Which players from this era will go down as Stoke legends for you and why? When someone is called a legend, there is often debate about whether they deserve the label. This is about who you personally think are legends.

For me I think, shawcross, Delap, whelan, Sidibé, Fuller. All played their part in getting us promoted and then keeping us there too!

First name that came to my mind. Ryan and Ricardo are up there too. Honourable mentions to Crouch, SJW, Whelan, Arnie and Huth.

Shawcross, Walters, Whelan, Fuller, Etherington, Sorensen. Personally, although not legends, i love(d) these lot: Bojan - The epitome of our club's perceived ambition from 2014-2016 to push on, a bloody great bloke and a fantastic footballer. I'm sure many will be surprised i picked him Odemwingie - Pace, quality and one of the best finishers we've had in the prem. Completely changed us as a side. Arnie - What a fucking footballer, became a huge prick. Best player i've ever seen at stoke. Nzonzi - Quality far beyond a club like ours, never looked worried on the ball, always had more time than we thought on the ball. Weirdly, Charlie Adam in his first 3 years here - An incredible left foot, a strange amount of power with the ball, a cross to die for and drove the team forward when others wouldn't. Shame he turned into an idiotic prat who can't keep his thoughts or his studs to himself.

N'Zonzi deserves a mention as the best player to play for us during our stint in the Premier League.

I can't believe this guy hasn't been mentioned......
Thomas Sorenson. Probably our most important signing in that first season, he was as dependable as they come.... quite frankly, a top of his game Tommy is comparable than Butland at this point, with the exception that Tommy's kicking was far superior.

N'Zonzi deserves a mention as the best player to play for us during our stint in the Premier League. Definitely one of the best all rounders wasn't he. An ability to control the pace of the game. Fantastic to see him go onto bit something a bit special at Sevilla.

Abdoulaye, Shawcross, Fuller, Beattie, Mama, Walters, Crouch, Delap, Etherington IMO. Nailed it. Add Huth. Never forget him pulling that West Ham player out of the wall for us to score in the FA Cup QF. Right on 4:50 in video below.

Maybe Shawcross, Fuller, Delap and Owen (for putting us on the map). Owen? Legend for Stoke? I hardly remember a single thing he did. Lambert did more to “ put us on the map” than he ever did!

Maybe Shawcross, Fuller, Delap and Owen (for putting us on the map). If anyone put us on ''the map'' by raising our national profile it was Rory with those long throws.

What heart that team had... watching that you just realise how much our spirit has deteriorated over the years Absolutely. For all the flack he gets, and I wouldn’t want him back, Tony Pulis did an incredible job of building a team that was “fit for purpose “. Listening to how he called Sir Alex and asked for advice and was told you can’t compete, do something different. Then he narrowed field, built a team of warriors, and made life uncomfortable for any team arriving at the Britannia. He is definitely one of our top 5 managers of all time!

I'm surprised that no one has said Liam Lawrence or Andy Wilkinson. Any reason they're not held in such esteem?

This. If you have the first PL season review CD you quickly realise that Sorro kept us up that season. Other than Sorro for me Fuller, Shawcross, Delap, SJW, Huth, Abdoulay, Whelan, Adam, Allen. Why Hughes let Huth go is a complete mystery for me.

I'm surprised that no one has said Liam Lawrence or Andy Wilkinson. Any reason they're not held in such esteem? As someone said above, Wilko is a bit of a hero because he's an uncomprimising local lad, came up with us and is a decent sort, but he was a very limited footballer. He never quite established himself as an automatic starter and we were always looking to upgrade - don't think you can really attach the word legend to someone like that. Lenny was great but got injured and was a bit in and out of the team in the Prem.

I'm not going to call him a better 'man', but I do agree that to swap the two right now, the big Dane is far superior, or at least comparable in every respect.

Outside shout, but does Crouch deserve the legend tag. He's been a wonderful servant, and ever dependant or have his recent comments about moving away ended that?
