Eddie is one of Hughes' boys. If Hughes gets another job he will go with him. Also we won't win tomorrow!

You're right - maybe I'm just bottling it! I'm scared of who we may end up with. I hope we get someone to the end of the season now and try again for a long term successor in the summer

This may divide opinion but if the Hughes Out brigade (of which I was one) knew that our top 2-3 targets would turn us down would you of given Hughes till the end of the season to avoid this farce and public humiliation?

This shit storm cant be going any worse can it? I cant see any managers out there at the moment as long term successors. For me this requires a temp to end of season. That's why ive stuck a fiver on Harry Redknapp at 33/1. Lambert- fuck right off!!!!

Don't statements like that make you love football!?!?! Yet the cretins at the football league will no doubt hit him with a huge fan. And before people jump down my throat asking me if I condone gun crime - get a grip! It was a figure of speech I'm sure he didn't mean it

I love this guy!!! If every person on the Oatcake chucks a tenner in we can fly him over and give him some proper Stokie hospitality!! hahaha, trust me one day I will come and support the team home and away , many of my friends who are Egyptian physicians working in UK are advising me to take the IELTS exam and try to work there in UK (there is a shortage of doctors in UK after Brexit and it became easy for Egyptians to work there), after being here in the forum for long time, feeling warm welcome from all people here, I started recently to think about it seriously, just need to work on my English more. You're English puts my Egyptian to shame!

Coates has ploughed enough in! He is not a Sheikh. Bet365 is rich but its a fucking business. The Oil rich tycoons are cash rich thus why they invest so much. Your expectations are being mis-managed by a league where money rules. It is not realistic for someone just to say here's a couple of hundred million out my own pocket for you to spunk! The system is corrupt, unbalanced and not fair nor compatible with competitive sport. Look at the NFL model - anybody can win (unless you're the Cleveland Browns). Coates has done what he can and maybe even invested more than he and his family should of. The only thing he is guilty of is being naïve enough to allow that incompetent fool Scholes and the rest of his board manage the club he loves and trust Coates loves this club. The club needs to spend wiser and make better business decisions. We are where we are because the manager lost his way and the board allowed him too and mi-managed the Coates families money.

WOW, Thanks for creating this topic, I really appreciate it. - I am a fan for Ramadan and I like to watch all Egyptian players abroad but I have only joined this forum and I didnt join "Liverpool - Arsenal - Westbrom...etc forums", I dont know why but mostly because I believe in Ramadan more than any other Egyptian player including Salah. "and I dont know Ramadan in person " - Yes, I joined the forum because of Ramadan but it is about 2 seasons now supporting Stoke, watching all games, being here everyday, even when Ramadan is not playing I like to watch and support all Stoke games, and I think I will always support the team even when Ramadan moves, may be I will not watch all games like now but I have good memories here, I wish the team will be better in the upcoming games, I am really sad for the people here who love Stoke they deserve better than that. - Before Ramadan, mostly me and Egyptians dont know much info about Stoke City except "they are a defensive team and big teams dont like to face them", After watching all Stoke games I see the defense is the worst line and this idea wasn't so true. Egypt is more than 100 million population, most of us love football, it may be the most important thing for most of Egyptians in their life, looks crazy but it is true, and most of Egyptians love Ramadan especially Al Ahly fans who can be estimated as 75% of Egyptian fans or more, I think Stoke City population is only half million so in case all of them watch all Stoke games so absolutely we have at least 10 millions who are watching all Stoke games in Egypt "20 doubles than fans in Stoke on Trent", many of my friends are watching all Stoke games and we always discuss it, I always see people in streets wearing Ramadan T-Shirt with Stoke "but a fake T-Shirt", and all cafes broadcast Stoke games. I have a friend who recently moved to work as a physician in Stoke on Trent, although he is "Zamalek fan and doesnt like Ramadan" but he goes to the stadium to support him and the team. - I dont like the way Hughes used with Ramadan, Ramadan was much much much better than now, even with the national team Egyptian fans are angry cause he is not Ramadan himself, a shadow of Ramadan that we know, recently he wants to make safe passes and defend and has 0 confidence although he was full of confidence he was able to beat any defender, I wish the upcoming manager can understand the guy and help him to build his confidence back, he really can help the team, Salah, El Neny, Hegazy, Elmohamady were playing in Egypt and no one of them did what Ramadan did here, he was supposed to be much better than all of them. Ramadan is not only a good player, he is a real fighter that has been turned to an employee under Hughes, I believe he will become a fighter again just need a suitable environment. My advice for Ramadan to stay in Stoke, to try the new manager and see if he is improving or not, also from personal point of view I like the team, the fans and I want him to continue too, if he wants to move then I wish he can come back to Al-Ahly. I have been to England for just 1 week and didnt have a chance to be in contact with people there, just a tourist but here in the forum I see there are many similarities between English and Egyptian people, I thought English people dont like us as Egyptians, I thought there are many racists there but I believe they are not many they are few but have loud voice, same like here most of Egyptians are not religious or "fake religious" but a minority are extreme so foreigners think Egypt is full of terrorists. I wish Ramadan can be the new leader for Stoke, I wish i will be able to visit the city and support the team from the stadium, It is like a dream for me to attend Stoke games in stadium but I am a bit busy with medicine currently. I love this guy!!! If every person on the Oatcake chucks a tenner in we can fly him over and give him some proper Stokie hospitality!!

O'neill can remain Ireland manager and come to us until the end of the season. A nice staying up bonus will be the sweetener. Look at the bigger picture. At this time of the season only a handful of managers are available if we wait until the summer that pot will be larger. The current squad if managed and organised correctly can keep us up easily. A loan signing or two in this window will be ok.
What I'm basically saying is - write this season off, keep us up and have more choice of available managers come May/June.

I've been saying this since a few weeks before Hughes went. We need a fresh start and some fresh direction. Scholes and Cartwright need to go to - they are part of the problem. A manager has less responsibility nowadays i.e. transfers, contracts and managing budgets etc... Scholes and Cartwright are very much a part of the problem at Stoke currently and unless they go not much will change - any new manager will just be their patsy.

O'Neill till end of the season for me. I said this all along. This will give us a decent experienced manager until the end of the season - chuck him a decent wage and a £1M bonus to keep us up. Then in the summer we will have a bigger pool of managers to choose from. Makes sense to me.

Liverpool are desperate for a keeper. We aren't desperate to sell. They've got a massive wad of cash in their pockets. I reckon we should be looking at £70m plus. Remember what they've paid and received for Van Dijk and Coutinho. This is the season of silly money. We might as well join the party. £70m plus for Jack?! £30-35m maximum.. Spent the entire last season injured and this season has been bang average. As it stands he isn't a top 6 keeper but has the potential to be. Which 5 are better than him?

This is exactly what I was looking for. A few names have cropped up in this thread that id never heard of and some I had but at least now I have a start point at which to begin a bit of research before I choose a location. I guess travelling round would be good as you get to see different places but id sooner have a base and take in nearby day trips. Not sure im brave enough to commit to moving round hotels and travelling like that. I really appreciate all your responses. The planning begins

I've decided our next family holiday will be in Thailand. My wife and 2 kids - lad will be 14 daughter 15 are going to be travelling with me. I've been sold on the beautiful beaches the scenery, wildlife and food.
What I'm struggling with is where to stay. I want to avoid the seedier areas so would like to hear off anybody who can recommend somewhere family orientated that maybe doesn't have as much hustle and bustle as Bangkok. If you've been where did you stay? Would you recommend it? would you avoid it?
Ideally id like a touristy beach resort that has a nearby town or city with plenty of restaurants and fresh food markets. But ive no idea where to start looking. One person has mentioned Phuket is ok but when I go on the travel agent websites there are many many choices so I thought the best place to start would be listening to people who had been and what there experiences of the different parts of such a beautiful country are.

A poor choice? Why? I can't think of a more influential player in the history of the premier league. Not only was he a great player (dirty, but great), but he got 10/20% more out of all the players around him though a mixture of respect and fear. He learned a very important lesson at Sunderland by discovering that all players weren't as good as he was, and has played a key role in making a very average Irish squad into an organised an disciplined unit. Furthermore, I don't get the double-standards of some supporters, which allows them to condemn Keane for the Haaland incident (and rightly so) yet extol the virtues of the likes of Smith, Clamp, Kennedy, amongst others. It's pretty clear to me that, had he played for Stoke, Keane would be for ever more worshipped like a God. Maybe the hatred is just a poorly disguised anti-Irish thing from some. One thing is for sure; if he does show up here with O'Neill, they'll get the very best out of what we already have, and will buy players who know how to fight. Some of the people on this board really amuse me. Jesus, talk about "looking a gift horse in the mouth"?!?! Do you really think that someone like Mancini would bother his arse even talking to Stoke, let alone come here? Seriously? To a relegation dog-fight, with little money to spend, and no good hair-dressers nearby? If O'Neill and Keane could be convinced to come here to steady the ship 'til the end of the season, and keep us up, that would be a huge result. Then, if Rodgers could be seduced into taking over after that, that would be as close to football Nirvana as we could ever get. My hairdressers is orate! Partners, Longton - check it out!
