As long as "Can't Control" doesn't come to us I'm happy.

What really confuses me about this whole saga is the lengths ACL seem to have gone to to make it awkward for Cov. Surely the stadium is utterly unviable without CCFC as a tennant? Exactly. What the hell are they going to do with a football stadium with no football club as a tenant?? Surely having CCFC paying them any amount is better than having the stadium lay empty.

John Terry - Teammate WAG shagging, cheating, racist twat Rio Ferdinand - Self important, pompous, drunk driving fucktard Roy Keane - Premeditated Haaland tackle. Utter fucking wanker. Joey Barton - Violent, egotistical tossbag. Carlos Tevez - Chimp faced mercenary
I wasn't aware of Wilshere's antics but if what I've read in this thread is true then add his name too.
If he wasn't one of ours than Pennant would likely get a mention for the plethora of reasons he has provided over the years.

I can't see us being interested in him for that kind of money, unless the deal includes a swap of some sort. No, we prefer to spend that amount on 2 or 3 players instead trying to find a good one that will fit for a bargain £5m, or at least we did. Why not just go for the man that is sure to improve you at a higher price. £12M is nothing these days for a classy player at 21 with his best years still ahead. I agree, he is exactly the kind of player we should be buying. I was just under the impression that the days of us spending 10+ million on a player began and ended with Crouch. We'd have to ship out some CM's if we did get him.

MirrorSouthampton seem to be very strongly linked. At £12m, you can see why teams are hesitating. But Southampton seem to be in spending overdrive. I can't see us being interested in him for that kind of money, unless the deal includes a swap of some sort.

My thoughts exactly. He looked good at RB at the tail end of last season, shocking at RW though. Whose fault was Shotts at right wing though? And continuing to play him there? How would Huthy or Shawcross faired out on the right wing? Totally agree, not a criticism of Shotts. It probably says a lot about the lad that he played well at RB, after some of the grief he got for his RW performances. Another player might have lost confidence and crumbled.

As far as transfer requirements go we are at the disadvantage of having far too many unknowns in the squad to accurately judge what we need.
Is Ness ever going to be fit/good enough to play?
Ditto for Shea?
Will Cuvelier be given a chance?
Will Palacios ever get fit/get his mind right?
Will Edu return/be good enough to play?
Will Kightly regain some form?
I agree totally that we need a LB, even my blind dog can see that. I also think we could do with another/replacing a striker and CB cover. As for any other positions we will have to wait for MH to make his mind up about the players above first.
I also agree with the supposed new direction of signing younger players, even if we haven't seen any evidence of that policy yet.

When he was played at Right Back at the tail end of the season i think he played well for us but there is no way in the world that he's a Right Midfielder. I'm not his biggest fan but was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable he looked in what could be argued is his "proper position". My thoughts exactly. He looked good at RB at the tail end of last season, shocking at RW though.

All this snd its still not been confermed by the club!!!! Could it be that Kinnear has gone cuckoo and is making it all up? For their sake I hope so. The guy is off his rocker.

I would guess Sparkys problem is fairly similar to ours, in that he hasn't seen most them play enough recently to form a good opinion. He'd need to have a good look at them, particularly Palacios and Ness. At least Cuvelier and Edu have been playing elsewhere, so he'll be able to see some footage.

I like him, big, strong, comfortable on the ball and can pick out a pass/goal, could do a good job at Stoke.

I'm another that wants Andreas Cornelius, Seen a few games he has been in and he looks to be a quality player, whatever league you are in a great finish is a great finish! the goal about a minute in is a fantastic team goal and just beautiful to watch btw, so keep an eye out for that one! personally hope we sign him, we can get him cheap he might be one of the few stoke players to be purchased that has a resale value too! Some impressive goals in there. He's got a great touch and although I agree that he would be a gamble he could be worth a punt.

A whole lot of criminal offences. Drink driving is a criminal offence, not a traffic offence. As good as a player he was, he blew it when he got locked up for a third time for drink driving. He clearly hasn't learnt his lesson. No sympathy for drink drivers...just look at Luke McCormick and the devastation he caused. The amount these guys get paid, they could have a bloody chauffered car to ferry them around if they want a drink. And traffic offences are also criminal offences when that serious, it would be reasonable to assume from his repeated drink related problem that there is where the root of his problems lie.Etherington was helped with his gambling addiction, we don't know whether help has been offered to Pennant. This was the entire point of my remarks thst none of us know the full facts and this must limit our judgement to speculation. Full circle. That's probably a fairly safe assumption.

I think it's obvious to anyone even half interested that Pennant rates fairly highly on the DickHead-O-Meter. His antics on the road could very easily have got somebody killed. If someone in a normal line of work had acted in that manner they would have seen their livelihood, and probably the rest of their life also, disappear down the swanny. So the question is, why should Pennant be any different?
Leaving that aside though it would be of little risk to the club to offer him a contract heavily weighted towards pay-as-you-play. Sparky might even get some good performances out of him.

can anyone tell me what is stokes long term plan because im not buying all this self supporting football club idea where a chairman doesn't support it financially.stoke city made a total of 71m up from 68m the year before the wage bill is 53m up from 47m the year before of our income so over all we made a net debt of 14m loss before tax was 10m..every year good quality players cost more and more there wages go higher and higher we only get gates receipts of 8m a year retail and merchandising came in at 3m..so to keep up with inflation of players values and wages demands weres the money going come from to forefil this crazy idea a club with 27.5 thousands fans can compete with out financial backing of a chairman .it simple cant unless u find a garth bale playing up hanley park every couple of years u sell for 80m and thats the unrealistic dream peter coats has and tony pulis was dead against .to own a premiership club you need be a billionaire times over and prepared to spend a millions and millions on making ur team the best u can and not worry u lose 100m or 200m here or there ..every top club in every european league except the odd few is the club who has the deepest pockets with the richest owners who buy the best players off everyone else the gap between the top clubs in the prem and the likes of us is growing wider and wider .u can say we dont have a massive debt like the likes of man city n chelsea but so what in theory they dont as well man city have a owner worth 20.000m so if man city has a debt of 58m and a loss of 198m thats like u having 20k in the bank and owing the milk man 200 quid in theory ur in debt but its easy payable anytime u choose .peter coats when interviewed said football is about buying n selling players ( something pulis didnt do) in fact its not about buying n selling players its about buying players getting the best years out of them and getting rid when they cant compete at a high level anymore..football is all about who has the most money and buys the best player to try make stoke self running on owe low investments would mean we will always be a small club fighting to stay in the league the fact we would have to sell players like bego to the likes of liverpool and others tells u we will always be a small club untill we have a chairman who can afford to own a club whos prepared to buy the best players and keep ur best players.. Paragraphs are for pussys.

Worth as much of a shout as anyone. The problem is that at the moment nobody has a sodding clue who the new boss will be, and the longer the club leave it without saying anything the more it looks like we've been caught with our pants round our ankles.

However his CV does look good on paper, and as we know people have very short memories, so I wouldn't be surprised to see him get another Prem or top Championship job.

The website is managed by a third party, fyi. That shouldn't stop the club issuing a statement in a timely manner.

It doesn't reflect well on the club when they can't even release a proper statement confirming the manager leaving!

Well for what it is worth, bloke who put his £1k on RDM reckons he has lost the bet. He also said 'the media are looking in the wrong places' and he thinks they met a foreign manager in London last week Interesting that he thinks he has lost is grand Isn't RDM due another season of compensation from Chelski? If so wouldn't taking another job cancel this out? Which would make him taking the Stoke job unlikely.
