I always thought what a great asset Cresswell was,... especially in thick fog.
He'd run around with such velocity that sometimes he could actually clear fog pockets by using the air turbulance from his exertions... I used to to know a bloke with large 'wing nut ' ears who could do the same..

I cant see him dropping Fuller and neither should he. I reckon he will play the eidur isnt fit card initially.
Having said that I hope KJ isnt crocked and eidur is the insurance ???

I'm hoping Eidur is playing centre mid.
Tommy/Bego
Whitehead/Wilko Shawcross Faye/Huth Collins
Pennant Wilson Eidur Ringtone
Ric KJ
Would love to see that line up.

Eidur hasn't scored for Monaco this season....Don't know why he hasn't been played that much..? On wiki it said 10 games ..no goals He's been playing midfield for the last three years. I think Villa it will be KJ and Ric, but I actually do think he'll drop Ric after that for Eidur. I don't know why everyone thinks he won't - TP has shown plenty of times in the past his willingness to bring Ric off the bench, and that was with much less quality starting in front of him.

It should be the Caribbean dream team duo, with Eidur playing the more attacking central midfield role with Wilson holding, but Tone's inherent caution will see Ricardo dropped to make way for Eidur as the deep lying front player within a game or two, with Deano partnering Wilson.
I'd play:
Begovic (make him no.1 now)
Whitehead Huth Shawcross Higginbotham
Pennant Wilson Gudjohnsen Etherington
Jones Fuller

Love to see that one play, if Eidur can get fit and Wilson is as good as they say then that is a solid defence, scarily good midfield and superb front two.... Cant say i`ve said that in all 3 departments for a long time.

Just look at the job Michael Essien does for Chelsea. Sure he can play a bit but he is as strong as an ox, could run through a brick wall, he's an unbelievable ball winner and he can do it all for the 96 minutes it takes these days. That midfield certainly has flair but it has very little steel.

I'd be surprised if we didn't start against Villa with Jones and Walters, the seemingly forgotten man who has had two very good games for us so far.

I don't know who Tone will choose, but what a luxury to pick from KJ, Ric, Eidur, Walters and Tunny! Who would have believed that 4 years ago! ;D ;D ;D

It is finally a great conundrum to have
On their day any combi of Ric, Tunny, KJ, EG, and Walters work for me.
Much prefer to see Walters on the right though. It is a tad harsh but I reckon we will eventually see Walters as super sub style - who can cover JP on the right, anyone up front, or even centre mid
I doubt we will see EG in midfield, which is a shame as I think he can do a Scholes type role there and I just hope Wilson lives up to his billing. If he does, then that is where the steel is, protecting the back four and linking the play, allowing EG to be the Scholes type player for us linking the front to the mid (which would be novel)
Whatever - we will finally have a bench that can changes things with at least one winger to come on when one of the others have run their race, two forwards that can change a game, and at least one midfielder to tighten the game up (or Delap with his throws to go for a win)
I doubt we will see Woody at right back, but I think (ok based on one game) he could do a great job there releasing Huth for his best role
Mind you Faye for me is looking much much better so we have good competition for the centre backs

A nice headache to have for TP + a good subs bench no matter who plays from the start.
IMO - Jones + ANother

I've convinced myself that against Villa it will be KJ & Walters with Gudjohnsen & Ric on the bench but I would play KJ and Ric untill Gudjohnsen is fit

Tommy/Bego Whitehead/Wilko Shawcross Faye/Huth Collins Pennant Wilson Eidur Ringtone Ric KJ Would love to see that line up. so you buy a world class striker and play him in midfield????? mind you i can see where your coming from playing two goalkeepers is surely an inspired move ;D ;D

I believe Ric is a better player than Eidur right now. If Tony can get Eidur back to shape it might be another story, but I think this will take time. I see Eidur more as an impact sub for the last 20-25 minutes as it stands now. Not a bad choice to have though! ;D

I'm sure these new players will lead to new levels of incessant moaning fascinating debate about Pulis' team selections.
