I wonder which fringe players will go. Sonko? Griffin? Soares? Tonge? Dicko? anyone else.......... Maybe all of them. Always hoped that Soares would have produced something for us but...

We must keep hold of Shawcross, surely. How long has he got left on the recently signed contract...for what it's worth?
Agree with the others plus Lawrence and Tuncay. I hope I am wrong about Tuncay, though. Fuller out, also???

Just to be pedantic, the Saturday before Easter Sunday is not Easter Saturday, it's called Holy Saturday. Easter Saturday is the Saturday After Easter Sunday. FFS, he's been on here two minutes and he's laying down the law!!!

Born in Mansfield, Mum, Dad, Grandparents both sides and all relations are/were(R.I.P.) Stokies. Brought up on after match inquest, F.A. Cup runs and top flight football, seventies style. Spent most of my time watching failure after failure throughout the eighties and nineties.
Have lived on the Fylde coast for many, many years (save 3/4 years 'studying' at Staffordshire Uni, Beaconsfield Campus - does anyone know if Brooke and Binyon Courts got demolished as I believe they were condemned when we were stuck in them in 1991/92???) but my heart and soul has and always will be with Stoke City. Match days are a nightmare spent trying to take my mind off the match itself whilst carrying out family chores/days out/arguments (wouldn't swap any of that for the world, though, not even Stoke)!!!
Occasionally, I get to the odd game but let any of you think I don't go through the pain and pleasure of being a Stokie because I do. Every match, week in, week out. Ask the wife!!!

Should have walked for the penalty IMO. Someone like abdy/shawcross/huth/higgy/wilko etc would have been sent for an early bath i tell ya now.double standards. Good point, well made.

Hate the Arse but I have to say Campbell won the ball fairly, IMHO. Still a dickhead, though.

Football First commentators thought it was a good game. I couldn't see much wrong with it except for a lack of goals. He just likes to have a cheap dig. TWAT!!!

Try him. He and his co-host post on here under stokepod. Thanks, PotterLog. Will try him.

Overall I'd say the media have been decent with us since we got promoted. Maybe but I'd like to hear the reaction and analysis to Stoke showing that we ain't going to be push overs in those immediate moments after we have scored. Yes, I know we get the reactions from those commentating on Sky but I just wanted a different angle.

I am sure someone must do!!! As regards 5 Live and Radio Stoke, I'd prefer to hear the reaction from a 'neutral' rather than a Nige, etc just for the fact that we will have probably pissed them off in some way or another and gone against their in built stereotypical script.

Has anyone got recordings of 5 live commentary of Stoke's games since we returned to the top flight??? If so, I'd like a 'copy' (is that the right word???) of any such commentary, especially our wins/comebacks/respectful draws. Highlights would be better but I'd like also to hear general comments, etc of the likes of Alan Green, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

Love ELO!!! Brings back sooo many memories!!! Alan A'Court, RIP. Good man. It was the lowest point we'd got to at that time and Alan Durban came in not long after. My brother tells me that scarves were burnt on The Boothen and season tickets were discarded after that match. And it was on 'Newsround' the following night!!! Fuckers!!! I try to erase the memory, tbh. As I walked back towards Stoke Station people were discarding their scarves every few yards. I had a hellluva job picking them up cos even as a mere teenager I knew they would want them back in a couple of weeks Ah, was the burning of scarves The Shit fans on the away end in 1974 ???

Someone met him in a motorway caff or something earlier, eating a pastie. So probably not. Wasn't that Carl Beeston who liked a pastie??? Remember walking past him near The Vic circa 1991 and he was stuffing some kind of pastie down his throat!!! Not sure whether he was playing that game or was he injured??? Probably injured!!!

we're already safe, so lets have both Sorry, don't agree. Until the Pompey situation is sorted, I think we need to be cautious. As long as HMRC don't get their way and Pompey actually go into administration, then everything is fine. That's coming from a pessimist, too!!! Otherwise, beware the unexpected!!! We would be dragged back into the shit by Pompey's possible liquidation. Maybe someone out there can put me in my place and reassure me??? Can Pompey still be liquidated???

If you could promise we'd get back into the Prem within, say, 3 years then maybe I'd go for the FACup/3 year stay in the Championship/defo back into the Prem scenario. Otherwise, no. This position is far too important to throw away for the sake of an FA Cup. That is actually sad and I do remember watching the 1975 FA Cup Final day from early in the morning and being mesmorised by it all. I guess it also shows how much money drives the whole sport, not that I object to that as long as Stoke are part of it. Selfish, I know.
We can 'push on' and as we are doing pretty well financially, I reckon we'll improve and start ruffling a few feathers in the top ten and further up. In fact, now I've painted that latter picture to myself, I'd prefer to stay in the Prem and keep on improving. I don't think the Club's aim is to keep on just hanging in there. I reckon there is a plan and we must let it take shape. What was it? 3 years of consolidation, then look at giving the 'big boys' a run for their money???

I think HMRC are not happy about the fact that they will be at the end of the line for repayment should Portsmouth go into administration and are challenging whether the present owner has done this process properly/legally in some way or another and are also not happy about the appointment of the administrator, suggesting somewhere that this particular administrator isn't independent enough. It's something like that.
My problem is that if HMRC's objections are upheld in court then Pompey may well be liquidated meaning, of course, that our 6 points will be struck off (as well as everyone else who got points off them). Someone has put the league table up on this board somewhere showing a revised one. I can't honestly remember who gains most but it does make me feel a little uncomfortable knowing that we may only be 4 points off a relegation spot. Yes, I know that other clubs down there will lose out too (West Ham, in particular) but they will all be buoyed by the fact that there are more clubs in the mix than at the moment and I think that we would suffer greatly should this happen.
On the plus side, Pompey's win today may take the financial pressure off them and I hope they make the Final, tbh, so long as they avoid us in the semis!!! We need them to stay in business till the end of the season, regardless.
The 9 points will not be taken off them until the administration has been confirmed by the courts.

I don't even think it was mistimed. They both went for the ball 50/50. As I have said on other posts, it was unfortunate for Ramsey that his leg caught the full brunt of Shawcross' genuine attempt to get the ball.
Agree with everything else, SGT.

Wasn't it poor on both of the players part??? You look at the stills and they are both attacking the ball with their legs raised to kick through the ball and, unfortunately, Ramsey comes off worse.
