For all of his faults, he’s our difference maker. If we can keep him happy and engaged, he’s the player who elevates is above and beyond the mediocrity of the current group of relegation candidates. If Lambert can continue to get that level of performance out of him, we’ll score more than enough goals to stay up.....assuming he does likewise with the defense. He’s easily worth a goal a game when he’s on it, and we don’t have another player who comes close to that.

Have we? As far as I’m aware, the only player we have who would remotely be considered a left winger is Ramadan. Jese is a left winger. On the evidence of what we’ve seen so far, he’s clearly not a very good one.

Definitely a left-sided player whenever I’ve seen him, and a very good one. Would be a great addition, since neither Choupo or Ramadan have done enough to lay claim to the spot vacated by the Austrian snake. We've got 3 first team left wingers currently. One is a good reason why deals like this aren't very good. Have we? As far as I’m aware, the only player we have who would remotely be considered a left winger is Ramadan.

According to Wiki, he’s a winger that likes to cut inside and shoot. That would free up Shaq to play in the middle, if he can play on the right. He seems to have moved around a lot - any one know why? Isn't he predominantly left sided? Definitely a left-sided player whenever I’ve seen him, and a very good one. Would be a great addition, since neither Choupo or Ramadan have done enough to lay claim to the spot vacated by the Austrian snake.

Have MLS clubs started their pre season yet? New York's last game was on bonfire night. And their season doesn't start until March. So his fitness to play from the off may not be there. But I hope he signs, bloody good player. Pre-season starts next week, so he’s not going to be in peak shape just yet but I agree, he’s a very good player and is exactly the kind of youngster we should be perusing. At his age, fitness shouldn’t be an issue anyway, so you would think he would be ready to roll. Jack on the right with Bauer would mean some serious pace down that flank, and would free-up Shaq for the #10 role, where he is infinitely more effective.

I wouldn't be surprised. Southampton have been woeful this season, just as bad as us. I saw their game against Leicester a couple of weeks ago and it could've easily been 6-0 to Leicester by the hour mark. And I'm saying this as someone who actually has a lot of respect and admiration for Southampton. This. Despite the usual know-it-all’s on here telling us how Southampton are streets ahead of us, they have been absolutely fucking awful. They lad from Juventus that the “pinched” from under our noses has been one of the main culprits. Looks like we dodged another Imbula. He had two or three games where he looked like a world beater and then packed it in and has done fuck all since. Let’s hope the Spuds get a sackfull today.

15 points will see us safe. Let’s just get them as quickly as possible and be done with this relegation dogfight bollocks. Take it one game at a time, knowing that every one of our next five is very winnable. Unlikely that we’ll win five in the bounce, but that should be the immediate goal looking at who we’re facing.
Get through the next five and let’s see what we need from there.

I remain convinced that if Diouf is played as a center forward for an entire season, he’s the man to get us around 15 goals. That’s about as decent a haul as a team at our level could hope for if we’re being realistic. Mame has been fucked around beyond measure in the last three years, but his head has never dropped and he’s given it his absolute all wherever he’s been asked to play. He deserves a chance to make the spot his own, and I can’t imagine anyone not wanting the lad to succeed. He’s a fantastic character.

I truly think this should be a fresh start for everybody. Let’s see who steps up and shows their worth, and that includes Wimmer and Berahino. There are plenty of others who haven’t exactly covered themselves in glory this season and they’re getting a clean slate, so this pair should get the same.
With that said, the Berahino story is hardly doing him any favors, and it may just be the final nail in his disastrous Stoke career. If that’s the case, it needs to happen fast and let’s just move on. If not, and he’s still here, then he gets the same clean slate as the rest of ‘em in my opinion.

Wasn’t about individual performances today, it was all about functioning as a team and we did that superbly. 10/10 all round.

I genuinely feel emotional after that. Very proud showing and togetherness from the club and fans. Same here. Genuinely had a few tears in my eyes when that second goal went in. Feels like we have something back that’s been missing for a long time.

10.
Organized, determined, motivated, and somehow looking a whole lot fitter and faster than we did a week ago. He’s got them doing the basic things well, and while there’s still plenty for him to work on, that’s a fantastic base to build from.

We lacked quality from Adam and Fletcher, but this was the most organized team I've seen in a year. Great job all around I thought Adam had a very good game.

Organized, hard working, tough in the tackle, defensively sound, quick on the counter and a little bit of quality up top now and again.
We’ve missed you, and welcome back!

Erik has been better too. New manager effect Tex? Playing him in a role that suits him effect. Pieters is a very good left back. He’s not a fucking wing back. Kudos to Lamboner for immediately addressing it.

A massive lack of quality from both sides, but there is a noticeable lift in energy and intensity from us, which is a decent start. He’s had less than a week to have any real impact, but at least seems to have us looking a bit more organized and energetic. Really couldn’t care less about quality today as long as we can find a way to take the points.

Normally would suggest that what a player does in his own time is his own business, as long as it’s not affecting his performance. In this tools case, however, I would be meeting with lawyers right now to see if there is a way of leveraging this to cancel his contract without penalty. Just sack the fucker and be done with it. £12 million quid plus wages down the shitter, but at least we stem the bleeding by not paying his salary any more. So anyone who shags a whore should be sacked....Mmmm...Got a feeling the Job Center is gonna be busy Monday... Read The post again....slowly.

Massive game. Those just above us all have much tougher games on paper, so winning this one could give us a big lift. Psychologically, a win would do us the world of good, too. I don't even wan't to contemplate losing it. Assuming Shawcross is still out and we don;t make any additions before the weekend, I would go with this. Butland Bauer Zouma Martins Indi Peiters Ireland Allen Adam Shaqiri Ramadan Diouf Bench: Grant Crouch Choupo-Moting Fletcher Wimmer Edwards Berahino Cameron Let's just grind out a win, relieve the stress a bit and then focus on doing what business we can to support the new gaffer. We clearly need to spend in several areas including left back, central midfield, striker, and IMO both wings need to be addressed. Shaq is a far better number 10 than he is right winger, and neither Choupo-Moting or Ramadan have done enough to make the left wing spot their own. IT's a lot to ask, and I doubt we'll address all of those areas in January, but let's hope we can at least bring in 2-3 quality additions. Bauer looks like he could be exactly what we need, so at least thats a start. No matter who we play, we have to play one of the two available defensive mid-field players or we’ll be overrun. That means either Cameron or Fletcher have to start. Cameron I can live with, but I think Allen could do a better job there than either of them until we get somebody else in. Fletcher brings absolutely nothing to the role.

Kostas Staphylidis is in search of a team, since the current season is not calculated by Augsburg. The international ace only counts two matches with the German team and has taken the decision to leave. Stoke, for its part, after Paul Lambert's recruitment to technical leadership, is looking for players to step up the team and began debates with the 24-year-old ace to acquire it in the form of borrowing by the end of the season. If the transfer goes on, then Staphylidis will become the fourth Greek to compete at the Premier League right after Karnezis, Holebas and Mavropanos. Did you use Google translate to change that from English to whatever language Benji uses?

No such thing as a good bunch when they play us. We need to pick one for the treatment. Funny coloured boots, daft hair, shorts too long. Don't care. We tried that at the start of one season a few years ago. Can’t remember who it was or who we were playing. Pretty sure we lost though and they scored. Wasn’t it Drinkwater at Leicester?

WOW, Thanks for creating this topic, I really appreciate it. - I am a fan for Ramadan and I like to watch all Egyptian players abroad but I have only joined this forum and I didnt join "Liverpool - Arsenal - Westbrom...etc forums", I dont know why but mostly because I believe in Ramadan more than any other Egyptian player including Salah. "and I dont know Ramadan in person " - Yes, I joined the forum because of Ramadan but it is about 2 seasons now supporting Stoke, watching all games, being here everyday, even when Ramadan is not playing I like to watch and support all Stoke games, and I think I will always support the team even when Ramadan moves, may be I will not watch all games like now but I have good memories here, I wish the team will be better in the upcoming games, I am really sad for the people here who love Stoke they deserve better than that. - Before Ramadan, mostly me and Egyptians dont know much info about Stoke City except "they are a defensive team and big teams dont like to face them", After watching all Stoke games I see the defense is the worst line and this idea wasn't so true. Egypt is more than 100 million population, most of us love football, it may be the most important thing for most of Egyptians in their life, looks crazy but it is true, and most of Egyptians love Ramadan especially Al Ahly fans who can be estimated as 75% of Egyptian fans or more, I think Stoke City population is only half million so in case all of them watch all Stoke games so absolutely we have at least 10 millions who are watching all Stoke games in Egypt "20 doubles than fans in Stoke on Trent", many of my friends are watching all Stoke games and we always discuss it, I always see people in streets wearing Ramadan T-Shirt with Stoke "but a fake T-Shirt", and all cafes broadcast Stoke games. I have a friend who recently moved to work as a physician in Stoke on Trent, although he is "Zamalek fan and doesnt like Ramadan" but he goes to the stadium to support him and the team. - I dont like the way Hughes used with Ramadan, Ramadan was much much much better than now, even with the national team Egyptian fans are angry cause he is not Ramadan himself, a shadow of Ramadan that we know, recently he wants to make safe passes and defend and has 0 confidence although he was full of confidence he was able to beat any defender, I wish the upcoming manager can understand the guy and help him to build his confidence back, he really can help the team, Salah, El Neny, Hegazy, Elmohamady were playing in Egypt and no one of them did what Ramadan did here, he was supposed to be much better than all of them. Ramadan is not only a good player, he is a real fighter that has been turned to an employee under Hughes, I believe he will become a fighter again just need a suitable environment. My advice for Ramadan to stay in Stoke, to try the new manager and see if he is improving or not, also from personal point of view I like the team, the fans and I want him to continue too, if he wants to move then I wish he can come back to Al-Ahly. I have been to England for just 1 week and didnt have a chance to be in contact with people there, just a tourist but here in the forum I see there are many similarities between English and Egyptian people, I thought English people dont like us as Egyptians, I thought there are many racists there but I believe they are not many they are few but have loud voice, same like here most of Egyptians are not religious or "fake religious" but a minority are extreme so foreigners think Egypt is full of terrorists. I wish Ramadan can be the new leader for Stoke, I wish i will be able to visit the city and support the team from the stadium, It is like a dream for me to attend Stoke games in stadium but I am a bit busy with medicine currently. I love this guy!!! If every person on the Oatcake chucks a tenner in we can fly him over and give him some proper Stokie hospitality!! Let’s make it £20 and make him manager. #HeshamIn

How the fuck do Liverpool find the energy to keep pressing like this for the full 90? Or am I too used to seeing a team of old plodders? I was thinking the same. I felt out of breath just watching the first twenty minutes. They’ve been fucking immense in terms of effort from minute one.

Showing what a lot of people always thought about citeh at the back. Champions league will be the same. So you’re using this one game to judge them, rather than the other 30 or so this season where they’ve looked unbeatable? That’s a load of old bollocks, mate.
