It’s probably inevitable it’ll be postponed if of course the news is as serious as it sounds
Might be wrong though

They went ahead in 1952 when George VI died. But who knows this time? www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2017/mar/16/what-happens-when-queen-elizabeth-dies-london-bridgeAfter the death of George VI in 1952, rugby and hockey fixtures were called off, while football matches went ahead. Fans sang Abide With Me and the national anthem before kick off. The National Theatre will close if the news breaks before 4pm, and stay open if not. All games, including golf, will be banned in the Royal Parks. (This is a fascinating article by the way - but very long!)

Would be very annoying if the game's cancelled....... Life goes on it happens to all of us in life and nothing should be cancelled as it’s personal to those affected by it IMO of course

Life goes on. More people are struggling with their own lives at the moment with bills etc than to be bogged down about the Queen dying.

Agree with everyone above. Regardless of how you feel about the queen/monarchy, ultimately the passing of royalty is just another celebrity death to 99.99% of the population. Ye death is sad but it’s going to happen to us all. The country shouldn’t be coming to a screeching halt because of it.

Had similar suspicions myself. However as said earlier life goes on.
A respectful two mins silence would seem ok to me.
The country will be in mourning for a couple of weeks at least. I know for a fact that plans have been in place for some time.
I respectfully hope that she pulls through but when the media start this type of coverage it does not bode well.

I never understood the idea of mourning etc...doesn't change anything. People standing outside a hospital holding a bloody candle because Michael Jackson or similar dies...why? What does holding a candle achieve? Her funeral will be on TV etc if you want to watch it. You can pay respect if you want and why not? Everything doesn't have to stop The whole Diana thing was embarrassing. People crying etc. A load of nonsense.

"The second Elizabethan age is likely to be remembered as a reign of uninterrupted national decline." Her last two pms Boris and Loopy liberal now hardline brexit Liz it all makes sense now.

For Diana’s funeral the country closed down so I played golf. However this (should it happen ) will be the first Death of A Reigning Monarch that the vast majority of us have experienced in our lifetimes. Love it or hate it it will be a major historical and international event.

Christopher Hitchens made a superb programme about the mourning of Diana. Some of the people featured on it clearly had issues.

Is there seriously a memorial fountain? Why? I remember a fella asking me in NYC had aI been to the John Lennon memorial in , wherever it was and saying I hadn't , didn't know there was one and had absolutely no intention of going, even if it was 20 feet away.

Fair play to Liz Truss for delivering so quickly with abolishing the Royal family. Maybe she'll surprise us all.

Fair play to the Queen she has been a great servant. But the family is the one that’s effected. I do feel like it will bring the country to a halt though.

It’ll be sad when it happens, but it shouldn’t have to change anyone’s life other than close friends and family, same for anyone else.
There will be plenty sat planning their social media posts, excited at all the potential likes and shares.

The country will no doubt come to a halt but that doesn't mean it should.
