Pompey, Burnley, Hull nailed on?
Are there any we should take in the closed season?
Bullard defo. That little Irish winger. Whatsisface. Maybe.
Maybe Piquionne?
And Fletcher's done well in a struggling side....but not so sure..
After that, I'm struggling.
Maybe that's why they're going down? ;D

Wouldn't touch any of their players especially Stephen Hunt who your on about we need to be attracting a better quality player than those mentioned imo and i include Bullard in that as well.

bullard if we can't get a younger CM in (O'Hara)
i think fletcher will be lower on our targetman list.
Hunt could be a decent utility player being able to play LW and LB but how much.

bullard would be a cert for me if he could stay uninjured, though saying that he`d be worth the risk for me. piquionne defo got quality and o`hara too. i would`nt touch ANY burnley player though, we need to be setting higher standards for ourselves than that. for me, the players we should be getting in are rodallega from wig-wam, zamora from fulham and possibly carroll from newcastle.

I notice no one is mentioning the appalling Dindane anymore. Told you all he was crap. Yes, I know he's only on loan, but do Pompey actually have any players of their own?

Dindane IS crap. Hull have a squad of 900 players but I'd only take Bullard and MAYBE whatsit.

Who has scored more goals this season, Dindane or any of our strikers?

Who has scored more goals this season, Dindane or any of our strikers? Our strikers aren't there to score goals. Their job is to win the throw ins. And I'm only half joking

I know, sad state of affairs! I think we need better than Dindane now though.

Pompey - Belhadj, James (If Sorro goes), Piqiuonne (??) Burnley - Mears, Fletcher, Chris McCann (Fell off the radar because of injury but a tidy footballer who scored a few from midfield in their promotion season) Hull - Altidore?
For what its worth, I reckon we WILL sign Tyrone Mears. I noticed Pulis tapping him on the backside and sharing a joke with him when we played them at Turf Moor a few weeks back.
The last time he did that was Mama at Priestfield all them years ago. ;D

Is Mears really that good? He did well against us but he hasn't looked that good this season imo and is a bit of a defensive liability.
Altidore-what has he done so far? He's on loan too.

wudnt mind eagles if he put on about 3 stone in muscle. he's good but too lightweight. That Mears is good though, Altidore would be an improvement on Sidibe there will be a load of interest for O'hara!!

I think we have the money to pinch a couple of players from better teams.

Mears has had a decent season imo. Bit suspect defensively mind. Altidore seems to be improving. He's quick and fairly mobile, although not hugely prolific.

I'll take Your word about Mears, rob.
I really don't see the fuss about Altidore though and didn't in the summer at the Confederations Cup.

I just think he's got potential given how we play really (Altidore I mean) I think some people have gone overboard about Mears - talk about England etc. and £8m moves to Sunderland and such, but to me he looks a decent Prem standard right back at least.

Belhadj & Fletcher would do me quite nicely. On a none-relegation threatened team note, surely the criminally underused Mr Sidwell at Aston Villa will surely be looking to move on this summer, would love us to be in the hunt for him.

as I hinted earlier -we should be looking at the bigger squads of the top four and getting players from there
Surely, a higher level of quality is assured by this approach rather than, rummaging around amongst failing football clubs ?

I wouldnt mind him to be fair really caused quite a few problems when we went to their place. Eagles is a good shout to for a replacement right winger. Although neither them should be top priority signings. these would be more of a back up plan imo.
