You should know you write a lot of it on here! Yeah I normally evidence most of it too. What did he do better than Pieters? Head, tackle, clear the ball, maybe you form your opinion of a players individual performance depending on the outcome of the game.

So you don't think he needs to demonstrate some improvement in performance and approach to retain his job? was that it? Yes but today was about the results. Improved results will give us a platform to put in improved, less nervy, performances. They will also give us a chance to attract better players in the window because 2 more wins from the next 3 games will make things a bit more appealing to everyone. Can we get those wins? Who knows. For me he'd have to produce something better to even get the window. Yes we are in a position that makes players edgy but West Brom were even lower and in worse form yet they still managed to dominate every single statistic bar the scoreline in both halves. The second was far worse than the first but even in the first they dominated possession, action areas, corners, pass completion, shots both on and off target. He's assembled a team that specialises in playing ugly football really badly.

Sorry but if that's his idea of an acceptable home performance never mind a good one I'm out. Ditto my last game this season if he remains in charge, enough is enough of this brain numbing shite. I'll keep going whilst my ST lasts as long as something better to do doesn't present itself but the whole wank approach to the game needs to change to convince me to go again. No ambition, twat it long and soak it up in a sort of keystones cops fashion. There's far more wrong than individual players and performances the very ethos of what we are trying to do is utterly wank.

He's got to revert to 4231. We're a poor enough team as it is and he's wasting his best player these last few games.

We scored 3 and only conceded 1. That is all that matters today. So you don't think he needs to demonstrate some improvement in performance and approach to retain his job? was that it?

Good decision to play him today in my opinion He was good at holding the ball up - just needed a team mate nearer to him on occasions and a massive plus in defence West Brom were uncomfortable with him on the field Agree off the bench is a very good option for most games Certainly needs to start against Coventry who have little height in their defence I was surprised he started. Dunno why but I expected Saido & Diouf to start up front in a 442. I didn't expect us to lump it against WBA unless we had to. Its what we do.

Yeah absolutely brilliant if we have forever abandoned any ideas or aspirations of playing football. We could hoof it aimlessly at him and he'd probably make more of it than Crouch manages to. We had to win and we did. We had some passages of nice constructive football but we are playing under huge pressure with certain players struggling massively. We had a 17 year old at right back, a shit centre half at left back, a clearly unfit zouma at centre half and 2 old men ahead of them. Lets not forget lionheart shaqiri as well. It was never goung to be a spectacle was it? Horrific football tbh, yes we had some nice moves but very much isolated incidents in an approach to football that even Pulis would struggle to outdo for lack of ambition. Really struggling with our team at the moment how bad would a team have to be for us to dominate a game.

It was nervy when they got the goal but we toughed it out and came through it, relatively comfortably. Granted there were a few hairy moments but i only recall butland making 2 real saves of note Is there anyway we could get rondon? Always causes problems and is perfect for what we need. Yeah absolutely brilliant if we have forever abandoned any ideas or aspirations of playing football. We could hoof it aimlessly at him and he'd probably make more of it than Crouch manages to.

I found that performance a lot more depressing than some of our defeats. We were truly dreadful and how the manager can have the nerve to come out with the garbage he did after the game I don’t know. I genuinely fear for the rest of this season. www.skysports.com/football/news/11701/11183170/mark-hughes-delighted-with-stokes-display-in-3-1-win-over-west-brom"I thought we were excellent from start to finish. We changed things around a bit, obviously without Erik Pieters we had no real obvious choice to play left back but Kevin Wimmer came in and did really well. "Our general play was excellent, we really took the game to West Brom and they found it difficult to keep us at arm's length for long periods" Well, that's certainly an...er...interesting take on the game. Hopefully just for public consumption. On another fucking planet.

Fantastic what a performance he was the weakest link in a defence that contained an 18 year old rookie. Same old same old, shit in the air, slow as a donkey, weak as piss apart from that he's nearly as accomplished as Ryan Shotton.

That second half was fucking horrendous, any other side would have had a hat full against us. We just seem too scared to play. Quality ball by Crouch though for the first goal. It was a shot.

Absolutely dire performance. "Desperation football" as I heard Pejic say on the radio. Just shows where the confidence is. As low as it's possible to be, and we were a shapeless mess. We can only hope that it's some kind of monkey off the back and it somehow leads to improved displays over Christmas, but it's hard to see how based on today. A very limited West Brom, who hadn't won since August, were allowed to attack us non-stop. 17 shots to 9 11 corners to 1 57% possession. Well, we got through it somehow, but they'll feel very aggrieved to have lost. I said at half time its extremely worrying when you're struggling to get out of your own half against these, little did I know just how much worse it could get. Its not just the level of performance what we're setting out to do is pretty wank and uninspiring, will we ever dominate a game again? I make no bones about it that's what I want to see but as far as I can see we don't even aspire to do so.

The run continues with all our wins coming with less possession than the opposition in all 5🤔 Perhaps the fact that we concede so much, not only possession but territory is a major reason that we have only won 5 games all season not a blueprint for future success. When you can't dominate the game with a 2-0 lead against a team that hasn't won for 17 games and you can't look after the ball, can't play the game in their half I guess you're never going to. Hughes out!

It'll be TP who comes back its inevitable in my opinion Correct. But that is only the start. Won’t this make the positions of Scholes and Cartwright untenable. Won’t TP expect to be in control of all aspects of the football club. He hasn't been in control of all aspects of our club in his previous tenures nor has he been in control of all aspects of any other club he's ever managed. Football managers don't dictate to chief executives at any club.

He needs his team to do the talking on the pitch, He needs to grow a pair and send the team out tomorrow with only one thing on their mind winning. If I see a team that's too scared of losing to win again he can fuck right off regardless of the result if that makes any sense at all (you can win when you're too scared of losing to play Pulis teams have done it for years).

Acccurately and succinctly put OS. It apalls me the way Peter Coates has gone from being " Sir Peter " or " Uncle Peter " and revered so much just a couple of months ago, to someone whilst still being respected amongst his piers as chairman of an established premier league club, is open game for abuse by a minority of so called supporters of this fine football club. We really would become a laughing stock if comments on The Oatcake were taken too seriousley. I genuinely thought that Stoke Supporters were better than some of the stuff most recently posted, these are testing times but that doesn't mean that we have to implode and have a pop at anything that moves. What a load of old shit. This is football you can't dine out on past deeds forever Sir Peter, Uncle Peter was a benefactor if he doesn't want to put money into the club he is just Coates Mk1 a liability who lives in a world gone by. Ashley at Newcastle has the best idea if you don't want to put money in sell up and get out. The Coates' could sell up and see a healthy profit on their investment if they sell a Premier League club. Why drag it down and their investment with it because they no are no longer willing to invest the necessary money to keep the club competitive at this level.

If the split in the boardroom between Coates, who wants Pulis back and Scholes who thinks we will lose too many s.t holders if he returns is true..who would renew and who wouldnt!!?? I wouldnt...we didnt sack him because he was brilliant!! Didn't renew in the hope of getting him sacked and wouldn't renew if he comes back. I'm done with his excuse for football nothing will change that stance.

At the moment the reality is that we have to score at least two or in reality three goals in a game to pick up one or three points! We are clearly finding it extremely difficult to create goal chances. So what cavalry can we call on to get us out of this nightmare:- Affelay, Adam, Imbula, Ireland, Johnson, Fletcher, Wimmer, Crouch, Diouff, Sobhi, Muniesa and Bojan. Surely these players are just not up for or good enough for the battle ahead. Next to Swansea we are the worst team in the league! Our hope lies with Butland, Shawcross, Zouma, Indi, Pieters, Allen, Berahino, Jesé and Shaqiri. Is there anyone out there can say they really believe these players are going to turn us round? Ok I've read what you're saying. Why are we deluding ourselves most of us agree we're pretty wank and whoever the manager is has a big job on their hands. Next to Swansea we're the worst team in the league shouldn't be too surprising next to Swansea we're the most reluctant to spend money.

If Stoke came calling he would take the job at the drop of a hat. He'd fucking love it. Our board wouldn't take a chance on a novice Why would he all that shit for a pay cut. He's on nearly twice as much as Hughes basic pay for a part-time job.

What the f**k is the creepy obsession with the bloke on this board? He's nowhere near good enough to manage at stoke, and failed massively in the one job he took. He would do well get a job down the vale. All about opinions mate Its not even an opinion is it really? I'm sure if Gary Neville wanted another crack at management he wouldn't be short of offers.

Neither Adam, Fletcher or Affelay are capable of doing the job they are required to do in the formation Hughes has favoured so far this season. The only way any of them should be making the 1st team is in a midfield 3 and I can't believe that Hughes has persisted with Allen and Fletcher as a two for so long. We desperately need to sign a high quality midfielder in the January window. Can you imagine the wages those three are on combined and they aren't even fit for the purpose of Premier League football.

Exactly didn't know they gave them out for being an embarrassment. Maybe he's carried them over from a previous club? Pretty sure he never even played for Spurs this season. Perhaps the ref's give them out in the tunnel afterwards for cowardice in the face of battle or something.
