suspect quite a few will disagree with this but for me that was a good Mick performance today: stronger, tighter, took the game to them better (admittedly without enough quality to get the penetration we needed). Reading are better than us and they played well. Obviously I'm not excited at a home 0-0 but I really felt like I was seeing good things for the future and an attempt to get out of our long (long, long) rut.
8 from me if only to break my (long, long) rut of 7s

7.
Better than recent games, positive for an hour or so.
Let them back into it with poor game management but they still didn’t really threaten us.

5, the team improved from the last outing but they still don't look like winning a game, he needs to change it or this will continue to the end of the season.
The transition argument is wafer thin when the team starts with a midfield consisting of McClean, Clucas, Allen and Mikel.

7, far from perfect but you can only play the hand you have got, we were the better side against the 4th placed team. We all know we are not going up this season and despite the current run it is a massive improvement on last season and I am confident the overall direction is upwards.

I don’t get the no attacking intent thing. We faded second half but we were on the front foot for most of the first and should have put the game to bed? We got happier and happier to take the draw as things wore on and let them back into it, which was frustrating, but you’d thing we camped out in our own box for 94 minutes the way folk are going on.

The starting line-up was proved to be the correct one.
He was a bit late making the subs, but was limited by the crap he had on the bench. Cousins for Allen- correct sub; Clarke was tiring but I'd have kept him on and taken McClean off. Don't think it really made any difference though.
We played quite well, attacked, but didn't score. That's not the manager's fault.

There are no agendas TD just plain honest truths Week in week out we create nothing and never test the opposition goalkeeper and it’s been like that since mid November ....it’s like watching West Brom of old and oh how we laughed our bollocks off at them If it’s front foot with with goal attempts that’s great but if it’s front foot with zero efforts at goal then I’m bored shitless Do I want him sacked, fuck no that would be madness but let’s be able to discuss what we are witnessing without that agenda bollocks as nobody has one

A good move with a goal ruled out through a marginal offside. McClean’s chance that he should’ve buried. Cousins’ chance at the end.

How can some say we didn't try to win the game. Down the right in particular we got in behind them 3 or 4 times with some good play. We just lack that final killer moment. I thought today on the whole we were so much better all over the pitch..They are a decent side and we more than matched them.

Three clear cut chances at home to the team in fourth is better than it has been lately, that’s all I’m saying. We’ve played way way worse than that in recent weeks.

Third decent home performance on the trot against another decent team. Unlike the other 2 games, we managed to get something out of it. Another point bringing us ever closer to the magical 50.
Lots to sort out at this club and we have a manager that seems to be starting to put some foundations down.

As it happens, we have a bloke who's saved us from relegation one season, has got us sitting in the top half of the table the next, and yet we've got idiots slagging him off left, right and centre and telling us there's no excuse for this poor run of form. I'm not going to pretend that what we're seeing now is thrilling- it isn't- but MON still has a mess to sort out that's going to take years to put right, and there'll be periods like this where we just have to hang on in there and not go into freefall. There simply isn't the depth of squad there to cope with injuries, and there's not enough financial wriggle room to buy our way out of problems. Until we're in a position where MON doesn't have to hunt for free transfers and cheap gambles, keeping us on an even keel (even if it's shit to watch) is fine by me.
