I know this has been done to death and I really don't give a shit but just got home and waited to post this
1) Mr Dog, spot on in your article 2) Mr Goulding. So are you .
Now bearing in mind I didn't go home or away for most of the season, although a few, I have the following observations
Palace second goal goes in . you leave, in droves, Really really really . Fucks sake I'm Stoke till I die at the end. Yes we are . Not halfway down the fucking road Guess what lots of Stokies were doing in the the afternoon . Drinking meeting up, being stokies and being pragmatic. The match is just a part of being a Stokie
Relegation is a part of the wonderful highs/lows of being a stokie . it's shit, it happens and it will again . as will promotion
As much as it pains me I've been watching Stoke for over 43 years (first match against palace as it happens)
Its mainly shit. always has been
We are stoke

Your saying that you didn’t attend games for most of the season yet your calling someone like (who has been to every home game) a snowflake fan for leaving early? I’ll be back in August and I’ll be desperate to see the fixture list when the are released on June the 21st

Part-time & you dare to criticise others for going early. You don't know why they leave so why get upset about it? By the way, I've been going since the 1940's, & NO, I don't expect a medal. I'll be there next season as well. Will you?

I love it when GD gets his keep net out of the loft, ties a fly on his hook and casts towards the opposite bank! He is the Stokie answer to JR Hartley!

Mind you, you'll have to go through channels via Mr Scholes, so don't get your hopes up. GD won't be there. Last I heard his sofa engine was in for a full rebore and it blew the valves when they rebuilt it. Oi GD, the club needs you in its hour of need. Even Frenchy says you're a part-time wanker these days. (He muttered it in his normal drunken stupor and ended it with Vulva la France, or summat like that.) Saw Para Saturday. He's grown a beard you know! He looks like a dosser from Boslem these days. Heh heh. OS.

Telling everyone you will still be there in no way remedies the slow-motion car crash of a season.
Neither should those that will still be there be any less angry about the leadership of the club.

If what I’m told is true, there wasn’t even a half-hearted whistling of the Great Escape theme this season. If the fans aren’t prepared to take relegation seriously, what do you expect the players to do?

I've left stoke twice early in my life.
Blackburn away in the cup when we were 4-1 down and people started fighting, i thought 'fuck that'
And on Saturday. I didn't leave straight after their goal, I left a minute later when Zouma booted it straight out of play 10 seconds after our kick off. I had seen a manager throw away a (admittedly slim) chance of staying up with defensive shite tactics, forcing our best player out of the game and emphasising all our weaknesses. I had seen the team endlessly hoof to Crouch and have one real chance to show for it. I'm perfectly entitled to get home earlier and get a bit more work done on a uni report rather than sit baking in the sun whilst my club self destructs.

I've been going since 95-96, so seen promotion and now relegation twice. How would I sum it up? Pain and heartache, illuminated by brief moments of intense joy. I'll still be here next season and beyond as this is my club.

I left early because we were never going to score the TWO goals needed (two years since a late winner), I certainly didn't want to see any 'lap of shame' and we wanted to beat the angry bottleneck at the bridge and get a pint. There was literally nothing to stay for unless you want to happy clap failiure and humiliation.

Hardly fair to criticise someone who lives in Guernsey for not attending every match is it? This, although some of the comments are a bit OTT for me However, it is a fact that we will lose a number of fans who probably did only start watching in 2008 because they could see Ronaldo, etc etc, for far less money than travelling to Old Trafford. Always happens. always will. My mate has lived in Wigan for over 30 years, had never even seen them play before and then magically bought a season ticket for all the years they were in the Prem, and as soon as relegated he hasn't been since. Macc Town had a large turnout for their open-top bus tour on Sunday, yet only about 1 in 50 of the crowd will have been or will now go to actually watch the team Fickle fans have been around forever, just accept it and relish at least having a bit more elbow room in the seats for a season or two ( or three, or four )

This club needs a kick in the stones. Hope that helps. In all the ups and downs during my long career as Stoke fan, this is the most appalling cock up of a season. There was no need for it to happen, but for sheer incompetence by all involved!
