The biggest think in our favor is that Huddersfield play watford next. Hopefully their management team are too stupid to realize this is their best chance to pick up a win. If I was them, I’d offer every player a bonus of 25,000 quid for a win against Watford. If they do not win this game, I think we are in with a shout. but I reckon every player will have already negotiated a staying up bonus How do you know this? surely the club didn't think (especially Coates) we would be in this position in a million years? And if they cant offer bonuses mid way through the season how on earth would they of got this?

You have us picking up 8 points from 15 yet Huddersfield only picking up 2 points from 15 despite having both Everton and Watford at home. It's just not going to happen. 14 AFC Bournemouth ------- -19 38 15 West Ham United ------- -22 38 16 Brighton & Hove Albion --- -23 35 17 Stoke City -------------- -34 35 18 Huddersfield Town -------- -34 34 19 Southampton FC -------- -20 33 20 West Bromwich Albion ----- -23 21 This how its come up on my predictor Win against Burnley, win against palace, draw against west ham, draw against Swansea. Lose against Liverpool. (3-0) That seems quite realistic to me. A loss at west ham and its well and truly game over beyond any doubt. Losing on the last day sends us down on goal difference. 1. Hughes for bringing in Berahino, Wimmer, Imbula, Wollscheid, Jesé, Fletcher and Choupo. Hughes for choosing to play the wing back system. Hughes for bringing the two clowns below with him. Hughes for imposing no discipline on the squad. Hughes for not learning from the QPR fiasco and repeating exactly the same mistakes here. 2. Bowen for not having a clue how to coach players in how to defend or attack set pieces, and for allowing a well organised and fit team become disorganised and the least fit in the league. 3. Big Ed (see no.2). 4. Cartwright. If this bloke did have a big influence on transfers and contract negotiations he should be fired well before the start of the next transfer window. 5. Scholes. If his role is to oversee the day to day running of the club he should be fired for 1,2,3 and 4. He should have sacked Hughes in 2016, but allowed him to stay and ruin the club with disastrous transfer after disastrous transfer. Coates doesn't make my top 5 cos he got us into the top flight and also kept us there for 10 years. If I'd seem someone splash as badly as Hughes and / or Cartwright I'd have turned the tap off as well. Coates might’ve gotten us here but he’s sent us back too with his poor running of the club. Complacency.

Don't talk shit, Kitson wasn't even close to being signed by mark Hughes. You've got me mistaken with someone else. Take a gander at the Kitson thread.....😂 Was said tongue in cheek - although it may not on looked that way. I can assure you i know full well mark hughes didnt sign kitson. Kitson left in what 2012? Mark Hughes took over in 2013?

Hellu! I just searched around and found a PL predictor to spend some fun anxious minutes with. Even if we win vs Crystal P, Burnley and Swansea I got us second bottom. West Brom, Stoke and Brighton relegated. Southampton survive on better goal difference than Brighton. 😖 curtains, birds and oatcake sandwich//:musik With Southampton's run in, i cant see it.

Its clear we cant score for shit and haven't been able to for 90% of the season, we need to spend big on a striker next year no matter what league we are in. But who the fucks going to come to us? Is Coates going to spend the money on getting one?
What strikers are even available? I cant think of one right now that is a proven goal scorer that would come to us/that peter would pay for?
Any names on the shortlist?

Jonathan Northcroft said essentially when we sacked Hughes that we were big fans of Allardyce but by that point he'd gone to Everton. I don't really care what the football is liken Championship as long as we get out of that shithouse of a league. The last thing I wanna see if being a shitty mid-table club there. And he'd keep us up too. And regarding Paul Lambert, you could also make the argument that every signing under him so far has actually looked good. Lest not forget Ndiaye being quality against Spurs and Bauer being an absolute gem. Some 'ITK' posters seem to believe Hughes had signed Bauer before he left, which is funny. Only when leaving did he think we needed a right back? After 4 years of not having one?

The pundits keep saying one team always puts an unbelievable run together at the end and, frankly, we are in luck because it would he unbelievable. Still, we got 9 out of our last 15 in 2003. What was our remaining fixtures out of interest?

We have to target Arnie in this game, foul him, niggle him, wind him up he will crack and end up getting himself sent off. If we Give him the freedom of the park as we did when they came to our place he will punish us, Shawcross indi give him hell. Those 2 center half's haven't got a pair of bollocks between them.

Lambert is allegedly excellent at weeding out supposed 'bad eggs' but bad results seem to be what he is best at. Yawn.

In your opinion, who would you list as the top 5 people (or things) to blame for our relegation? And why? For me... 1. Mark Hughes 2. Mark Cartwright 3. Saido Berahino / inability to find striker 4. Peter Coates 5. Charlie Adam Mark Hughes Mark Hughes Mark Hughes Tony Scholes Peter Coates

I think possibly more by accident than design, Lambert has finally found his best eleven and formation and I don't think he will make any changes for the West Ham game, unless possibly if Staffy is fit. I agree.. although we still have no goals in us.. and a draw isn't good enough. "To win you need to score" (Michael Owen, 2017)

The Everton defeat finished us off. It's QPR, Notts Forest and Leeds next season. I can see us cut adrift if not mathematically down before the last two fixtures in May. Sad truth is that this team is simply not good enough for this level of football. We look like what we will be next term; namely a second flight outfit. But hey, it's not the end of the world folks. We can bounce back if we work hard and play our cards right. Stoke is a great club with superb supporters. The Potters will rise again. And let's not forget that we've had some great times in the top flight. Who would of thought back in 2008 that we would have lasted for a decade in the premiership. We've taken them all on and we've beaten them all at one time or another. Stoke City is back on the football map. It won't take us another 23 years to get back to the summit. This season has been dog shit but I'm confident that better times lie ahead. Good post, just a shame all of Pulis hard work has been undone by a welsh clueless twat

Not to sabotage the thread before it's had a chance, but it was very telling that we could never get a result against any TP side when Hughes was in charge. No Stoke manager has beaten a Pulis side, including before Pulis was Stoke manager. I want Middlesbrough to go up so we don't have to play them. I want them to stay down so we have him back and coates come in with an offer TP can't refuse

For me, the final straw, the last throw of the dice. Just over a week away, for me we were gone when we lost to Everton, for some when its still mathematically possible there is still a chance of surviving.
One point keep us in touching distance of the pack - assuming other results go our way (with a hard run of games coming up for us)
A win for sure gets us back in it (providing results go our way again) and i think should be beat west ham we may pull off the miracle escape
A loss for me is pretty much us mathematically relegated. I can't see where the next goal comes from let alone win. Arnie will also be out to secure there safety but relegate us as well.
I'm not even sure how i would set up for this game either. We've been shafted by Hughes so badly the only consolation is seeing them come down with us as well should the inevitable happen.

The goal was purely the fault of Indi- a shocking pass when under no pressure whatsoever. I thought he was poor for most of the game with Shawcross digging Indi out of the crap on several occasions. Indi for me has been poor for the majority of this season. His distribution is appalling, his marking isn't great and needs to up his game and be the player he was last season
