On their arse that club. Less than 15 years ago that they were in an FA Cup quarter-final and securing a mid-table finish in the Prem.

The karma for that non-penalty for the foul on Lee Dixon in 1987 is finally starting to show.

I thought they had agreed a deal to play the Ricoh for free nrxt season? From the article . . . . . . . . ACL has offered to the administrator use of the Ricoh Arena for home games rent-free - with Coventry City meeting matchday costs only - but only while the club remains in administration.

Staggering really, very similar in size to us, mainly local supporters, similar history, and it was not so long ago that we were in a similar position league wise. Makes you realise just how grateful we should be to Lord Peter of Sideway for steering us on a steady course financially.

What really confuses me about this whole saga is the lengths ACL seem to have gone to to make it awkward for Cov.
Surely the stadium is utterly unviable without CCFC as a tennant?

It's true, subject to league approval and could mean that the club play their home games there for at least 3 years! What a dilemma many fans are boycotting the club merchandise and are saying they are not prepared to travel beyond Coventry for their home games. Locally it is believed that they will buy the land currently used by the Coventry Bees speedway team and build a new stadium there, but it will take at least 3 years to complete The Northampton ground only holds 7500 fans! How many Stoke fans would add an extra 35 miles to travel to a home game I wonder?

Club nicknames have rather got lost in the modern flashiness of football havent they ! Whatever happened to the Pensioners ??? Indeed. And the Glaziers. And the Biscuitmen. Notwithstanding the fact that Huntley and Palmer may no longer have a factory in Reading, the re-invention/re-branding of a nickname always seems a bit flakey to me. And calling yourself The Reds/Blues/Sky Blues/Rossoneri/etc is just lazy.

How the hell have they got a similar history to us, they played there first top flight game in 1967! that's 1967, not 1867,

Reference the Coventry Bees stadium. This is situated in a village called Brandon and I'd doubt they'd get planning permission. The locals grumble about the traffic speedway and the greyhound racing generate. So I can't see that being a starter.

I personally would not like to see a club like them go out of business. Simillar fan base, of mainly local supporters.

What the hell are they going to do with a football stadium with no football club as a tenant?? Surely having CCFC paying them any amount is better than having the stadium lay empty.

I think it was shown that they make more from the other things than they did from Cov, such as casino, gigs etc, so I can't see it being a massive loss for them in the grand scheme of things.

Have you ever met a Coventry fan? Listening to them droning on about 34 consecutive years in the top flight is a fate worse than being stuck next to Dario Gradi on a long bus trip.

Strange for such a big city to have its club go like this, remember that cup game when we lost to them at the Vic in a real good game and they went onto win the FA cup the first major thing they had or ever won, a childhood friend of mime was there captain that season and lifted the cup for them
