I think mine would have to be sadness.
Sad that we’ve effortlessly pissed away a good, Premier League club.
Sad that we’ve slipped out of the limelight and into oblivion .
Sad that we’ve appointed managers not up to the task of managing Stoke City.
Sad that we still turn up week after week to be treated to shows of abject rubbish.
Sad that we’re nothing like the Stoke we were not even 4 or 5 years ago.
Sad that we’re not going to see the top flight for a good few years.
Sad at what the club has turned into.
Sad that we’ve spent millions and millions and made countless signings only to make us so much worse than we ever dreamt.
It’s just a fucking crying shame that it’s come down to this. We’ll be lucky not to get relegated to League One where we haven’t languished for 18 years! That’s a long, long time ago since we were this bad. It could take years to rebuild this and knowing what we had might not ever be achieved again is just sad. I know following Stoke has never been about glory and trophies but it’s been about pride and determination. We are so far lacking in both of those departments that it doesn’t bear thinking about.
When you support your club as a 12/13 year old it’s all just about the hope and I was used to us just being where we were. When you get older, you can see how hard it is to improve and get back to the top level. We’ve not been further away from that than we are now since I started going. We are well and truly frazzled and out of ideas.
It’s all just sad. How we’ve managed to piss it all away so quickly. We‘ll all still be there in some way supporting Stoke but gone are the days of sell our crowds, beating top European sides. We’re back to the grind of football league football. I by no means want or expect top level football on a plate but once you know what it’s like, seeing us this bad is soul destroying.
Maybe it will make me appreciate it more in the long run if and when we eventually make it back but losing so routinely away at Millwall really hits home how far we’ve derailed in the past two years. We’ve managed to get worse and worse and worse and are still in freefall yet it still feels like even relegation to League One wouldn’t see a halt in our decline. We could keep on dropping and dropping.
The club should hang it’s head in shame. Clubs of similar sizes and even bigger ha e had the same problems and maybe (hopefully) we can get back to where we want sooner than it looks at present but, right now, this is lowest point of my Stoke supporting life. I don’t want to use the term embarrassed because I’ll love and support the club no matter what but it’s just a demoralising, horrific time to support Stoke City.

heartbreak we've thrown it all away lads, crying shame we used to be proud of this football club - I still am in a way but really hurt by this. At least you can find a new bird when you're heart is broken

I genuinely thought with the back to back wins something had fallen into place. It would appear not.

It’s like someone you love just consistently taking the piss out of you but you can’t help but care for them. I guess there can be good times whatever level you’re at but our success was being in the Premier League. Now we’re a million miles off it.

EMBARRASSED is the very word you are feeling, although you don't like to admit it
We are dropping like a stone....when will it stop
It has to stop when the manager changes, and the attitudes changes in the players mindsets. This can only come from a new manager.

Empty- like when a girl I really liked cheated on me in my 20’s.
I trusted that girl and I trusted our owners. They’ve shafted us when we were on top of a wave and they took it all away in such a short space of time.
Cheated on and empty. The efforts of players such as Ric, Lawrence, Ethers, Whelan, Delap, Sorensen et al, seemingly just shit on.
Empty- thanks for bringing us to this - bunch of lazy arsed, scared morons

World Cup qualifying 1993. Been so utterly shit in the qualifications up to that point, that it was just resignation and acceptance of us being wank by that point.
Then San Marino. We needed to win by 7 clear goals to have a chance and they scored in under 10 seconds of the kick off.....I genuinely laughed my arse off, it really had got to that point of incredulity.
I'm kinda getting there now. Don't enjoy looking back at how that felt even now and that was a one off, now it's becoming a weekly occurrence.

Good summary, difficult to look forward to Saturdays and be crushed come 5pm. Just watched MOTD and Leicester's vibrant youthful team tear Southampton apart In contrast we now have mostly a team of ageing journeymen. How did that happen?. Most recent signings have been dross. Take as another example Sheffield Utds signing of John Egan about 18 months ago for approx 5 million from Brentford, 26 yrs old, decent pace and top class attitude and now holding his own in the premier league, In the same time frame we've signed Baath,Ward,Wilson,Lindsay and God knows who else..it just doesn't compare, one decent relatively young and hungry defender for that lot, 5 million looks a steal, the signings have just be seen dire.

I’m sat here stuck on train back from Millwall going nowhere at Nuneaton, might be here all night, but I agree with the original post. It’s all so sad, after today sadly it’s evident we’re in the football wilderness.

Apathy here too.
I just shrug when we concede and barely get excited when we score. I said it earlier this week, if England beat the All Blacks the Stoke result would be of little consequence as even a dull, dogged 1-0 win would have been papering over the cracks and cemented the position of a frighteningly out of his depth manager.
I'm just bored of being shit. There's more to life than this.
Having said that, the fact that I'm writing this on a Saturday night after once again watching highlights of other teams do things we can only dream about must mean something....

Do you remember two years ago, there were two murders - the victims bodies were discovered behind the library. Locals were shocked.
They didn't know Nuneaton had a library.

He's not good enough, he has got to go, he should've gone long ago and it's all ticking away slowly again because we beat Swansea... The longterm results are screaming at us why is nothing getting done about this shit show? It's honestly fucking embarrasing now. If YOU care about STOKE CITY FOOTBALL CLUB then you should want this man OUT NOW.

.....to the point of giving up on it all - not worth the heartache See, some would see that as defeatist and you not being a true supporter but it is all a bit “what’s the point?” at the moment. The support has been first class since we got relegated if truth be told but for extremely little reward. In fact it’s been a pretty traumatic fall from grace. I know and you know that you want give up on Stoke but apathy reigns at the moment and not giving a shit would be so much easier.

My feeling is,Jones will not be sacked, because the Board don't really care that much,it will be cheaper for them to run a 1st. Division football club. We have never been in the bottom tier of the football league,it wouldn't surprise me to see us playing there in the next 2/3 years.

Just got back, and its taken all that time travelling to work out my feelings
I think the word that describes it is bewildered. Its not that I haven't followed closely what has happened over the last three years, but its the sheer scale of the mismanagement, its really hard to reconcile it with Bet 365 being a successful business.
I knew if we went down we would struggle to come back up, but I didn't think we would be preparing for a long stint in League 1....I never thought I would see a Stoke team, which is so expensive , with wages that are obscene given the poverty in the city, that are so lacking and don't give a toss- because of the circumstances this is probably my lowest moment in my 48 years supporting the club

If YOU care about STOKE CITY FOOTBALL CLUB then you should want this man OUT NOW. It sounds like you're passionate about this. If so, you should direct your anger at those who recruited him and continue to do so. You can say Jones out a billion times, and pontificate about it. The owners who have overseen this massive demise OK are they? Those that have recruited Jones?
