Bossed it, won it, nailed it (and kept them closed out). Just give us half a dozen extra games to the season and just maybe... Good management Mick, really getting our sense of direction back. 9 from me

Oh no this is awful news, Lord Eff was one of the greats and everything I've heard says Martin was a top bloke. So sorry, love and condolences to those left behind

Not beautiful, not exciting, if you were in a bad mood you'd say two nonentities playing the season out but we did what was needed and genuinely bossed enough of the game. And won it. So I'm going wild and saying

(sorry Albs, thought you've maybe fallen asleep... xx)
Falling asleep would have been good tbh. We're just so bloody mediocre and nothing in Mick's armoury seems capable of touching it. You pay a manager to outthink an opposition and it's a long long time since that's happened. Or shock them with energy and commitment would do. Just bloody something please?

There was a bit of real authority out there, ok it was Wycombe but when we were back in our deep trough we'd have 0-0'd it or something daft (and under Nath we'd have lost). That was decent management today, good game management, got the subs ok for me 8 Albert are you trying to say you want my job? xx

one more 7 - genuinely unlucky tonight and as has been said, our bench just isn't up to it atm, Mick's juggling constantly - ok it's always possible to have a pop but a win wouldn't have flattered us

Albert's 'didn't have the answers' says it for me too, we set up well, we held a better side back for 45 but then when they powered up, we powered down. I wish this wasn't the truth but we're still a season away from living with or beating the Brentfords.

Ryan is a true legend for me, gave it everything and if his body hadn't given out once too often, he still would be doing. And a lovely bloke, a proper gent. Over the years he made some average CBs playing alongside him look better than they were. I still feel for him about that England debut, not only was he unlucky but if he'd had a manager who got what he was about, like Tone and Sparky who knew he's not an instant confidence player, it could have been a v different story.
My best Ryan memory tho goes way back, towards the end of the promotion season, galloping up the pitch as an emergency striker - whatever we needed, he was up for it and that is Ryan Shawcross all over.

How was the system so wrong for so long and now we've clicked back into place? One reason is we've had two weak oppositions back to back and we've needed that bit of extra space to get ourselves in the groove - lovely performance, you can feel the confidence flowing back. Poor poor mad Nath....

Manager gets arse into gear shock - ok it was hardly a convincing win but we did what was needed, we kept it tight with 4 changes which isn't something you can take for granted and whatever Mick said at HT made a difference. Decent day at the office and hope that breaks the fear of winning. Back to 7 from me again

0 Again is there a running average for managers ratings on here? This season with Oniell has to be one of the lowest from any of Rowett, Jones, Lambert etc. I'm guessing Hughes was much higher up with regards to fans appreciation and performance, I'm talking this season. It's been diabolical Any stattos fancy it (I don't)? Good idea tho. The thing with Mick atm is he led us on to what felt like the start of real progress, there seemed to be a solidity I don't remember feeling since the Good Tone years. I've been an O'Neill fan and he can still win me back but he has to get his arse into gear quick. Sparky was a flake's flake half the time but in every sense we were in a different league, we could live with the best, we made some amazing signings (till the rubbish ones followed) and he could think his way through a football match in a way not seen since, so I'm told, Waddo at his best.

They're better than us, they beat us with ease, we offered almost nothing. Sick of this now. Ok we were at their and Norwich really are a quality side but what happened to the Mick who could get a weaker squad than this scoring 5? I've almost forgotten he existed. Then, he was generating real can-do and self-belief - and it worked. Now he's instilling nah, not quite good enough, don't risk dreaming lads - and that's working too.
4 from me and I'm rapidly running out of generosity

suspect quite a few will disagree with this but for me that was a good Mick performance today: stronger, tighter, took the game to them better (admittedly without enough quality to get the penetration we needed). Reading are better than us and they played well. Obviously I'm not excited at a home 0-0 but I really felt like I was seeing good things for the future and an attempt to get out of our long (long, long) rut.
8 from me if only to break my (long, long) rut of 7s

We came back to equalise, we absorbed a lot of pressure most of that with 10 men and we're on the way home with a point... are the pluses and on a cold windy day in January they're big ones, pre-Mick we could have lost 4 or 5 today. That's quality management. BUT, I don't think I saw one single sign of the extra star quality it takes to get on a promotion run... not saying it won't come but MoN really needs to get his arse into gear or we'll just be too far adrift.

I was using tonight as a bit of a milestone - v Watford at theirs we were well outclassed, tonight I felt like we weren't, but never truly on top of them either. All the same we've made real progress. If Watford are the marker for an auto spot or top of the playoffs mini league, we've got a lot of growing to do to be worth a playoff place - whereas back then we looked barely mid-table.. Mick needs to find our killer instinct again, we have to be converting dominance. And we can't leave a single striker unsupported in home games.
One more 7 from me then

Where is she - again? Gouranga. She's hopeless, sorry xx I'm going wild and giving Mick an 8 for tonight - agree about shortcomings but it was vital we kept on coming and we did, if we're going to get in the playoffs and stay there it's that extra drive that's going to do it

I really loved a lot we did today, with the obvious exception of not closing them right down for the equaliser - but Mick got us braver and bolder than for a while and if we'd hung on for 3 points we'd have been worth it. Bearing in mind the sending off too:

One positive: we committed more fouls than them. Beyond that I'm struggling. Even that depleted Leics side are a joy to watch but honestly we might as well have been making the tea half the time.

another 6, Mick did a lot right with the options available, the trouble is he's got us complacent about being this negative. there was an extra 10% in most of the lads out there tonight and I don't think he even tried to press the buttons to risk winning. if we don't have a head change soon we're going to tumble back down to mid-table

It's been coming for a while. Ok weird conditions tonight but there were no excuses for that: we should easily, easily have bossed that game, instead we were so negative we were the ones who got bossed. We're going to regret these 2 points thrown away at the end of the season.

You took your time today Bursik 8 Smith 6 Souttar 8 Collins 6 Chester 6 Thompson 5 Cousins 7 Powell 6 Brown 7 Fletcher 6 McClean 4 Allen 6 Gouranga. I'd agree in the main, all wrong to confuse a shite game with keeper or defenders playing badly. Bursik continues to play his way into it beautifully and Souttar's a star in the making imo, we're lucky to have both of them

Grim. As nature intended. Genuinely, I love that we're now capable of grinding them out like this. It's a vital part of our DNA we've found again and no probs that it's a big part of Mick's DNA too. I just hope that by the business end of the season we're not regretting the chances we had to go and grab a few games like this that could have been there for the taking if we'd dared. But then MoN's a football manager who's hopefully taking us to the Prem next season and I'm not...
Better dust that 7 off again then eh
Hope you and yours have all had the best Christmas you could considering xxx

7 here too, for a lot of that game we lived with a proper European football team - if we'd had the firepower to take the game to them, different story maybe. IF we go up next season, with a few decent signings we won't be out of our depth. Mick certainly won't once he's adjusted to the pace.

Another clean sheet, move up a place, improve the GD slightly, hold out for 80+ minutes against a side that knows where the goal is... which all sounds great. But it doesn't disguise the fact we were fairly crap for most of the game, took little initiative in a home match... but we got the points, once again it was clearly what Mick set out to do... so better move my repeating 7 up one I suppose...

It's horrible, it's big and strong, it's an away point. Mick set out to do a thing and did it. Given the resources at his disposal right now, great - and the disciplines we're building up are going to stand us in good stead as we get players back and can go more expansive. Job done.
Same 7 as last time (and next time probably) from me
