Gremlin if you want to turn your meeting into a book deal there's a girl on here who might be able to help, once she's finished the Danny Pugh epic!

That was a brilliant night, we set off with the knyp/vics coach.
We were in that temporary stand and were given loads of grief off their lads on the left if I remember correctly . They were livid when Peschy scored.
Mark Stein definitely looked like he wasn't going to score as he missed a sitter that he would normally easily have put away!
The coach on the way back hit the grounds main gates reversing and a Chelsea fan in a wheelchair was giving it the big un and had to be moved on by passers by.
Happy Days!!

The writer of that piece is trying to slight stoke for being programmed robots but isn't following instructions to the letter no matter what the basis of the forces!! In the Army each man has a job to do without question and in Stokes case it's exactly the same. So if the writer is using that as a slight then he's very wrong! Stoke are a very disciplined team, they may have lacked a bit of passion yesterday and our strikers had another off day but you can't knock their disciplined ranks and objectives. Blackpool played well yesterday and the game was a good battling performance. Stoke's weakness is when they ecounter the quick counter attack as I feel our midfield isn't quite good enough, but we are still building a team and that's just my opinion! Criticism for having discipline is very misguided!!

I think the sequence of binary 1-0 games must be a record way back in the early days!!

That's the one it hit his knee and went in he never did look convincing for stoke, left and hit what seemed like 30 goals when he joined Preston
Remember the bugle very well, what was that all about! It was funny as you say when the stoke fans did their own.
It was a nothing sending off though or am I wearing rose tinted glasses?

Great player for Stoke, was gutted when he left for Leeds. I remember against Middlesborough New Years Day 1990 he got sent off for a nothing challenge I think we won 1-0 with a goal from Tony Ellis!!

Very true pasa they are past glories and we only can look at the legacy left by the pots. All that wealth generated and the city council frittered it all away with hardly anything to show for it. It was fortunate at the time that wedgewood wanted to give back to the area through education etc. Just one thing to note is that we know it's down on the canvas and on the ropes but just like the football team Stoke City we will get back it's just a question of time and investment. Those people who made the beautiful ceramics are still here very hardworking skillful people, we may be living in a rundown area but why should people run an area down due to the state of its buildings and not look at those people who live there.

What I hate about these kind's of cheap shots at Stoke on Trent is that we never profess anything other than being a hard working area that produced the finest ceramics that the world has ever seen. The innovations of wedgewood were outstanding and I bet the princes of monaco ate and still eat from such items or have them on display!
It would be justified if we were shouting from the roof tops how cultured we were and how we had buildings to rival many cities but we don't!
Cheap shot's are just that cheap and reflect on the person writing them!!

I might be wrong but I have a feeling about Blackpool I think they will surprise a few people, like many on here who have written them off don't forget how we were treated when we arrived as new boys and the snears of derision in our direction, let's not be as bad as all the rest we should know better. Don't forget the likes of Paddy Power paying out etc. If any team goes out thinking they have won a match before a ball has been kicked like some prem teams did against us then you already have an advantage. Hence how we seem to struggle against so called lesser teams in the cup.
They are not going to set the prem alight but they won't be like West Brom trying to play fancy football and failing, they will be more a backs against the wall type team. Let's not forget how hard it was just to reach the prem, no mean feat in itself.
Good Luck Blackpool!! I have a soft spot for them especially with Sir Stan as a link!
