We used to stand on the left side also, about half way between the executive box and the goals roughly behind the first barrier things that you loved to get crushed against when the boothen surged forward as one!

If we keep getting the praise we are having at the moment and pundits commenting on how good a job he is doing will we become a victim of our own success.
He would be one of my picks if I was Abramovich over the like of Moyes, Rodgers and Monk etc..

Could the unthinkable happen in a kind of Lou Macari scenario, leaving us just as we are progressing!
Or would Mark turn them down after what happened at Man City?

More than the match commentators that said he had lost his head in the first half on the game I watched today. Then again every Stoke challenge was a foul and every Hammers foul was harsh according to them!

I remember walking into the ground talking to big Vince Overson, he was wearing a lumberjack type shirt and was built like a brick outhouse. He came across as a nice bloke! What a howler from Prudhoe near the end if I remember rightly.

We are also shyte according to the spurs messageboard "Very disappointed with the performance and result but not at all surprised ! We are in such a shyte form that any team can beat us now. All the players no longer seems motivated for the remaining matches of this season. So, it is hardly surprising that we got humiliated by a shyte team like Stoke. It is really unacceptable to lose home and away to Stoke in the same season for the first time in our history. This was also our worst defeat to Stoke in 80 years ! After the early promises, Pochettino no longer looks like improving the team. In fact, it feels like the players are no longer playing to his instructions." Shyte

For me I feel no need to justify the corner being constructed with fan numbers etc. The ground just doesn't look finished! You look at Derby's and it looks the way it should be, completed.
It's like the Basilica of Sagrada!

Yes. We'd be lingering mid table in the 3rd division somewhere without Coates. He's rebuilt the club, if we had left it any later we'd of never reached the Premiership let alone stay here for so long. Television money would of seen to that, we just caught it at the right time as the gravy train arrived. Coates deserves untold credit, even more so after the barage of abuse he suffered the first time around. Now we have a state of the art training complex, own our own ground, are cash rich and an established mid table Top Division club punching above our weight in reality for the crowds we get. That is a massive opposite of what we have been for many years and all because Coates chose to do it with his own cash, backing Pulis to the hilt with £20m + a window until we were an competitive squad, and no matter how many bad signings Pulis made Coates kept backing him, again and again until he'd spent beleived to be over £100m. We were in the top 3 highest net spenders for the first 3 years. I could go on and on. The guy deserves a medal. Whilst I agree with you that he has done wonders in his second stint, I don't agree with the above statement as Mr Coates was part of the decline that was the late 80's and 90's and why we were in the 3rd division in the first place. Selling Pesch on the verge of the play offs etc... The "Coates Out!" graffiti on the A500 has gone but we still remember it!

You would need a double statue for the two Peter Coates in our History. A back to back statue like Janus with one looking at the Britannia and one looking at the Vic. To symbolise his past mistakes in the 80's 90's and now the 00's where things have gone well! You would need a double statue of the supporters aswell, here during the good times, nowhere to be seen during the bad times. Surely that's just one statue then if one is nowhere to be seen!

Make use of the big screen like they do with the kiss cam etc... but have I'm Racist above their picture as the camera zooms in. Cue W@NKER! chant.
Then before the match those kicked out or banned for racist chants make a wall of shame before the next match.

In middle school a defender kicked the ball to clear it, I was on the halfway line and the ball hit my knee and flew halfway across the pitch and back of the goal.
Didn't know much about it but what a goal!!

Probably the injury was by the trademark Arsenal rolling falling action that happens when any of their players falls down.
If he had stayed sliding instead of doing the roll at the end he might have been ok!

Stoke 3 Barnsley 3, I think in the relegation season 89-90. Three nil down at home at half time. Bloke called don currie (aka Gypo) ruled the roost. Atoke awful. Second half as well as any SCfC team I have have ever seen. Three all. I remember that game well, 3-1 down with ten minutes to go and score two in quick succession. It was a cup game I went the replay midweek at Barnsley that nearly had a disaster with a crush.

I still don't understand grown ups who are proud of all the fighting and trouble making that was going on back then. Lots of fans stayed at home during this period, rather than taking their families to a match. This has cost the club we love at lot of money at a time we really needed it. I agree about the mindless violence having no place at football matches but I have to say it was quite bad at Grismby getting pelted in the corner by missiles from the Findus Stand and then being overrun at the front by Grimsby fans trying to get in. In the corner were a lot women and children as well as fellas but we were glad that those lads burst through the gate to come to our aid as the Police and Stewards were certainly not! You don't get the full picture on the video because we in the corner are not in shot, we were bearing the brunt from the Grimsby lads. Just because people were defending themselves and others (others being us in the corner) does not make them a hooligan! I felt the same at the Birmingham game too as it could have been a lot lot worse that day if they had got in our end!
