For a professional career that at best is over by your mid-thirties, it’s really not much. I never understand this argument. Even at 35 it’s not like they are too old to get another job. £200k a year invested correctly would mean he can have a nice house mortgage free and get a job he enjoys for the next 35 years. What gives sportsmen the right to expect to work until their 30s and then play golf for the rest of their life? Market value. Would you do your job for a fraction of what your market value is? He’s made it to a professional level in an industry that a tiny fraction of the population would ever get close to, and you don’t think he deserves the relatively basic pay he’s receiving? Sure, he can live comfortably on 200k a year, and pay off a decent home and invest a decent amount if he chooses to live frugally, and then go and get a regular job once he retires if he wants to maintain the same lifestyle. But let’s not pretend like he’s milking anyone with the money he’s making. It’s a relative pittance in the industry he’s working in.

Vastly improved footballer and an excellent squad player. He’s also the lowest earner of all the first team squad members at £220,000pa (£4,231 pw), barely a living wage! How on earth does he survive? For a professional career that at best is over by your mid-thirties, it’s really not much.

Nothing was coming off for him today, but I’ll give the lad credit for just keeping going. He was having a mare but continued to try and make things happen. I’ve seen plenty of players that would have gone into hiding after half an hour and wouldn’t have wanted the ball. I like him - he’s got some grit and he’ll be a key player this season.

Unless he can conjure an epic turnaround over the next three games, I can see that home game against Sunderland becoming very, very uncomfortable for him.

Sometimes it’s really hard being a dyslexic, agnostic insomniac.
I was awake all night last night wondering if there really is a dog.

If you have a VPN is it possible to route through UK and watch through BBC I Player? Yes. Express VPN is what I use.

It’s not called match of the day, but if you have Peacock, they do a Premier League highlights package on Saturday and Sunday nights. Also, you can get Championship highlights on ESPN+.

Never really got a sniff today and looked increasingly frustrated against a very well drilled defense. Still not understanding the vitriol that he incites on here though, and think he’s more than capable of hitting 15-20 goals in this side over the season.

Not understanding the hate for Campbell on here. He’s causing them problems and looks our biggest threat. He’s going to be a key player for us, and I can see him thriving in that front three with Vidigal and Wesley.
Burger and Lehris both look like quality additions.

Looks like Rowett didn’t learn any lessons while he was here, and much like our fan base, Millwall are not going to be the most forgiving bunch once you’ve had a pop at them…..especially while having to endure the turgid football that Rowett seems to inflict on fans wherever he goes.
Nice opportunity for us to go twist the knife of Saturday and get the locals all riled up. Could be a very uncomfortable afternoon for Gary 😂

We were miles off it today, but Ipswich look like a very good side at this level and will be a handful for most teams. They completely overran us in midfield, and they look like a very organized, well drilled outfit and a real threat on the break. On a positive note, Wesley looked like he could be a big player for us the season - be interested to see how he does as he gets back to full fitness.

Premier league aside have we had much foreign winger success? Bjarni and Hoekstra spring to mind. Hopefully he doesn't end up another Demar Phillips. Toddy Orlygsson.

Not a player but...... Hughes, I'm convinced he'd have had just enough in the tank to scrape the points we needed to avoid relegation, then we could have got shot of him in the summer..... Hindsight is a wonderful thing as they say!!! Don’t disagree with that at all. Things had definitely gone tits-up and he needed to go, but replacing him with Lambert was criminal.

I think they were all in their mid to late teens when they released that first album, and I guess they have just moved on musically. Unfortunately, the new stuff is complete dogshit and it’s entirely unrelatable to their original fan base. Is that selling out? I dunno - I guess each to their own and they are now a massive global band, but I just don’t get it at all. This entire set is just boring as fuck.

Florida is a fantastic place to live, as long as you’ve got money (he has) and don’t mind being surrounded by narrow minded, bigoted, gun toting Neanderthals who have a hatred of anyone that doesn’t share their views. That's true in the panhandle, but I wouldn't think it's true in Miami-Dade County. Miami Dade County is a different world from the panhandle - but it’s still a shithole peppered with pockets of obscene wealth. Not a pleasant place at all.

I think winning stuff in Europe still on big money is better. But living in Miami earning a fuck ton is great and you can’t really fault him for wanting that. I’d just want to beat every record Ronaldo has to erase him the history books 🤣🤣 Florida isn't the best and Miami particularly unpleasant by all accounts I'm sure he's got a nice gaff there though Florida is a fantastic place to live, as long as you’ve got money (he has) and don’t mind being surrounded by narrow minded, bigoted, gun toting Neanderthals who have a hatred of anyone that doesn’t share their views. Miami is also a shithole once you get outside of the multi-million dollar gated, waterfront mansions, which he will have no need or desire to do. Not a bad place to retire with his billions.

Very tough game and I’ll be delighted if we get anything out of it. With that said, Boro will know this is no walkover after our recent improvement, and if we manage to win this one, people will start to take notice. We’re more than capable of causing an upset if we maintain the level we’ve seen in the last few weeks.

Those next six games look like a serious slog and I think we’re going to get dragged into a proper scrap. It’s worrying, to say the least.
