What a bloke, the first player to stay attend to ramsey and try to comfort him. Before any Arsenal player.
What a bloke, hats off to him.

Yeah Whelan was the one who noticed straight away and called on the medics as the game was playing on. Bendtner did support the lad too but Whelan stayed with him until he was stretchered off.

Whelan showed utter class in the aftermath. Wenger, Campbell and Fabregas take note.

Credit to Whelan. Campbell and Fabregas were more interested in having a go at Shawcross than helping their teammate.

It was totally unintentional from Ryan and could be (much later) debated as a red card offence. However, Stoke play football and accept all things associated with it.
I'm not surprised at all that the incident affected Stoke as much as it did Arsenal, we aren't the bastards the media would have people believe.

I almost got a vibe that Whelan had a medical background from the way he reacted.
The reaction of Fabregas et al was sickening. The Stoke support cared more about what was happening to their player than they did.

Baltipies I said the same thing to my dad, wondering if he's had first aid training, because he seemed to put him in the recovery position etc and stayed with him until he was on the stretcher.

Good lad Whelan! Brought up at my very own MCFC, good player and showed what a top guy he is. A lot better than Campbell and Fabregas who had a go at the ref and Stoke players.

Well done Glen, a true and worthy ambassador of our club.
Tonight, I am really sad for Aron's misfortune but very, very proud of Glen, Stoke City and Ryan Shawcross.
Hold your head high Ryan..... England beckons!

Couple of comments from News Of The World website...

Notice how many Arsenal players in the pictures actually went to the aid of the poor kid. The only person near him was a Stoke player. Great team spirit. I would be disgusted if my team didn't race in to see my mate was ok. They play beautiful football, but as far as comradery goes, they have nothing.
I hope Ramsey makes a full and speedy recovery

didnt think much of bendtner when he pushed ryan away I think in the heat of the moment you can forgive Bendtner for pushing Ryan away, his mate was in absolute agony in his arms and the guy who'd been sent off for it was standing over him, pretty confusing and upsetting for all of them I'd say. What a guy Whelan is, he deserves a mention for being such a hero, honestly don't underestimate if Ramsey had seen his leg properly, tried moving, passed out with shock, swallowed his tongue or something like that and then things could have been alot worse. Well done Glenn your a credit to the club and yourself.

Yeh the only gesture fabregas made towards ramsey was tapping his leg in celebration when he scored.....yeh nice one cesc i bet that really helped him, i bet his leg doesn't hurt at all now, what a great team mate you are.
