Coming up, hosted today by Ray Stubbs and Alvin Martin. He'll be chuffed he will no longer have to be subjected to the incisive, probing questions by Ronnie Irani.

He lived next door to my niece. One day he was washing his car blasting out Oasis, not knowing who he was, she approached him and stroppily asked him to turn his music down. He apologised and did so, man of the people our Rory.

I think the story of the club sticking by Rory in one of his darkest moments clearly still touches him as it does all of us. It was an example of how such an act of kindness can be repaid handsomely by a grateful man. A lesson to us all i would think.

A proper fans player. A nice guy and a normal bloke. See my post about Nani in the other thread.
Good luck Rory, you will be missed mate.

As others have said, when he gets his coaching badges and is ready to to call time on his career we could do a lot worse than offer him a job. I think he has the patience and dedication to make a fine coach and youngsters, especially, could hardly have a better role model.
It is rare to find a true gentleman in professional football these days - they broke the mould when they made Rory.

It is rare to find a true gentleman in professional football these days - they broke the mould when they made Rory. One of my favourite players of the prem era, mainly because having had a similar injury to Rory myself its easy to know the dedication he put in to get back playing. Lets be honest he helped establish us and give us (for better or worse) an easily recognisable identity. And no matter what's levelled against him for his ability he always gave us 100% even when he was hung out to dry on the wing. I would be surprised to see him back as a coach. I wonder with pulis's demise if the fabric and core of the club for the last 6 years (back room and players) has now gone for good.
