He picked a very bad job to start with, in an unfamiliar league, with a language he doesn’t speak. However, I think he has the potential to manage in the English league, he should start in League One or Two though and prove himself.
I wonder if he actually wants it enough though, he is set for life already and is doing a decent job as a pundit, does he really need the pressure that comes along with managing a football club? I’m not convinced.

I’m not convinced. I think he only ever got that Valencia job because someone who worked there also was a mate who was part of the Salford City project. Had it have been anyone else at the club he wouldn't have got that job. I think he'll do an English job eventually, not starting at Prem level though, but certainly League 1/2. He's a good pundit and knows his stuff, but I think he'll fancy the challenge a little later on somewhere down the line.

I think he was spoiled at United with only knowing players that could , Run, Pass , Shoot and tackle to have to build a team with players who's skills do not meet that base is not so easy.
Stoke with Messi, Ronaldo and a few more would soon get out of relegation worries but finding players who can steer us safe with lesser abilities is a job for someone with lower league and foreign experience.
In short he has the theory but needs the practical, might make a good manager one day.
edit IN MY OPPINION.

I’ve said for along while he’ll make a good manager one day but our job at the moment is it for him?Probably not but I’d be tempted to give him a go with an experienced number two

He's nowhere near good enough to manage at stoke, and failed massively in the one job he took. He would do well get a job down the vale.

I have a sneaky feeling that this is the type of manager that would be Coates next preferred choice, Perhaps a Giggs/Neville partnership. They tick all the boxes for Coates, British, young, eager to show what they can do, local, well known throughout the football world, schooled by Fergie and cheap. Gouranga.

I don't get the Neville love in either.
Being a better pundit than most doesn't make a football manager.

If Stoke came calling he would take the job at the drop of a hat.
He'd fucking love it.
Our board wouldn't take a chance on a novice
