The current top 4 home performers in the league...Blackburn, Millwall, Reading and QPR all avearge around 14k for home games. As they irritatingly say over here in the USA....go figure.

Too many distractions in Dubai. I should know after living there for 10 years.Oman would be a much better option.

That's completely the wrong way to recruit a 'Technical Director'...appointed by the manager ffs! Is it beyond the board to research the role that a successful technical director does. Why do we persist with the model that the manager decides everything with little or no recource only answering to the Coates family who we all know let the manager have a free rein. It's no wonder Neil on his appointment stated that it was commonly known in football that the Cotes family were among the best owners you could work for.

Can see his point. A lot of players not in form and don't look the side they were a couple of years ago but some teams just come good that month. I think are heading for a poor WC unless they drastically pick up but could happen. Suspect it'll be regression to the mean and out to France/Argentina in the quarter finals - assuming we avoid the Dutch in the last 16. Yes thatsprobably what will happen as we are on the downward curve. Expect at the end of the world cup an FA announcement of a contract extension for Southgate

of which 25 are outfield players, so that's just shy of 50% of the squad that are defenders Defensive coach picks lots of defenders shock However you can't in any sense of the word term Alexander Arnold a defender, absolutely woeful and will be a liability defensively against the top sides. But fabulous going forward.

There's an obvious solution to the debate, have a minute's applause. I would argue a 96 year old woman's life should be celebrated not mourned and it's a better option anyway........ A minutes silence is not 'mourning' its a time for thought and reflection. Something thats often beyond footie fans. But when football returns it will be a minutes applause because we know football can't handle a minutes silence without morons shouting and chanting abuse.

Cancelling the football program this weekend was the most stupid decision I can ever remember. If it was really because a small number of people may not observe a minutes silence of whatever it was then so what? Why are we trying to tell people what to think? All mainstream media outlets have been worse, much worse, than Russia TV or Chinese Central Television. Never mind a dissenting voice not even a raised eyebrow has been allowed anywhere near a studio. It's really quite shameful. There are plenty of outlets for people to voice their opions without sanction or censorship. Maybe respecting the passing of someones life might be the time to take a day off. It's already been seen in Zurich and Dublin that football fans often don't understand the term respect.

There are a couple of positives.... We will be relieved, albeit it temporary, of the farce of football fans trying to maintain a minutes silence. It's been shown they can't show respect. It gives the manager an extra week to try and sort out our shambles of a football team.

He's a complete numpty is Dave Lee, I don't get why he's invited considering he asks some right bollocks questions. Didn't Jones get really shitty with him after he asked a daft question? Might've dreamt that but seem to recall myself thinking at the time that Jones was bang on with his response. He’s utterly clueless mate and then throw in the Vale moron who just usually repeats Ange’s questions most weeks as well🙄 Ha ha yes good old George Andrews, I cringe every time he asks a question! I am hoping Neil morphs into Gordon Strachan when answering Andrew's banal questions. Could make the dreadful press conferences more interesting. We have heard fine words from previous managers before, so lets see how his tactics are and his man management capabilities and going forward its his ability to recruit well. Can't say i immediately warmed to him but that irrelevant.

The board have a very poor record when it comes to appointing a new manager so I shudder to think of who they will come up with. What I do expect is that it will be a lazy uninspiring appointment. An old school safe pair of hands boring and keeps us firmly entrenched as a dull mediocre lower championship club.It will be yet another wasted season.

The tie of the round is surely Ossett v Whitchurch Alport A real chance for a bit of giant killing 1874 went out in the extra qualifying, away match so no FA cup games here this season as my lot didn't make the division top half cut off line Thats a shame. I like the FA Cup matches as sometimes the draw pitches you against a team from a different league. Ossett are one level above in the Northern Premier East. So a tough one

There are some quite bizarre reaction on here to getting this deal done. This is a real coup to get arguably one of the hottest young players around who could have chosen just about any Champ club. How about enjoying this one piece of news and congratulating everyone concerned even the manager. Instead its just an endless pop at the manager with the old well worn cliches. I am no MON fan but christ sake some of you take a day off and enjoy something positive. I am looking forward to seeing what this lad is about. Welcome Liam

I think this is one of the better signings of the window. Clearly a very decent player for Brentford in the champs so he has a good pedigree. Some posters are moaning that it's a muddled thinking signing from MON. I agree the opposite, Clarke will be first choice RWB so do we go for a back up who can only play in that position and sits on the bench every week or a guy who can perform seemingly pretty well in a number of positions? Good signing in a window that has so far been pretty poor
