attended that day, we would put 2 to 3000 extra on the gate. I realise Football isn't a cheap hobby to follow, but Stokes prices are as cheap as they come.
We are on the march, and a Club who is definately on the up, you can sense it, but let's all play our part in this. I've followed us for 35 years, and I've not been this excited about our chances for many years.
Goaaarnn Stoke ;D

A point would be a good result, but the good thing for me is that we seem to be expecting a point, but also knowing we can win it!
The optimism levels are really high, and this makes posting and reading on this Board much more fun-Long May It Continue!!

Sheik You have got it spot on I feel like we've won it, equalising so late, and celebrated accordingley ;D Agree about Mama and the midfield, but I'd play Cresser up front with a good quality, pacy wide left player in, and a central midfielder to partner Salif. Super John is getting better and better, and maybe he would be the man with Salif, look how good he made Daryl look last season. I'd also try Delap at RB, no reflection on Wilko, but RB is supposedly his best position, and the long throw is a real weapon?

How can they grumble?? ???
Was bouncing around the living room and chasing the kids when the second pen went in! ;D
There is a real optimism about the club at the moment, and these moaning T****S should get down the Brit and support us.
I'm going to get my ID card and start going to away games, I can't wait for the next game at the moment.
I had a Season ticket for years in the 70's & 80's. but have only been back for the last two years, and even though a return to the Hudson Greenhoff days are some way away (For A while!) I am really proud of our club at the moment!
Opinions are what makes Football the peoples game, but these Moaners should look how far we have come over the last five years

Beagrie Looked really Fookin gutted when Liam scored the second penalty!
What is it with this guy? He's really winding me up, he just goes on about all the negatives, and would have loved to be reporting on a Stoke defeat. Fuckwit!!

I agree with Nath, Demar would have been mangled yesterday. We are a Fookin big physical team, but Watford got stuck into us, and at times they managed to muscle us out of it, which not many, if any other teams have managed this season. I think his time will come, but it should be gradual.
We are a big, physical, intimidating team, which whether we like it or not, is the blueprint to get out of this league, and Demar will probably only play a small part in this, but I for one like to see teams being scared of us, so lets hope the extra of quality (Pugh, Cort & Salif Already) keeps coming in, and then we could have the right balance!

You say Owen or Shearer would struggle to score in this side? How many teams have scored more than us this season? I think we have probably all lost sight of this, admittedly a lot from set pieces, but hey, what the hell, they all count!
