My God Have people heard themselves. Campbell should not be near the first team. He plays for the under 23's. It is not even league 1 standard. We really cannot be this desperate SGS If he's banging in goals, he earns a chance to show what he can do....especially when we don't seem to have anyone in the first team squad that is doing the business. Give him a run out, and let's see if he can step up and stake his claim. There are plenty of players at the top level that have earned a start at his age and gone on to nail down a regular starting place. Sadly though, not at Stoke.......and the attitude you're displaying is the main reason why.

It’s live on CNBC Stateside, 7.30am Eastern Time. Too early to numb the nerves with a bottle of bourbon? The CNBC coverage, which I will watch too, always cuts to the game with about 3 seconds to kick off from some other programme - no build up, nothing. Agreed, it’s pretty dismal......but it’s a whole lot better than the coverage we will be faced with next season if the unthinkable happens. I assume it would have been on NBC Sports, but was shifted due to the Winter Olympic coverage.

In bloody Australia live on Optus Sport channel. Kicks off at 23.30pm AEST I don't like the Optus coverage. But it's a problem I would like to have next season. Where else? It’s live on CNBC Stateside, 7.30am Eastern Time. Too early to numb the nerves with a bottle of bourbon?

A win on Saturday would do us the world if good. We need something to spark a bit of hope. Agreed, but honestly, what are the chances of us beating Leicester away? 1/100? Maybe I wouldn’t rule us out just yet.

Arnies injury time goal at West Ham after he'd just had one disallowed & his mental in front of their fans. Tuncays goal against The Shit. Danny Rose beasting. That West Ham game was superb. Arnie was like a man possessed in the last 15 minutes or so and pretty much took them on all on his own. I think the anger and bitterness at the way he left can cloud peoples memories of just how good he was for us at times and, ironically, that game is one that will live long in the memory.

1-0 against Manchester City at The Brit. The 80th minute roar. The mother of all atmospheres. A spine-tingling, rip roaring thing of beauty, even watching on the telly in a foreign country.
2-0 against Manchester City at The Brit. Stokealona at it’s magical but short-lived peak. The best football I’ve seen from a Stoke side in my lifetime.
6-1 against Liverpool at The Brit. The stuff of dreams for a kid that grew up at a time when Liverpool where the best of the best.
Whelan’s late winner at Spuds.
Every game where we’ve beaten the Gooners at The Brit. All of them.

CNBC......just found it, this must have been a change......DVR was set up to record a different game......I like it, still 0-0 at the 28th minute. Watched it in a pub full of Arsenal fans in Orlando. Contemplating glassing a few of them right now.

Just tried to take a shot at it, and it just emphasis that there is a long way to go with virtually no way of predicting results for an of the games between the bottom half teams. A couple of wins can put teams in a top half position and a couple of defeats can leave teams in deep shit. For what it's worth, I had us surviving on 37 points, with Huddersfield, West Brom and Southampton going down.

He's a bargain basement winger, no more, no less. The crapper side of average. Inconsistent. Mercenary. A bit of a dickhead. I honestly could not give a fuck about him. I'd rather have Ramadan playing, although I don't really rate him either. But Of a dick head in what sense? Not seeing that at all.

He sums us up...this season..turns up for 5 mins..then just becomes a spectator..Hoping everyone else can do something..Doesn't track back or even take anyone on..Just seem to carry him..Should have kept Walters.. Not sure what game you watched yesterday, but I saw him track back plenty, and at one stage made a last ditch tackle in the box that prevented what ooked like a certain goal. Thought he worked his bollocks off yesterday, but faded badly after about an hour or so - and he wasn’t the only one. The whole squad looks severely lacking in fitness.

Ultimately it's his train set for as long as he's at the helm. It's a better 'journey' than any of the previous custodians. Winds me up the call from folk who think they're qualified to run such an operation, asking for him to step aside. Spent £25 odd million a week ago. It's never enough for some fuckers. Take a moment to look at where we are, squad full of internationals, Champions League winners... If this needy and expectant attitude transfers to the ground we deserve to go down. Too quick to rush to the 'blame' game... I don't think we'll drop, but then what? Who's 'fault' will that be? Spot on, Cheesy. The sense of entitlement is embarrassing.

Excellent post but we ain’t down yet. Back in 2008 I would have taken the 1 season we all thought we were going to have at the most after that 3-1 defeat at Bolton but to have enjoyed on the whole what we have had since then as not being bad. Let’s hope against hope that we somehow stay up for him. That's right there's a long way to go. Easy to forget that in the current depression. It’s also easy to forget just how much money Coates has made available over the last 10 years or so. He’s coming in for far too much stick IMO, and some of that is purely down to a sense of entitlement that seems to be rampant amongst our fan base.

Crouch starting is a strange one, especially with Adam (the man most likely to drop it on his bonce) not in the side.
Still, would be no surprise to see big Pete shut the doubters up with a goal. Looking forward to seeing what big Badou can do.

This is such a positive and upbeat thread... involving mainly ex-pats...coincidence? Get back to Stoke and be miserable like the rest of us! LP Coming back for 18 days in June, is stoke still open, looked like Beruit 3 years ago.Hanley was a slum. Was just back for Christmas, and unfortunately is gotten worse.

Thanks cousin. Love Georgia. Spend time whenever we can in Savannah, Tybee Island and last trip Jekyll Island. I am planning a trip to the US this Summer. Been a few times but planning a trip to the confederate states this year. Roughly drafted. Washington DC-Chesapeake to Yorktown-Richmond-Charleston-Savannah-Atlanta-Montgomery(Civil War + Selma etc)-Memphis-Nashville-Roanoke- back to DC. We both like our history so will be stopping off at any Revolutionary/Civil war sites. Any tips from resident Americans or expats appreciated. What is the tipping % these days in these States? I assume DC is at New York - Chicago levels and the other places slightly less? 20% is fine at a restaurant, and as others have said, it’s amazing what a couple of dollars can do to the pour of your liquor Richmond has some of the best restaurants in the country right now. Great little city. Pop into Penny Lane if you’re here while the season is still going and you’ll find a good few exciles enjoying the game. When are you over?

At what point will people fall out of love for the game of football Sanchez will earn 14 million pounds a year after tax Yes he will take home a small sum of 270 thousand pounds a week surely there has to be a breaking point where the ordinary person is just going to enough is enough That's about ten times the national average income for a year in a single week. Nobody can possibly 'earn' that, especially not a mere footballer. The worlds gone mad. Absolutely fucking mad. As long as the club is making a return in investment, then the player is absolutely “earning it”. Opinions on whether it’s right or wrong are irrelevant, unfortunately.

It’s not a defect in the rules. Just some people are trying to redefine the game. If there are eleven men on the pitch playing within the rules, it’s fiotball. You might not like the tactics and you might find that approach boring, but it’s still football. The game is almost 200 years old and there have been many styles of play and tactical approaches, so clowns like Wenger and Klopp need to pipe down and stop making excuses when they are tactically out-though, out-manouvered and beaten fair and square. They dont have excuses, they know the rules, they had the option to park the bus too but they didnt prefer it. Of course, they have the right to play however they choose within the laws of the game, just as Swansea do. Just wish they would quit complaining when it doesn’t go the way they had hoped. Klopp should focus on his own team’s inability to win the game and stop maiming about the oppositions succesful tactical approach that earned them the points. If he likes basketball so much, he can go coach a basketball team. As long as he’s in the business of managing a football team, he should grow up and stop talking bollocks.

Always enjoy your posts, Doc......but you’re way off the mark with that one I’m afraid. It is football, diversity of ideas or opinions is completely normal. By the way, If i am a football manager I will park the bus and depend on counter attacks because it is the easiest and safest way to win but I admit this is a defect in the rules. Any way English people invented the football game, so they have the rights to change its rules or not "just kidding". It’s not a defect in the rules. Just some people are trying to redefine the game. If there are eleven men on the pitch playing within the rules, it’s fiotball. You might not like the tactics and you might find that approach boring, but it’s still football. Football rules need to be changed because of games like this, football = game , game = enjoyment , 11 players in penalty area for 90 minutes will never be enjoying. Always enjoy your posts, Doc......but you’re way off the mark with that one I’m afraid.
