I think we all should lay off the nathan jones slating. I don't. He was / is very well paid to do nothing but fuck us up.
And the players played no part in that then?

I think we all should lay off the nathan jones slating. He very nearly gave himself a nervous breakdown trying to get things right. Maybe we should redirect our comments to the players who underperformed so badly under him and certainly appeared to not care about their then manager or stoke city but suddenly were capable to put in a good performance after one 45 minute session under the new manager, who it appears they suddenly have decided they want to play for. I think this speaks volumes or our players characters and as Andy Hinchcliffe has said "they should be ashamed"
I am 100% behind our new manager and am desperate for him to be successful but i will not forget in a hurry the attitude of these players prior to this appointment.

is the drink driving thing true ? This is no job for someone with drink issues ... he looks like he likes a drop . Strange irony appointing a manager with dd issues when theyve only just managed to get rid of berahino on this same issue.

The demise of our club is criminal negligence by our board and as many allude to including former players a certain tony scholes has played a huge part in that. Yet we the fans give him no pressure at all, i honestly feel w the fans need to give him a prolonged period of scholes out chants banners etc. And not just a 5minute chant at the next match but repeated chants for him to be sacked for however many games it takes for the board to get the message that we want scholes out for his part in our demise.
Our apathy is allowing him to hide his failures and sack manager after manager.
SCHOLES OUT.

London press and also wengers reaction and attitude towards shawcross didnt help.
I think a similar reaction from wenger happened to a birmingham player who was involved in tackle which injured an arsenal player.

What caught my attention was how chatty and chummy he was being with the West Brom players in the tunnel before kick off. Save it for after, you should be concentrating on beating the opposition mentally and physically and that starts when you leave the changing room. Real apathy in the players and the club at the moment. Rockets up arses is what’s needed. Were you actually in the tunnel to witness this? Sky tv cameras maybe!!!

Again poor penalty technique from jack when faced with a penalty. When will he stop dropping to the floor before the ball is kicked.
What is goalkeeper coach andy quy doing. Does he not coach penalty saving with Jack. Can he not see jack is making the same mistake every single time.
Sort it out Quy. Sort it out butland.

I would think most managers would get an improvement out of this squad which will of course will deflect any sort of spotlight on scholes. Personally i think their should be a prolonged period of scholes out protests. His record is equally as bad as the managers who have come and failed under his recruitment policy.

Pulis till end of season with pearson as coach... That would strike fear in this poor squad then pearson to become manager with TP to step up as director of football in charge of recrutment and player DNA. Im sure not many of our current players would pass his test. And the Coates family money wouldnt have so easily been wasted.

The lack on any sort of visible reaction from our owners is making me disillusioned.
Dither and delay sums our current board up.

Gutted.
Gutted our leadership didn't act sooner to remove Hughes when all fans could see it was going wrong.
Gutted this same leadership gave improved contracts when we went down to gutless players who we now can't give away.
Gutted we've made 2 bad managerial decisions and watched them waste the parachute payments on lower level gutless players who we will in future struggle to give away.
Gutted our club is stuck with these players for 2 or 3 years so there can be no improvement.
Gutted Mr Scholes continues to avoid the sack.
Gutted how we've gone from a so called Well run Premier team to an ill disciplined unfit shower of a squad.
Gutted our owners cannot see the wood for the trees.
Gutted it's gonna take years to become even a top 6 championship last club.

Can anyone else remember how we were acclaimed for having a well run club competing with the big boys in the Premier league. How newly promoted teams looked to Stoke for how to survive and thrive in the Premier league. It seems this praise fed our leaders ego and they thought they could sit back and just skip along happily in the Premier league.. They got that very wrong. Its frightening how quickly this once acclaimed well run club has disintegrated into the chaotic mix of confusion and rudderless leadership we see today

Jones out.
He just can't put a system and players together to win a game of football.
I'd consider Gary monk played a style which suited some very limited Birmingham City players last season and got results.

I don't understand how the players we've signed in the summer who have fought all there careers in a very competitive environment can mentally crumble when the going gets tough during a game after only spending a month here. It just doesn't make sense. If the weak players are those who were relegated as our players and they still can't get over it, then they must be kept away from the first team squad so not to demoralise the rest. And if that means starting again with youngsters and this summers signings then so be it, we have to remove this defeatist attitude from our dressing room.
If the problem is higher up or is Scholes himself as another poster alluded to then there is not a lot the manager can do until the Coates family wake up and smell the coffee.

Would take Olsen as the attacking left back bitI would imagine Jones knew Olsen was available but opted for Ward instead.
Again would take one or both Morrison or jedinak on short term. Both better than cousins and genuine competition for Allen and Clucas.

Too much player power these days they can do what they want knowing there big fat pay check will be paid regardless. Who still isn’t trying that isn’t in the bomb squad? That's what I want to know as well. Yesterday's squad was made up of Butland, Allen, Edwards all 2yrs+ at club. Ince, McLean, clucas, Etebo, Federici, Woods all just at the start of their 2nd season here. All others in yesterday's squad are this summers acquisitions. With Shawcross on the injured list. Presumably the bomb squad Indi, wimmer, bauer, imbula, ndiaye are having no daily input with th first team squad so where is this mentality lack of character coming from Find them, and put them in the bomb squad until we get rid of this attitude around the first team we can not progress at all.

We were told by the manager in the summer he had brought strong characters in, captains with winning mentality.... How within 5 games is the manager now questioning the players mentality. The manager needs to explain how this rapid deteriation in his players has come about.

We've been on the decline for 3 seasons or so, ever presents through this time have been Jack an Joe, maybe tough decisions need to be made very quickly over these 2 and their automatic place in the team.
Other players who need to buck up and gain consistency from game to game are Batth, Clucas, Woods and Ince. Worried about Batth - let go by pulis at boro he doesn't let good defenders go!! Woods and Clucas good one game poor the next have to gain consistency. Ince tries hard but 9 out of 10 shots sail over the crossbar time to change the player in this tip of diamond role if NJ insists on playing it.

Walked away from the ground at he end of the game v Derby more positive and optimistic than I have done for about 3 seasons. We looked to attack, created chances, had a plan, players worked hard. Great attitude. And yet still some cant see the improvement which is as clear as light and dark over last couple of seasons. With comments like "we're the worst team in the league" we are a new team playing a new system which I believe is good to watch and will brings goals and wins and hopefully it'll be Leeds who suffer a thrashing. Some people just like to wallow in negativity. People in here used to moan about the so called plastic Premier fans who allegedly spoilt the atmosphere at the games. Personally I'd happily see those fans back in the ground instead of the negative fans who post on here. I would be interested to know if these negative posters where Stoke fans before 2008 as they have a very blinkered view of what they class as good football.

What a terrible level the Scottish leagues are if celtic can win the treble over and over.
Scott brown is a poor man's Terry hurlock - minus the curls. And what a waste of a career for Scott sinclair a player who chose the easy life for medals worth no more than toys out of a cracker.
